Mauriel had experienced many things during her cycle of life. She was an old soul, deaths of children and lovers were no stranger to her, and neither were her own. Disease, hopelessness, wars of Gods that tore worlds apart, pain, and loss, she was intimately familiar with all of them.

But nothing had ever made her feel as bereft and desolate as when she realized that she ended up sipping through the fissure, like so many of her brothers and sisters before her. It was as if most of her being was torn from her consciousness and caged in some deep crevice in her mind where she could see it, but never reach it again. Never again.

Hard hit against the surface of water interrupted her grief, bringing her back into reality. Back into reality… Being suddenly deprived of air, for a moment she was still, not even knowing what to do. Her mortal body was alert, anxious, afraid. But she felt dissociated, she didn’t have enough time to process what had happened, she didn’t identify with this being she has now become. However, her instincts kicked in, despite her convoluted thoughts and emotions, and she started swinging her limbs aimlessly. Swimming should be easier, something told her. Moonlight was reflecting in the surface beyond her, showing her the way, but her strength was at its limit. She felt as though the moonlit plane was as far from her reach as Leth and her eternal peace had just become, yet she pierced it just a moment later and inhaled sharply.

Up. Look up. Look! Her mind was screaming at her to no avail, her mortal coil could not manage it. While staying afloat was the easier task now that she managed to swim to the surface, she had no strength for any unnecessary movements. The tides were pushing her left and right, and it became apparent that she’ll have to swim for the shore or she’ll die. Endless sea encircled her on one side, but on the other, there were forests and mountain peaks, caves and rock formations. She propelled herself towards the landmass, not able to think about anything else. It felt like hours before she was upon a beach, although it must’ve been less. When she finally got to walking depths, her legs would not hold her. Whether her balance was completely off after a long swim, or her stamina gave out, or perhaps she was oversensitive to the sharpness of the rocks on her soles, she didn’t know. What she did know is that she fell back into the water multiple times, which in the shallow areas meant scratching her arms and legs. She ended up crawling to a big rock that was stranded on the beach, leaning onto it.

She finally looked up. The Moon was hidden behind a large cloud, its beauty reserved for the sky.

A litany of sensations were battling for her attention. Deep pain in her legs from the little rocks that pressed into her skin, the chill of the summer night upon her unprotected body, the dryness in her mouth… Groggily, she moved her head to the left, but her horn was met with a rock, preventing her from turning. She gave in and rubbed her eyes, wishing to stand up. She must have passed out.

Before she did, the soul-crushing torment flooded her again. It was still a cloudy night, Leth’s rays visible only as a pastel shading to a curtain over the skies. She moved to stand up, but every inch of her body ached in agony, her muscles on fire, skin scratched and bruised, her mind unclear, sleepy, perhaps like she caught a cold, sleeping wet on a beach. She managed to clean her legs from the little rocks stuck to them and any leftover dirt, and sit on the rock she was leaning against. Everything was in pitch-darkness, concealed Moon not helping vision much, but to her right she could see several mountain peaks glowing brightly through the fog, light dissipating down the mountain around them. Although she couldn’t make out anything in particular, the beauty of the light-play was completely capturing, and for a while she just stared at it, stunned. Whatever it was, it called to her.

She turned back to the sky, an insecure twitch in her lips. Why did this happen? Before the thought was fully formed in her head, she started bawling like a child, pulling at her hair and horns, punching the damn rock, hugging her own legs, hitting her head against her knees. Why? Why her?

Memories of her past lives came to her one by one, unclear in their contents, but sharp with emotion. There was a lot of joy in living, doubtless, but it couldn’t compare to one felt in Ukalas. Nonetheless, it was there. But her regrets stung sharper, clearer than her recollections of love and devotion. She remembered her life as an Akvatari, and it brought nothing but anguish. A holy task was given to her, calling unto her entire being, but she failed to manage the poorest attempt. She was to spread art, beauty, story, and reflection, through different cultures, enriching them with hard learned lessons of different peoples, but she disregarded this holy goal for lowly pleasures and routines that left her nothing but empty and angry. As a Vantha man after that, she felt the same calling, but bound by traditions and duties, she couldn't bring herself herself to leave her family to pursue what her soul yearned for until she was far too old to achieve anything meaningful. And here she was again.

When she looked up this time, the Moon was shining back at her.

Leth must have given her another chance.

