ImageMeditative thought brings peace, it shows you the harmony of the world around you. This what Malanos had always perceived, and it was what he was attempting to accomplish now. He sat in a corner of the main street and let the world come into him. Some masters taught that you were to shut everything out, but the man who had shown Matasol how to meditate had told him a wise saying. How can a man become one with the world if he is constantly ignoring them? He cannot, no he must learn to embrace all beings and become one with his surroundings to experience true tranquility. A true sense of peace.

This is the feeling that Malanos sought. He wanted to become one with the world, and by doing so he wanted to increase his ability to see what is clear and unclear. This concept may be hard for one to speak clearly, but it is most certainly harder for one to accomplish this method. This is what Malanos was finding to be true. He attempted to include everything into his thought, but he would either slip into a closed mind or he would start to pay too close attention to his surroundings and by doing so he would ruin his meditative tranquility.

After a few hours of meditation Malanos stood and began to prepare for his days work.

[Training] A day in the Streets [Closed]

Postby Malanos on January 6th, 2011, 1:39 am

Image Malanos had seen how people looked at him when he passed, for he rarely wore a shirt. He was very strong and he figured that this could bring at least a little money. He needed money badly so this while not a preferable form of income, was at least a potential form.

He took his weights and started calling those that stood on the street. "Come see the strongest man in Alvadas!" he of course had no way of knowing whether or not it was true, but hey a little lie never hurt anyone right?

With this he began to flex his powerful muscles. He took an Iron bar off the ground. One of his lifting weights that weighed 300lbs, and he lifted it high above his head with his right arm. He repeated this several more times. Then he moved on to the left arm, a crowd was beginning to draw around him. He quickly took a cloth and placed it on a log in front of him, making sure that everyone there knew it's purpose. He wasn't doing this for pleasure.

When he finished laying out the cloth he called out to the crowd. Asking for any man who thought that he was stronger than the Isur. Anyone at all.

One brawny man stepped forward and claimed to be the strongest man he knew. Malanos responded quickly with a laugh and a wink to a few ladies watching "well then you obviously don't get out much do yah? I'll show ye what a real man can do." He then instructed the man to place his elbow upon the log. He proceeded to mirror the action. Then gripping the mans hand he stated. "He who's arm touches the log looses. Let's begin!"

Malanos waited for about a second and a half after he called the start, and then he threw his whole strength into his left arm. Not only did the man's hand hit the log. It hit the log so fast that a sharp crack resounded about the street. "Now who's next!" shouted the Isur.

When nobody responded Malanos went back to lifting his different weights. He continued showing his strength in various ways until an hour before dusk. He then called a halt and gathered the money that he had been given.

OOCI will leave the amount of money earned up to your discretion ;)

[Training] A day in the Streets [Closed]

Postby Malanos on January 6th, 2011, 1:50 am

Image At the close of every day Malanos practiced his forms. Both with the Kan Dao and his bare hands. He did this to show his loyalty to the cause that he believed Izurdin had given him. He was to become the perfect being in mind, in body, and in spirit. The forms of combat gave him a venue to combine all three of these aspects. Therfor he practiced them with vigor.

He began with his bare hands. Starting in a meditative trance he slowly unwound his body, coming up to a standing position with fluidity. When he stood with knees only slightly bent his hands came forward and up, gaurding the face and upper body. With a grunt of exertion he leapt to the right as if avoiding an assailants blade. He the threw himself into a series of complicated blocks and strikes coming from every possible location. His arms, legs, elbows, and his knees were used in this form. It took him a good 10 minutes to complete it. When he finished he was breathing hard from the exertion of the form.

Malanos then proceeded with a form for the Kan Dao. He grabbed his Isurian Steel blade. It was a huge two handed, thick bladed, curved sword. He swung it in large circles, while moving his body fluidly sometimes with the blade other times against the blade. These movements were designed to show all the possible motions of a swordsman. He finished this impressive form by throwing the blade into a log. He then walked over to it and pulled it out with a flicking motion in the wrist.

He had now accomplished his duties...

A note for the future: If you’d like to receive more xp for each activity Malanos performs, try to be more descriptive about his actions. For example, instead of saying something like “He continued showing his strength in various ways until an hour before dusk”, consider describing the ways in which he showed his strength, and incorporating more details in the description. Also, please include a link to your character sheet by going to the User Control panel and inputting your CS link into your profile.
