It is the span that shouldn't exist, that much is for sure. Found crossing the Syka River, The Swinging Bridge providing foot traffic for those wishing to access the northern Maw without utilizing the beach. It is a large strong structure. One knows because the Ashta crosses it one at a time without hesitation, fitting through its expanse comfortably and not minding its gentle sway. Other animals use it too... herds of deer, tapir, and even big cats.
The adventuresome denizens of Syka who find it can cross it readily well enough. They will find not a single worn board, frayed rope, or any sign really that the bridge ever ages. It is always in perfect repair. Beneath the bridge, once in a while, those that use it can hear happy singing... songs older than anyone alive remembers now, some of which are hauntingly sad. It seems at odds to find a tragic song sung happily, but the guardian of the bridge believes in looking on the bright side of everything. It's what has gotten Sawtooth through the ages she's survived on her own. And though she has no bondmate living nor companions, she will tell you she never feels isolated in a jungle teeming with life.
One can always swim the river, but the bridge is by far the passage of choice for anyone exploring the northern parts of The Maw and the Jungle Wilds.

Sawtooth has been known by a lot of names in her life, but the one she holds dearest is the one she's stuck too. One of the first creations of Markus Kelvic, Sawtooth was gifted with immortality for her services to Myra after Markus made Sawtooth a present to his beloved sister. Sawtooth was created before the Alizran Team abandoned its use of reptiles as Kelvics. She's always resented the fact that they gave up on her coldblooded kind because they do wonderfully well in the sweltering heat of the tropics. Sawtooth patrols the Syka River as its guardian and Makutsi's Priestess. She also maintains the swinging bridge and can often be found in and around it keeping an eye on who uses it.
And just sometimes.... only sometimes.... does she demand tribute to those who cross its rope expanse.
