44 of Winter, 510 AV

The sun was at its peak as Niah trudged through the wilderness heading towards the Sunset falls. She had no idea why was she heading there and what drove her to take over as Ara had fallen asleep a day prior. All she knew was that for the first time she had voluntarily left the shadows of her existence and poked her head out to see the sun and enjoy herself.

What she truly was, Niah knew not. Ara din not know of her existence... Ara's parents felt that she was a part of their death child that leached itself to Ara's soul and continued existing thus. As far as Niah knew she was a shadow... a shield... a guardian... she had been created to protect Ara and that was exactly what she planned on doing. One day Niah realized that her other side would have to face her existence and one day there would be no Niah and no Ara only Niahara as a whole as she should have been had those bandits not kidnapped her at five years old. But till then there was a long way to go... right now Ara was a young violinist who had no idea how the real world worked and Niah was a cynic, rash girl who hated the world.

As soon as the Falls came into view, Niah sighed in relief. Taking her double-bladed dagger from its sheath, she started twirling it around and throwing it at the trees in order to practice her aim. When she would get to the Falls, perhaps she would know what drove her there.

The sound of the tumbling water became louder and louder with each step she took. It was almost mesmerizing as each drop of water merged with billion others to create such a picturesque image. At least for Niah it was... though she disliked many people, the nature as a whole was totally different. It was still pure, untouched and it resonated with her untamed soul. Niah took a seat on a flat stone near the waterfall and closed her eyes listening to the rustle of the Sunset Falls.

[The Sunset Falls] Two sides to a coin [Morvik Sutinal/Open]

Morvik Sutinal walked through the wilderness. He had fancied a walk in the woods to clear his head. His steps, however, were much longer than a normal person's and he had soon ended up lost. Morvik took that as a sign from Wysar that it was time for an adventure. So he started walking in whichever direction the wind took him, hoping for an adventure.

After some minutes of walking, he happened across some waterfalls. Sitting on a stone, gazing at the waterfall was a very small human girl (relative to the towering Akalak looking at her). He wondered what she was doing there, just sitting on a rock. Maybe she's in some kind of trouble? he thought, his heroic but idiotic brain always jumping to the easiest conclusions. Can I do anything to assist you? Morvik called, totally oblivious to the fact that the girl might want to be left alone to her thoughts.

Niah put her dagger back in its sheath and took out her twin tamo daggers. Bound together in a leather sheath they formed a medium size rod which she started twirling around between her fingers accompanied only by the whisper of the wind and the thunder of the Falls.

Suddenly footsteps were heard near her and her eyes snapped open trying to see who was the intruder. A huge man, larger than any she had seen with dark blue skin was approaching. The girl frowned and jumped to her feet releasing her two daggers from their sheath in order to protect herself should she need to.

"Who are you? What do you want?" She knew she was being rude, but at her 5'10" the man towered over her and she felt intimidated. To her knowledge so far no one had purely good intentions. Everyone simply wanted something to gain and she wasn't going to let Ara get in danger because of her foolishness.

[The Sunset Falls] Two sides to a coin [Morvik Sutinal/Open]

Morvik gazed at the strange woman with undaunted eyes. Even if she was wielding a weapon, his simple personality put everybody into two categories. There were the bad guys and the good guys. Females almost always fell into the latter, unless proved otherwise. Its not that he was a sexist person, but he was very limited in his ability to comprehend such complex things.

Felavik gazed out of Morvik's eyes. He didn't feel any need to take over the body to protect Morvik. He felt absolutely no threat from the petite girl, and was uninterested in Morvik's forays into the unknown. He did keep an eye open however. If the girl attacked, Morvik would need his "instincts" to defend the first attack.

"I'm sorry" said Morvik, "I didn't mean to startle you. I was just wondering if you needed help with anything."

Niah glanced at the man suspiciously... he was a man. That was a downside in her view for she knew few men she could trust. And he was blue... why was he blue? Having remained in the shadows for most of the time, Niah knew little of the races that were spread across Mizahar. She knew of Konti and Kelvics, of Vantha, but those were humans too, they only had weird eyes like her mother and of Inarta. The rest was a mystery to her.

Seeing as the man seemed to bear no evil thoughts she lowered her daggers and sheathed them. They wouldn't have served her well anyway seeing the stranger's height. She glanced at him, measuring him from head to toe and decided to relax a bit.

"I'm sorry, I overreacted. I thought you were an enemy. " She reluctantly sat back down on her rock and gazed at the man, before answering back "I have no need for help, though." Realizing this may have come out rude she added "My name is Niah. You are welcome to join me should you wish, I was merely contemplating the Falls." Still perplexed by his blue skin, Niah asked in the most neutral voice she had managed "If you don't mind asking, what are you? You are certainly not human."