Up (Zeva)

Postby Zeva on August 30th, 2018, 1:15 am

━ earlier in the day
There was no denying Lhavit was a beautiful city. Constructed as a means to pay homage to the sky goddess Zintila, the architecture and people reflected and radiated this pride and beauty. Zeva had found herself obsessed with it all, pulled in by the strange yet stunning city of skyglass, terraces and stars. Yet, despite it all, she always managed to find herself back down on the shores of Port Tranquil, feet in the pebbled sand and eyes on the sea.

Today was no different.

Perhaps she missed the hustle and bustle of the many Svefra pods she had lived with over the years but she always felt drawn to the fisherfolk that claimed this area as their own. There was something she saw in them that made her feel comfortable - like she was home. They were generally an honest, hard working sort who rarely turned down a chance to chat, much like the Svefra she had known from her past. But it wasn't so much the people she missed as much as the feeling - the simplicity and the openness. It didn't hurt that the shoreline often offered her a bounty of things to scavenge and loot. But today wasn't necessarily about the latter.. today she was drawn down to the port because she craved company.. the kind of company she had know prior to being here in Lhavit.

She had dressed simply this day - sticking to her loose linen pants and silk blouse - yet she still wore some key effects, namely a few rings, necklaces and earrings, and a sash wound loosely around her neck like a scarf. She had just finished shucking her boots from her feet when she cast her blue gaze northwards towards the direction of the shipyards. The hazy, foggy sky still held enough light for the tall glass cranes and roofs of warehouses to glint, winking at her from afar. It beckoned her - as any shiny thing would - and she allowed herself to succumb to the allure, stashing her pack, boots and grapple pole in a clump of marram grass – woolly, tall grass bushes that clung steadfast to the crestline of the rocky, shelly dunes, before padding off in the direction of the quay. A particular warehouse caught her eye - pale in colour - and she angled toward it, shelly, coarse sand crunching under her bare feet.

She navigated a shallow pool that separated her and her desired target and then slipped through one of the many large warehouse entries, leaving a trail of wet footprints in her wake. Her blue eyes roamed the ropery, skimming over the numerous occupants within - all tending to various bits of line and netting - when she spotted an older woman bundled in a red shawl a few meters away, perched on a stool while her hands worked fastidiously on the fishing net she had in her lap. The red glowed in her vision and Zeva, presuming the fishing net to be tangled or damaged, advanced soundlessly towards the woman. Surely she could barter with her - some company for help with that net.

Without a moments, hesitation, Zeva came upon the woman and stated, bold and forward as ever, “That net –”, she paused as she loomed over the woman’s hunched frame, doing so with the intent to both grab attention and coerce if need be, “looks a bit mangled. I can help..

She plopped down on a neighbouring stool with great aplomb right then and there before the woman had a chance to reply and reached to seize a bottom corner of the net, drawing it into her own lap.

The woman eyed her for a long chime, her eyes a little rheumy and fringed with deep lines – evidence of a life full of laughter, smiles and squinting. Her hands had stayed their movements since she had spotted the red-head and now, slowly, they began to resume their work, not needing her sight to pick and tug at the knot between her fingertips, “If you wish…. I’d never say no to a helping hand.” Her tone was not convincing, her brown eyes never straying from her new companion, yet the tension in her shoulders slowly eased as she watched as Zeva began picking away at a knot of her own, the Kelvic’s focus now fully on the bit of net in her possession.

The Kelvic began to chat, sticking to harmless topics like ‘How has the fishing been?”, “What is your name?” and “The fog is a funny thing, hey?” Jecinda - Zeva learned - had long since stopped going to sea to fish but she still enjoyed assisting with the nets and ropes here in the ropery whenever her stiff hands and hips allowed her to. The fishing, she was told, had been consistent despite the fog making some mornings of late a hazard. Zeva soaked up the info as she tugged and pulled at knots and snags and the pair fell into an amiable - albeit slightly one-sided - conversation, pausing now and again to assist each other in tying and tugging sections of the net.

Time passed, the angle of the weak shadows cast about by the equally weak light above indicating the number of bells that had passed and, eventually, the conversation began to shift. "The bay here," Zeva queried before pausing to use her teeth to aid her in securing a mended section with a knot, "how are the winds? Does it get storms often?" Storms were welcomed, as far as she was concerned; although storm swells could easily clear a beach of her preferred pickings, she knew they could also lead to cast off items and debris churned up from the seabed to be deposited along the shore.

