41st Fall, 520AV
It was early in the day and Ari’Ellin wanted to go spend some time in Alheas Park, enjoying the bizarre enigma that was the beautifully coloured plants. Humming to herself, she made her way across the peaks, finding the path that lead towards Kotex Temple, and then as the path split and veered away, she followed it cautiously, watching as the path moved into a patch of trees and finally emerged in the park.
The park always amazed her, with it’s beautiful array of colours, and of plants that she had never seen anywhere else. She loved the peace and quiet of the park too, and how she could spend most of her day there and still never run into anyone else strolling through the park and enjoy everything it had to offer.
Humming softly to herself still, she began to walk around the park, half wishing that she was an artist so that she could try to capture the beauty of the park for all to see, especially those that had never been to Lhavit and would never see the park with their own two eyes.
Unfortunately she had never been creatively gifted. She’d seen others pick up a tool and somehow manage to instantly be able to make something that looked somewhat decent, whereas when Ari had attempted to do the same thing, her creations had been pointless. They’d looked restrained and cautious and showed no natural talent for the things. She knew that if she wanted to try something creative in those ways, she’d have to work hard at it and have someone show her the basics first.
It had disappointed her at first, but she’d found that she had other talents she could throw herself into.
Glancing around she saw nobody around and calmly she made her way over to a pretty bench that seemed to be made of the skyglass that decorated so much of the shining city. It was a substance that she’d never seen before coming to Lhavit, and it had always amazed her. The way that the light hitting it produced such beautiful rainbows was enough to entrance her. It was something that she wished had been in Mura. She wished that she could take some to Mura herself to show to everyone, just to show them what they had been missing from the rest of the world.
Sighing softly she leant back against the bench, her eyes looking towards the sky and tried to remember some of the songs her mother had song to her as a child while she’d watch the sky. One of those songs soon found it’s way into her mind, what she thought was the tune before she found herself trying to sing along to it, her voice quiet and apprehensive as she did so.
“Early one morning,
Just as the sun was rising,
I heard a maid sing,
In the valley below.
O, don’t deceive me,
O, never leave me,
How could you-“
Her voice cracked slightly as she tried to change her pitch two suddenly, a grimace spreading across her face as the strangled sound escaped from her, and she found herself suddenly unable to recall the words, too distracted by the sound that she had made.
