Song for the Sky III

Tentatively, she stepped up the steps, gripping the stone with her left hand. She glanced at Narth to see he had opened his eyes, lazily watching her. She crossed her arms, the metal cooling her skin where she held it. She rushed a little too quickly and splashed into the rinsing pool, immediately realizing it was made of salt. She glanced back at Narth and he had closed his eyes again, relaxing, but a smirk rested on his lips. She wanted to stick her tongue out at him, but he wasn’t looking.

She rinsed herself thoroughly, until she was sure salt had invaded every inch of her skin. She pulled the metallic stone out of the water, hoping for two seconds that the salt had an effect on it. It shone, bright as ever, and she wasn’t survived.

Curious, Lani decided to test a small amount of auristics, she would not stare at it for chimes like she had this morning, but just wanted to see how the salt water affected it, and how the heavily trafficked pool she was in would look. She floated to the edge of the pool, keeping her stone under the water, and felt her conscious meddling with the djed in her stomach. She closed her eyes, guiding the djed through the now familiar path. It felt easier than when she tried this morning, perhaps it was because she had now done it more, or because she had done it recently. Within a chime she had the djed resting in her eyes, and opening them. The world took on its two dimensional way around her, and she gasped at all the colors. Every color on the spectrum could be seen, the different paths of people’s auras tracing throughout the room. The pools were centers of white, where the colors mixed, not the brown she would expect.

She glanced down at her rock, and found it’s aura was dimmer, but still the bright and strangely unidentifiable aura of the morning. Not wanting to risk her reaction to the magic that she had this morning, Lani let the djed drop back into her stomach, slowly guiding it back as she had guided it out this time. It was more comfortable to release it, and when she blinked her eyes a few times to refocus her vision, she did not feel queasy.

Her thoughts were stuck on the strange aura, why had the water dimmed it? Was it the water? Or the salt? Or the many many other auras that surrounded it? She didn’t know. But she had taken a long time in this quick rinsing pool, so she clutched the rock to her side again, and began glancing at the other pools for one to relax in.

Song for the Sky III

Lani didn’t even consider the one that Narth was resting in, looking at the clouds of steam rising, they all looked the same to her. She could smell strong aromas from them, but could not differentiate which was which. She wanted to try them all out. But the steamy salt water was making her groggy, and the multitude of options looked intimidating. Forgetting her embarrassment, Lani rose slowly from the salt pool and sauntered over to the pool where Narth lay. There was one other older woman here, and him. Lani stepped in the water, which alerted his attention. Green eyes flicked open and focused on her eyes.

With not shame, his own gaze carved down her body, and for some reason Lani didn’t care. She had her star with her. His gaze grazed the star, and she saw a dent in she brow as he recognized it, and then he continued on, down her patch, down her legs, and to her feet, one of which was in the pool already. His obviously lustful gaze made Lani feel some surge of power. He desired her, and she knew it. She may not return the lustful gaze, but she waited until he was done, rolling his eyes back and closing his lids again, before she stepped all the way in the pool. It took a minute for her body to adjust the steam frizzing her hair, and the oils seeping into her skin. She switched the rock from her right hand to her left, and glided towards him in the water.

There was a significant amount of space between them and the woman, but at the moment she didn’t care. She had her star, and she had the attention of a powerful man. She had heard her mother joke about the power of a woman, and while Lani had been introduced to sex at an average age, she did not see it as power. When she was younger she confused it with love. Recently, sex was an itch to scratch when she needed it. But in this very moment, she understood the power of it.

Lani didn’t want to coerce anything out of the Endal, except the knowledge that she could hold his lust inside her and contain his attention and desperation for a multitude of chimes. The fierce want for this control over him in that instant almost became unbearable. The other woman in the pool was forgotten as Lani leaned onto the stone bench that was carved into the pool where he sat. She wasn’t a stranger to sex, but she rarely initiated it, and was uncertain how to. Instead she gripped the star in her left hand, and reached up to him with her right, brushing wet lock from his forehead. This move had always worked on her like a charm when someone wanted her, so she figured it would do the same. It almost felt instinctual rather than a learned skill. He opened is eyes, and looked at her.

For the moment, she could not read his face, and moved closer, she knew what she could read. With a somewhat lithe movement, aided by the fluidity of the water, she hiked one leg over his waist so that she straddled him. One hand held the rock, the other she placed on his chest, running her nails through the hair there. She could not read his face, but she was well aware that he wanted her at this point. The lust of that control made her almost drunk as she leaned in, trying to capture his lips in hers. The steamy air made it hard to breath, but she didn’t mind him gasping in surprised when she pressed her hips into his. Nothing had connected but their lips, but there was hardly an inch of her skin that wasn’t on his at this point.

Like a trigger, as soon as her lips gently caressed his, he grabbed her. Large pale hands caught her hips, moving up her spine to her hair. With dominance she should have expected, he twirled all of her hair in one hand, and gently pulled it back. It did not hurt, but it separated her mouth from his. “Yes?” He asked in common, still unable to meet her eyes as his green orbs focused on her lips.

“I started this, you fool.” She murmured, as seductively a voice she could manage. It was not hard, her own lust had come alive and infected every part of her, including her voice. He didn’t understand her, but he understood her tone, and released her hair. She attacked him with vigor.

Lani did not care that they were in public, or that she had just met him, or that this act meant nothing. She didn’t think about the woman who was departing from the pool, or that she was now in charge of this man’s lust. She did think about the star in her hand, the star that hadn’t left her in three days, and even now, as she committed a lustrous act with the man who discovered the star with her, it remained. The metallic rock nestled between her white knuckles absorbing the energy of the moment, and even as they continued, Lani remembered that it was there. She wanted it there. It was hers.