Jecinda seemed content with answering the Kelvic's many questions, "The Ahger Ocean is unkind, this is known, but the westerlies here in the bay are gentle and do not really blow until winter. It is called 'Port Tranquil' for a reason." With that, she gave a red-head a knowing side-ways glance.

Zeva nodded to this and pried further, "And the currents? Tides?"

Jecinda paused her work as she looked up towards the turquoise waters of the wharf before them and then motioned with her chin for emphasis, "The bay in these parts is littered with old slaver ships from bygone times. The broken down hulls make navigation tricky and, if you look, you can see the currents they create."

Pausing her own fiddling, the Kelvic lifted her blue gaze to the sea beyond them and trained her eyes on a point, looking hard until she saw the differences in the water - a narrow section looking darker, as if the water was moving in a different direction than the rest. Her eyes narrowed as she asked, "The currents... they are the darker... streams.. there." She pointed to the section she had spotted and Jecinda nodded in confirmation.

"The tides are normal." The woman cast the red-head a brief glance, as if deliberating over whether to expand on this or not, before dropping her gaze to the new net in her hands, "They change between high and low every six bells. You can see, now, that low tide is close due to how far back the sea is. It'll be at its lowest a bell into Dusk Rest and then come high again just at the start on Midnight Rest.... and on and on it will go."

The Kelvic listened and began to try and calculate what the tide would be around sunrise, doing basic sums in her head. "So it should be low tide again around dawn?" She asked, looking for confirmation.

Jecinda gave it to her in the form of a firm nod.

Armed with the knowledge she had gained from Jecinda in the Ropery, Zeva parted ways with the woman and her bright red shawl and made her way back towards where she had earlier stashed her belongings. The rocky coastline looked huge now that it was around low tide, the shelly, pebble-dotted stretch of sand reaching far out towards the sea, the watery blanket drawn back to reveal old broken bits of pier jutting up from the seabed and gnarled bits of smooth, dark driftwood. Low tide was the best time to scavenge and she wasted no time rolling up the bottoms of her pants before snatching up her bag and grapple pole, resting the latter against a shoulder long since gone bare now that her loose shirt sat off kilter on her frame.

She padded happily along the wet sand, blue eyes scanning the beach before her, mentally discarding broken shells and bland rocks as her eyes passed them. She paused here and there to pluck - or dig - up bits of colourful glass worn smooth by the sea and sand, putting them into her bag as she went. A few small and simple cockles and pale clam shells - one being of great interest due to the opalescent qualities she saw on the inside - also went into the bag. Her trek took her towards the sea and she gradually found more interesting and intact shells as she got closer to where the sea lapped gently at the sand. A pretty, striped scallop shell was added to her collection along with a smooth bottle-green bit of glass that was the size of her palm.

A rock bed rested a few metres ahead, sections peaking out above the surface, and she spied the dark shapes of mussels that clung in bunches there and hurried towards it. She grit her teeth against the cold as she waded in to the shallows of the low tide and then, with little grace, she clambered up and onto the uneven rock bed, a hand shooting out to try and balance her as she wobbled. Once steady, she crouched and did her best to try and ignore the chill as she reached her free hand down to try and seize one of the shells. She was surprised by how easily it came loose and she remained there, plucking up thumb-sized mussels under her hand went numb.

She lept back towards the sand once she was through and hunched her shoulders as a chill ran through her body. Pausing, she ran her gaze along the water-line, scanning the many shapes and divots that dotted the sand, eyes moving northward along the beach back towards the shipyard. She swept her gaze back towards where she had started and then quickly scurried back up the beach as a cold wave of water rushed up to try and swallow her ankles. She collected an awkward, twisted and branching bit of driftwood the length of her forearm as she did and grimaced as it dripped cold wet drops onto her pants as she lifted it to get a good look at it, water running down her arm. She shivered fiercely then and decided to return to the dry, rocky bluffs where her boots still remained.

She should have brought her cloak.

In a bid to regain some warmth, she unfurled the sash from around her neck and then wrapped it as best she could around her shoulders. She tugged her boots back on and settled down in the bluffs where she began to feast on the mussels she had collected, making sure to keep the shells that her cold, numb fingers pried apart.

