The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

The season starts off with the city in high spirits and celebrating a prominent and political wedding; however, things quickly take a turn when citizens begin falling ill, and the team at the Catholicon determines the illness is caused by poison. It seems the city's water supplies have been tainted, and as the Constellations and Shinya struggle to fix the problem, Lhavitians continue to fall ill and water becomes a scarce commodity.

Overview of Season Events

☼ Daytime Event - ☾ Nighttime Event
☆ Moderated/Prompted Event

1st: The Watchtowers flare green, announcing the coming of spring and a new year.

☼ 22nd: The Heart's Festival begins as usual, but this year it is dominated by a particular celebration; the wedding of one Madeira Craven and Chiona Dusk. The wedding is the talk of the city, sometimes good and sometimes nasty rumours spreading, as is wont to happen with politically charged marriages. The Surya Plaza is rented by the Dusk Tower for the day, with the normal Heart's Festival decorations tweaked to represent the to-be wed pair. Wine and spirits flow freely, lavish food is offered at no charge, and even the Spinning Glimmers have been hired to put on an elaborate performance. All are welcome, but the Shinya presence is slightly higher than normal in the plaza for the day.

Note: This is a public event that can be used by anyone. Madeira will also be posting an open thread if you are interested, and of course you are welcome to PM her to plot further.

35th: Citizens begin falling ill with an unknown disease; symptoms include nausea, extreme fatigue, physical weakness, and hives on the face.

38th: After treating numerous people, the team at the Catholicon have discovered that citizens are being poisoned; an investigation is launched, and later that same day, it is determined that the city's water supply is the source.

40th: The city begins to supply citizens with water from the emergency water supplies.

45th: Emergency water supplies run out, and people are still ill. Lhavitians are told to avoid drinking or using any water supplied by the city, and to instead use water that is fresh and boiled from the Amaranthine River.

50th: The Constellations and Shinya set up a semi-permanent station in the Surya Plaza to help provide water to those that cannot venture to the Amaranthine and collect it themselves; those capable are collecting as much as possible for others, and reimancers are also working to help produce water.

60th: The amount of people being affected by the unknown poison has decreased, but there are still a number of citizens who are suffering from the symptoms. Rumours and conspiracy theories are beginning to spread as the Shinya and Constellations work to try and figure out the source of the poison. Lhavitians are assured it is likely just a fault somewhere in the piping system that will be fixed shortly.

70th: The Star Festival is held, and Lhavitians flood the streets in their finest attire, sparkling in shades of white, silver, and gold. Zintila, as she often is during this festival, is seen wandering the crowds and mingling with Lhavitians. The festival is slightly less lively than usual, as many Lhavitians stay home due to still feeling ill.

☾ 85th: Overnight, a mysterious woman sets up a stall in the Surya Plaza, selling high quality philters and potions. She claims she can cure the effects of the poison quickly, and also offers liquid to help purify water; however, her philters do not come cheap, and most cannot afford them. Her stall remains in the plaza for the remainder of the season.

Note: You may interact with this NPC freely, however please contact me if you wish to purchase any of her philters or if you have any specific questions about the NPC/what she is offering.

91st: The season ends, with celebrations more subdued than usual.

What's Your Poison?

The city's water supply is contaminated with an unknown poison from an unknown source, making drinkable water precious and scarce. Those in charge insist it is a fluke, and that the matter will be resolved shortly. Then, late in the season, a mysterious woman shows up claiming she can cure anyone who is ill faster than the team at the Catholicon can, and help purify individual water supplies; but her prices are incredibly steep. Is the timing too good to be true? Or perhaps she's looking to take advantage of a bad situation? It's hard to say, as she refuses to discuss much aside from her philters and what she can offer you...for a price.

Below is relevant information on the NPC; as I said, she is free to use, however if you wish to purchase anything from her or have any questions, please contact me.

ImageName: Tamara Venive
Race: Human
Birthdate: 455 AV
Languages: Common (Fluent), Kontinese (Fluent), Symenos (Fluent), Nari (Basic)

Tamara is an older woman with an air of mystery about her; she is just shy of being aloof, polite yet remaining distant from customers. She has no problem discussing her various philters and potions, and what a customer might need to solve their problem, but she tends to avoid or flat out ignore small talk or otherwise personal questions. She is quiet but intense, and can be rather persuasive.

Weather Throughout the Season

The season is warm and dry, with little rain, which does little to help the scarcity of water. People all across the city are experiencing dehydration, and crops are rapidly beginning to wither. The only blessing is that the season isn't extreme in its heat, and that it is plenty windy.
