Sixth of Fall, 518 AV.

Even early as it was, Tythos was awake and dressed as the city started it day. He was clad in a black gambeson which was obviously his padded armor, but it also acted as an insulated barrier from the moisture of the mornings drizzling Autumn shower. He sat just within the opening of his small tent, using his folded cloak under him as a pillow to sit on while keeping a keen eye on the cast iron tripod that was meant to hold his cooking pot over the blazing camp fire.

The cooking pot was within easy reach, resting on the ground outside of his tents opening to gather upslow amounts of rain fall while he worked on making his meals for the day. Tythos had bought the ingredients he needed the night before at the Sea Side Market so he could just cook at first light. In total there were four Bluefish at a pound a piece laid wrapped in parchment, a loaf of bread, and an ounce of clary sage in a small pouch to all be cooked into a Bluefish stew.

Tythos retrieved a knife to cleanly slice the loaf into three general sections. Once that was done, he used a frying pan as a cutting board to dice one of the sections of the bread into several large cubes then dumped the contents of the pan into the cooking pot. He reached aside to grab one of the bluefish to lay it in the pan.

ImageAs Tythos started to work on carving up the fish, the owner of the tent opposite of his emerged from it. The owner was a woman with light camel colored skin and long twisted locks of hair. She never engaged him, but he always offered the woman a nod when ever he saw her the past two days in a neighborly gesture. No one really approached his tent, namely because of its proximity to her tent, which he took advantage off. He did not know why the woman seemed to have a bad reputation, but as a newcomer, he hardly cared as he watched her return his nod before going about her business.

Tythos returned his focus to the fish. He needed to see to the rough body, the tail, and liver. The first thing was easy enough to do as he held the fish by its tell to drag the back of the knife along its body from the bottom to its head, doing his best to angle the knife end like a pry to flake off as many scales as possible. He was overly vigorous with the process as he watched dark bruising along the meat along with deep indents. He then stabbed the tip of the knife into the back of the fish, using its flat end like a pry to open it down the middle.

It would be embarrassing to die from choking on a bone, which was why he dragged the knife up and down to open the fish's body like a book. He then started the slow process of picking out every bone by hand with the aid of the tip of his knife. The bones had many chunks of meat still on them which was obviously a waste, but there was still enough to eat by the end of the process. The Isur Chef then cut each of the fish fillets into small pieces to be easily eaten in a stew, then added them into the cooking pot.

Tythos was not really depending on the rain to fill his pot as he dumped the complete contents of his waterskin into the pot. But, it was not water. No. He had filled his waterskin to the brim with ale which would form the base of his broth. Afterwards, he sprinkled three pinches of clary into the pot before working on scaling the second fish with the same process and adding the meat to the pot. He lifted the pot by both of its handles, then placed it onto the tripod over the flame to start its cooking process after placing the lid on it.

[Tent City] A Meal for Scumbags

The morning progressed at a rather relaxing pace for the Isur chef. The soft hum of rainfall drumming against the top of his tent was leading the charge in making him want to take a nap. He shifted his folded cloak to lay further up on the floral tarp of his tent so he could use it as a pillow that he laid his head down upon. Tythos did not close his eyes, but rather kept his gaze forward to watch the world from the open potion of his tent.

Nearly twenty chimed had gone by before Sunberth decided to throw a little excitement into his day. He watched as a rotund balding human male entered into the scene of his tents view as if an actor in a play. His brow quirked when two voices started to yell at each other. Tythos had lived across from the woman for two days, never once having see her say more than two words to anyone.

Jala 's almost never raised a hand against anyone else unless they had struck first, she couldn't help but feel indignant rage pulse through her when she saw the man in her home – and she couldn't help but feel her blood pounding in her ears, pulsing her on. When the man started to jab a finger against her face yelling about the loss of a newborn child, and giving his ‘wife’ the abortifacients. In the middle of the mans yelling, he’d pulled the finger back to punch her right across the face. It was hardly a sucker punch with how obvious the wind up was. "How. Dare you?!" she bellowed as she slammed her knuckles into the man’s nose.

“You petching Cutwife!” The man yelled while making a tactical retreat out in front of the woman’s tent. He did not expect the woman to hit as hard as she did, which changed his body language into a more aggressive posture as if to truly fight the woman. Jala emerged two chimes later from her tent with some odd colored paste now splayed along the side of her face where she had been struck. It was then that Tythos sat up on his elbows to watch as the two trade blows with each other in a small scuffle.

“Keep your elbows tucked in.” He said with a slight chuckle now that he was a spectator with vested interest in the outcome of the fight. “Stay out of this!” The Bald Man yelled out after giving him a side long glance.

“What’s your favorite fish? And do you think cheese would go with it?” Tythos responded with a smirk. It was a random question that make both the man and Jala look at the Isur like he was crazy. Jala took that moment to reach down to the ground, grabbing a nice amount of dirt, then flung it at the mans face. She blinded the man for a moment, but it only caused the portly man to jump on the woman to avoid being repeatedly hit in the face causing them both to topple to the ground. The fight was the woman's challenge to overcome. Or rather, that was his thought as he stood up to his feet to exit his tent. He was not sure if he wanted to help her or not, but he would have a better chance to help now that he stood closer to them with his arms crossed.

"A spiced cheese might be nice. Although that begs the question of which spices to use?"

The man yelled out at him yet again with some agitation in their voice. "I don't petching care about your cheeses!" Pulling his hands up to grab at the struggling woman's wrists that he pinned beneath her. Jala was not making it easy, because every time the mans grasp encircled one wrist, she just bashed her elbow across his face.

As Tythos was an outside spectator to the fight, he canted his head to one side as he realized that this must be a normal aspect of her life given how calmly she was acting, even with the anger in her eyes. Her eyes glanced over at him for a moment before saying something that made Tythos want to help her. "Just used thyme and goat cheese with crushed peppers! Now help me or go away! I'm a bit busy. " She said while using her free hand to poke a thumb at one of the Mans eyes.