With little daylight left and her body only growing colder, Zeva shifted to her Avikki form once she had made sure all of her newly acquired pretties and clothes had been packed away safely and tucked out of sight. The tide was slowly creeping back in so she took to wing, flitting up to a rocky outcropping where she proceeded to ruffle herself up once she landed and took a moment to take in her surroundings. She knew she could easily retire to her room at the Solar Winds but it had been some time since she'd roosted and she chose, instead, to remain, her body more tolerant of the cold in this form thanks to her down feathers acting as insulation. She'd rest until the next low tide and repeat the process again before she'd trudge back to her home on Zintia.

near the end of Midnight Rest ━

The Kelvic felt as if she had only just shut her eyes when a noise stirred her awake. In the distance, a forlorn keening was heard, the cry disturbing the peace of the quiet evening and the Avikki tilted her head before shifting her wings in irritation. It faded and then rose once more, coming in waves like the sea below, and the Kelvic peered out through the darkness to see if she could locate the source of the sound. Something pale shimmered in Leth's light just on the edge of her vision and she blinked, as if doing so might draw the form more into focus. It didn't. Curiosity filled her, prompting her to take wing so she might investigate and she glided soundlessly in the direction of what she thought she had seen.

It was only as grew closer to the pale form that she realised it was the source of the noises. It looked still now, resting as if it were one with the rock it laid upon, and the gull adjusted her winds to send her in a gentle dive towards whatever this thing was. She made a wide, lazy circle high above the shimmering form, keen eyes taking in the strange, nude, humanoid form. It had what looked to be horns but they were covered in a wet mat of inky black hair. Curious, indeed.

Having never seen anything quite like what she saw below her, she flapped her wings and then angled herself more sharply, diving quickly downwards. Her approach was silent up until she was right upon the bizarre creature, the gull pulling up sharply with a series of furious flaps, wings snapping loudly at the night air and - quite unintentionally - clipping the creature's face. She landed clumsily near the strange things back and her webbed feet brought her quickly towards the front of the rock where she went to try and peck at the woman's hair in a bid to try and reveal more of the strange... spirals... that were hidden beneath, ready to take flight if the woman turned hostile.

Postby Mauriel on September 11th, 2018, 1:24 am

The newborn Ethaefal, in her not so quiet contemplation, did not even conceive of being seen or heard. Other living beings were still a strange concept to the unaccustomed soul. It should not come as a surprise that upon hearing a pecking sound right besides her ear, she leapt from the rock she was sitting on, her naked form fully on display, before turning around to face whatever attacked her.

She exhaled loudly in relief upon spotting a bird. Was it a gull? The size and the fact that they were by the sea fit, as well as the seeming light color. She couldn't be sure, as she was unable to make it out in the darkness, having just stared at the moon. It was strange that the bird approached her so openly, she thought. Was it hungry? Perhaps that's why it was pecking at her? Why would it act so domesticated? "You scared me!" she informed the thing.

The Ethaefal gulped, holding back more tears. This whole scenery was so intense, so real, her experience so vivid and clear, unlike her memories. She easily felt overwhelmed by the stiffness of her tired body, the stones under her feet, the wind on her bare skin, the sound of the waves, and the damned bird. It was all too much to take in once she was snapped from her safe haven of thoughts.

Another chill and subsequent shiver reminded her that she needed clothes. Removing some of the wet hair glued to her face, the woman started looking around for any sign of civilization, except whatever was shining atop those mountains, for she'd probably die before getting up there in the state she was in. As her eyes accustomed to the darkness, she thought she saw a pier not too far away. Despite everything in her screaming for her not to do so - mostly because she yearned for time alone, but also out of shame at her naked form - she started walking towards it. She untangled her hair as she walked, irritatedly realizing it was twisting around her horns as well. As she did, her moss-green Summer horns would start glistening in the scarce moonlight, although it could be unclear to one unfamiliar with Ethaefal whether that was due to the texture of what they were made of or rather because of the moisture. She tried covering her breasts as best as she could with the hair at least, nagging herself to take each successive step, reminding herself that the chance she was given will have been in vain if she lets the wilderness get to her before she's ready for it. She thought the bird might have been a gentle reminder of that.

The kelvic lept and flapped her wings - once, twice - in response to the strange woman's jumpy reaction, ready to save her own skin. She lifting fully into the air and watched from a safe distance, her spread wings allowing her to glide lazily around the woman once more. And that's most certainly what she was - nude form completely on display - yet the rest of her didn't add up. The kelvic had yet to cross paths with any other Ethaefal here in Lhavit and, thus, this odd, horned woman was a bizarre novelty to her and a puzzle she had yet to fully piece together.

