The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Waking Dawn

59 chimes after the 6th bell

It was quiet in Lhavit as shimmering flakes of snow fell from the heavenlies. Radiant hues of red and orange graced the behemoth’s damp brown fur as he sat in front of his pale stone cottage. The large creature was calm and serene in the dark as plumes of smoke burst from his nostrils, but it wasn’t smoke at all, rather, the exhalation of life. His eyes were sealed shut by wrinkled lids as the cold found it difficult to penetrate his dense coat. The tails of his cloak, wrapped around his shoulders flickered in the subtle embrace of the wind that stirred the assortment of dried plants hanging from his awning.

Quiet reflections of a troubled mind rattled his brain, but like his people, he would need to temper their assault. To meditate away the pain of his thoughts. He missed his people, his family, his home. The warmth of a jungle, filled with life, wasn't much different from the stone city in which he resided, the city that currently slumbered, yet to awaken to the warming rays of the often-underappreciated sun. He inhaled once more and the sound of his large lungs drawing in air was like the stirring of a distant storm. He exhaled once more, some thoughts, but not all, ‘whooshed’ away. His mind emptying of the worry that at times plagued him.

A door creaked from across the alley as a young fellow with fiery red hair flicked the piling snow away from his porch with a wooden broom. The scraping of the bristles against the cobblestone did everything it could to break the Jamouran’s concentration, but Honnor managed to maintain his focus. In fact, the rhythm of the strokes aided his mantra and allowed him to focus his breathing in a new way. He thought about the rhythm of the world around him and how he could learn to channel his focus during times of discouragement or chaotic motion just by flowing with the chaos over blocking it away entirely.

Time seemingly melted away as the creaking and slams of doors gave birth to new faces, a variety of people, people offering good mornings to their neighbors and set out to perform the duties that made up their daily grind. Survival was a difficult thing in this age, every day seemed to be a struggle, yet, there was happiness and hope beneath it all. A longing.

“Honnor, ‘ow are you mate?” came the guttural greeting of Brimley. A grizzled tavern-keeper that lived just a few houses down.

Honnor’s nose twitched. His eyes clamped tighter as he tried to quiet his mind.

“Ey,’ Brimley prodded, reaching out with the tip of his index finger to jab the beast in his massive chest, “you awake?”

A grunt rumbled from the creature as he swatted away Brimley’s finger but kept his eyes closed.

“Ya, ya, I can take a ‘int”

Honnor chuckled from within as he heard angry footsteps stomping away. He would make it up to Brimley, but now wasn’t the time.

A sharp inhale filled him with frigid air as he desperately tried to regain the focus that had been stolen from him like the Miza from a careless traveler outside of a den of thieves. It became increasingly difficult to remain hushed, even more-so now than before as he heard the pinging of a lute in the distance, accompanied by savory words that echoed emotions of moving forward, away from the tribulations of the past. If anything were to break him, it would be this, as each note entranced him. Captivated him.