Morvik put on what he hoped was the face of an undaunted hero. I am not of your race. I am a proud Akalak of Riverfall, devoted to helping all those in need. If it is companionship you…err.[b]. As Morvik was attempting to offer his companionship, Felavik intervened. He only let Morvik run the shared body out of a sick sense of amusement. His heroics usually landed Morvik in unhappy situations and, hopefully, into good fights. Felavik had no intention of sitting on a rock and looking at a waterfall with a diminutive female human. The body’s head jerked to the left and right, then fell back into position.

Felavik stretched his arms. He hadn’t been in full control of the body for a week, and he was itching to get some fun in. And he thought he could see a good way to do so. “[b]Hey little human!
”, he called, “I hope you have something good in that bag of yours, because it belongs to me now.” Cackling, Felavik bounded the 5 (human) body-length distance between them in one long jump. Landing in front of her, he bent down and smiled at her evily. So, are you going to give it to me nicely?

Niah watched with mild curiosity as the man introduced himself as an Akalak, whatever that was. Just as he was about to deliver what probably was a heroic speech of some sorts he stopped and changed. Just as Ara blanket out as soon as Niah made her appearance so did Morvik change into someone else.

'He has a split personality.' Niah mused to herself 'This ought to be fun.' Just as the Akalak was getting used to his body again she gently stretched her arm behind her and brought out one of her double-bladed daggers, hiding it in the folds of her dress.

"Little human?" she gazed at him and her mysterious blue eyes were filled with amusement, mischievousness and something else, that couldn't be distinguished. "I feel insulted..." she said calmly then glanced at her small backpack. "Oh, this... nothing of importance." she shrugged then quickly threw it to his face. Taking advantage that her rock was wet and she was tiny in comparison to the looming, blue figure, she quickly slid of the rock and between his legs, running behind him as she took out her second double-bladed dagger and faced him, her eyes narrowing with repressed anger. "You are not the true owner of that body..." she said simply "Neither am I. But I won't let you harm Ara. Now you can either see that the bag is worthless and only has some food in it, or you can fight me, but after all I'm just a little human." Here a tinge of blood lust colored her eyes and she smirked evilly "...who likes to play with daggers."

Felavik snatched the flying bag out of the air, stumbling as he did so. He blinked with surprise and turned around, tracking Niah. He smiled as he saw that she had already drawn her knives.

"I'll take the food, but they aren't the most valuable thing here." he said, grinning. "I bet those pretty knives will fetch a decent sum. And anyways, its not all about profit, is it little girly? What about having a little fun with our pretty knives?"

So saying, Felavik drew his Lakan and slashed the air threateningly. Before he started his attack, Felavik remembered his training and dropped down low. Against a non-Akalak opponent, he had been taught almost since birth to stay lower to the ground than he was used to. He knew that the place that the opponent was most likely to attack was the stomach, the most open portion of any defensive stance. Keeping low, Felavik started to run towards the small girl, ready to attack her with the martial art technique that the Akalak elders had drilled into him since he was a child.

Niah's eyes narrowed as she watched her adversary... he was taller, stronger and faster. She had to keep him away from her, because if he caught up with her she wouldn't be able to get away and Ara would be hurt.

"These?" she glanced at her daggers and snorted "You can buy them in any decent bazaar. Even a street rat can afford them." She watched as he saw him lower himself to the ground. Yet there was a limit to how much a man his size can lower and she was still smaller than him. He was protecting his vital parts, that much she knew, but he didn't honestly think she would risk getting close to him.

Blade in her hand, she slashed the air and sent it flying towards the arm that was holding the weapon. In the next moment a second dagger, smaller this time and with a regular blade was in her hand and she sent it flying towards his head. At the same time she moved from her spot and ran as fast as she could away from the threatening blade.

"You know." she yelled "You have issues... trying to fight someone way smaller than you." Still as she was saying that the double-bladed dagger from her left hand moved to her right and another small dagger made its way in her left hand. Three more daggers and the small club holding the tamo daggers stood pierced to her belt.

Felavik laughed out loud thoroughly enjoying both the fight and his opponent's wit. He saw two flashes as knives sailed over towards him. He blocked the first one and sent it spiraling down to the ground. He attempted to snatch the other one out of the air, but he missed. The knife sailed past him and hit somewhere behind. Felavik frowned for a second, but was soon smiling again. Hopefully, she hadn't noticed his small failure.

"They may only sell for a small amount, but you seem to have an unlimited amount of them." he said as he saw her take out a multitude of extra knives from her belt. Morvik's constant bluderings and complete lack of any way to make them money, made life hard for the pair. It was only times like this, when Felavik took over and stole food or mugged someone, that were keeping them alive.

"And I do have issues, but you have much greater issues, namely me. So less talking and more fighting you scared little street rat."

Felavik bent down and picked up the double-bladed knife that was embedded into the ground near his right foot. He put it into the backpack that was thrown at him, and lightly tossed it behind him. Felavik now charged after the small girl, this time he had his knife held out, ready to ward anymore blows while he was charging. If he could just get close enough, or catch one of the blades and throw it back, he could end this.