What happened next perplexed the kelvic further and she dip to land on a far side of the rock the odd woman had previously clung to. She watched curiously, head swivelling one way then, with a shake, it turned to the other. It wasn't common for non-Svefra - or those without prior knowledge of her kelvic nature - to speak to her so and it got her wondering what this strange horned person knew. Suspicion flared within the gull as she took a few steps towards the creature, webbed feet slapping softly against the wet stone, blue eyes never leaving the odd woman or her glittering green horns.

Her skin was flawless, like the smooth, polished marble floors she had seen in some of the buildings here in Lhavit, and, being so close, Zeva's pale feather's were illuminated by the soft glow her skin gave off. There was something strangely alluring about this, and she advance further only for the horned woman with her mess of black hair to turn and disregard her. The plucky Avikki stopped abruptly and tucked her head before giving her body an annoyed ruffling up.

How dare this thing turn its back on her!

She gave a shrill cry - Where are you going?! - before repeating this call again once the first was rebuffed. Irritated, she trailed hastily after the odd woman, webbed feet and little bird legs bringing her to the edge of the rock but they were no match for her long, shapely ones. The kelvic was left to watch as the strange woman waded to shore, hands up in her tangle of hair.

Another long, shrill call pierced the night sky - What are you?!

She'd need to shift. How infuriating that this odd creature continued to ignore her!

She spread her wings and, with a small hop from the rock, took flight, beating them until she was a good head higher than the horned woman and glided after her, zipping and swerving around her form in a bid to be noticed before, eventually, she made one more flap of her wings and glided down to land on a post of the nearby pier. Another irritated squawk left her before, in a flash of blinding white light, her gull form was replaced by that of her human form. Now she was freckled and tattooed flesh laid bare over a svelte, average frame, head topped with an unruly tousle of vibrant red-orange locks and those same blue, red-orange rimmed eyes from before. They stared out at the horned woman, thick dark brows narrowed obstinately.

"Are you deaf? Or just stupid. I was talking to you."

Her irritation was evident now that she was speaking actual words. Unlike the other woman, Zeva showed no modesty and bared herself openly, shoulders and hips held in an annoyed slant, fists balled at her hips.

Without waiting for a reply to her earlier clip, she charged onward, oblivious to the horned woman's discomfort or plight, "What are you."

For whatever reason, the notion of the strange woman being out on a rock at sea, naked and crying did not strike her as odd. The fact that she had horns and glowed was the only thing that mattered at this point.

Shrieking of the bird behind her did alert the black-haired woman, she turned to see what it was shrieking about, but seeing that there was no predator that it was trying to scare off that she would need to worry about, she just resumed her walk towards the pier. Disappointed, the Ethaefal noted that the pier was dark and silent, seemingly unpopulated. Perhaps it was abandoned, or maybe the workers and sailors won't be around until the morning. She felt a whiff of relief upon that thought, hoping to find somewhere to sleep at and perhaps some clothes to put on, or anything to cover herself with, before encountering the locals.

As she walked, the gull from before, now clearly identifiable as such, started behaving very weirdly. It was flying in weird patterns around the distraught woman. What the hell was this creatures problem? The newly fallen started waving her hands around, trying to drive it away. "Shoo!"

It finally gave up, gliding down to the pier that they closed in on in the meantime. Ethaefal's eyes flickered with the swirl of light that followed, her pupils contracting in response to the sudden brightness, but then widening with surprise, as she was greeted by another woman, naked as the day she was born (much like herself, though a bit less literally). Her tantrum, paired with her unruly fiery hair and the magic the Ethaefal just witnessed was indeed somewhat intimidating, though she couldn't get properly scared. She could hardly feel anything properly right now, though she took a step back. Her attention finally belonged to the creature before her.

"I should ask the same thing," she said, still baffled. "Along with why are you under the impression that I'd understand a bird's shrieking?"

The Kelvic's irritation was pronounced. She had not handled been shooed and rebuffed well and now this thing continued to ignore her demands! Her full, freckled lips drew into an irritated line before twisting into a faint sneer. Not one to step down from a challenge, she saw this as a form of competition and - having the higher ground quite literally - she lumbered to the edge of the pier in a bid to bring herself as close as possible to the creature while still remaining above her. Curling her toes around the edge of the wooden board, she rolled her shoulders back and folded her arms across her bare chest, eyeing the woman harshly before lofting her chin.

"I asked first." There as an undercurrent of venom in her words, an unspoken challenge, "Is it common of your kind to ignore questions... or to answer them with your own?" What a difficult creature! Zeva was an undeniably headstrong and stubborn woman and it was rare she ran into others with a similar nature. Especially here in Lhavit where everyone seemed mindful of their words and actions. Etiquette shmetiquette.

She stood there for a few ticks, holding the woman's gaze, unmoving. Indomitable. She stayed quiet, stewing over this woman's equal pigheadedness and outright strangeness and, for a moment, there was nothing but the sound of the slow, gentle waves beneath her as they lapped softly at the posts of the pier. The ocean that stretched out beyond the woman inky black as the star speckled sky above. Eventually, her protestations needed to be voiced and her thick brows pulled together, narrowing her pale blue eyes, "And I wasn't 'shrieking'." How dare! "I was calling to you. If it isn't evident... I don't like to be ignored." Candid as ever, the kelvic did not hold back.

Finally, she unfurled her arms and ran a hand through her own unruly tresses. She countered with further questions, taking this all on as some game, as if it were a competition as to who would break first, "What are you even doing out here at night? The water is freeeezing." Her suspicious flared again, but only momentarily.

Her thoughts suddenly shifted, much like her flying patterns from earlier, "Are your things nearby, Horns?" Maybe she could spin this... get this oddity to lead her to her possessions so she could pinch a thing.. or two.. or three.

It has not taken long for the newborn to readjust her expectations, seeing the childlike actions of the woman before her. She did not know why, but she could clearly see that the woman could not see past her own momentary needs and wishes. She watched her move about on the pier, trying to appear dominant. She was a bit intimidating, one could not deny that. The fallen being was naked and defenseless and a seemingly fierce shapeshifter was not her idea of a welcome party to the world of mortals, but she'll have to make do.

"I don't know what you call my kind here," she said. "I am a mortal seeming of a soul God Leth once plucked out of cycle of life. Apparently I have been returned." The horned woman did not know how comprehensible that would be to the morpher in front of her, but her first attempt was the most accurate descriptor she could muster. Given that it was one of the rare things her mind retained knowledge of, she would be willing to speak further of it if inquired.

She approached the woman as she spoke, offering her her hand to help her climb down. She sincerely hoped her gesture would be received nicely, though Gods knew that she had no idea what to expect. What if the world changed very much and creatures like this were a new norm? "I don't have any stuff, unfortunately. Quite literally just fell from the sky. If you have any ideas of where I could find clothes or anything resembling clothes, that'd be helpful."

She wanted to introduce herself, but thinking about her name, she had no idea how to actually say it. She could hear it clearly in her head, but it was not a sound of this world, not even something that could be roughly translated. "I can't say my name!" Her face twisted in anger, her fist clenching. The presence of her companion again became secondary to the processes within her mind. She was murmuring something, making weird sounds, clicking her tongue, but she already knew it was to no avail. It was not a sound of this world, its laws were not attuned to speaking it. She didn't know why the loss of her name hurt so much, as she has lost very much more. Perhaps this gull had taken her mind off of it for a moment, and this served as a reminder and symbolized the entirety of what she had lost to her. "I just can't." She quit trying. "You can call me whatever you want."

While their encounter was not too pleasant for either of the naked women, Mauriel decided to converse a bit. She was not eager to socialize right now, but she needed information, and Gods knew if she would manage to find a more welcoming soul. It was a bother to get the morpher to see past her own nose, as far as the Ethaefal was concerned, but with some patience she was filled in on all of the essential details. She found out that the source of the misty light was a big city, and they sounded peaceful and welcoming. The woman did not know her kind, so she was unsure how well she'll be received, but any civilization was better than wilderness.

The two parted ways as soon as Mauriel was able to get out of the situation, but the Ethaefal was not headed for the city immediately. She needed some time to herself, so she continued along the shoreline, trying to collect her thoughts.

Who was she?

Even she was unsure. She had no name, no place to call home, no past, and no culture. The only thing she had was her ambition. To heed the call. She looked up at the moon, and back towards the shining city. It was truly like a sign. Step by step, she headed towards the brimming light. Soon enough, after being exhausted by the steep terrain, the dawn would uncover to her her daily form. Albeit grief-stricken to lose what little she had of her celestial identity, her steps would soon turn into a flight. Up to Lhavit, and up to her new life.
