Erzotol Silverden

General Information

Race: Drykas
Birthday & Age :485 AV (26 years old)
Gender: Male
Height: 6'0
Weight: 164 lbs

Physical Description

Body built strong and sturdy from the harsh life on the grasslands, reflects by his calloused hands, and the weathered features of his face. Not entirely the most handsome fellow on the planes he also isn't the ugliest, as he takes good care of himself. Keeping himself clean shaven except for a small goatee, and his hair is shoulder length, and dark brown. His eyes carry a sort of weight of judgement with them, as they tend to take on the color of a silvery blue hue to them. Well muscled and slender, his body type allows him to be agile and still make some strong strikes. He reflects a air of determination, and also somtimes a hint of soft kindness underneath. Seen often wearing the leather armor made by his kin, and a white cloak to cover it, his armor is dyed in a variety of white and silver hues. His windmarks take the form of a spiraling, flowing tattoos that he bears along his shoulderblades and down his spine. They take the flowing form of leaves blowing in the wind. His skin is tanned and dry from sun exposure, it shows further reference to the effect that the land holds on him wherever he may choose to be at that moment. He holds just a few hidden braids.

Character Concept

Ever the challenger to authority this one, but not in a effort to undermine it, but rather strengthen it with tests of argument, and rivalry. Extremely fierce when it comes to defending his, his familys, and his clans honor he is also only loyal to his people, and followers of Zulrav as well. Deeply bonded to his horse, he takes exquisite care for it, doing his best to make sure it remains healthy, and strong and remaining thoughtful to its needs, often brushing it several times a day, and avoiding danger when alone out on the grasslands to ensure that the horse does not come to harm. He is not a very patient person, and often thinks it more prudent to settle disputes with outsiders with effecientcy. His pride is also a weakness of his as he can be rather foolhardy often starting things that do not end well for him. Mindful of his elders however, and his adoration for his horse, he is not foolish enough to rush into a battle alone, that he knows he cannot win. Above all of his pride and his self-assuredness, he is a survivor and knows when a situation is to dangerous, and will make sure whoever is with him at the time knows it, if they suggest somthing that he disagrees with.]

Character History

Born into the Silverden Pavillion of the Diamond Clan, he came into the world on the day that the Sea of grass was wracked by a massive lightning storm. In fact his family's Pavillion was almost lost on that night due to the sporatic brush fires that where erupting all around on the dry grass. Only due to chance wind, and perhaps a bit of divine intervention, where they able to put the fire out before it did any major damage, and kept the large tent and the grass around it from erupting into a blaze that could have consumed the tent and the land around it in mere minutes. Taking it as a blessing from Zulrav, the family then devoted into sacred prayer to the god for several days hence his birth, before once again moving their location onto the next prospective spot.

His family specializes in the raising of white foxes to help gaurd them, and help them while hunting and often employs these creatures with aid from families of the emerald clan in the training of them, in return for protection, and trade of supplies. Growing up with foxes all his life, he quickly developed a close bond with a baby white fox by the name of Laeon, his fur purest white, and his eyes a deep shade of dark brown almost seen as black.

Growing up, his father taught him and his brother intimatly of combat with the sword and bow as well as tecniques to use when hunting. At the age of 20 he was chosen by his strider, a Dun colored horse with a black dorsal stripe, and solid black legs and mane called Airaiet. He instantly fell in love with the horse, developing a close bond with the horse, their friendship strengthened by every passing day. Soon as he was chosen he recieved his windmarks and became a more respected member of the family.

He soon began to learn how to fight on horse back his father training him for four years all the way up until, the day he disappeared while out on a hunt. This loss did not affect him all that much and him being the oldest of his four siblings, 1 brother, and 3 sisters, left him to train his siblings and hunt with his brothers to provide for the family. Above all of his siblings in his immediate family, he adores his little sister Emizal the most, although he would never let anyone know this, as he perfers to keep the gruff, authoratative presence he adopted long ago. Although they tend to get in arguments alot, and from a outsider, look like they possessed a very disjointed family relationship, it is just there thing, a subtle way for them to let the other know that they care about them. As well among his favored cousins are Riki Stormheart and Anila Stormheart. Because his cousins belong to a seperate clan however, he rarely gets to see them now days. When he does however, he always makes sure that they are warmly greeted upon their arrival, and a night of festivites to celebrate there coming is surely in order.

Following an incompetency in his brother to pick up the magic of Webbing, Vskran took up the title of heir and became the next Ankal of the pavilion, soon bringing himself a wife, and more knowledge to the pavilion for in which to make it better. Although his brother has never looked down on him, or called him on his supposed failure, Erzotol still feels the shame, a burden that is his alone to bear.

On a side-note, Inaril Frostwind serves a constant hero and role model to him.

Origins of SIlverden

A century hence, the sea of grass was every bit as dangerous as it was now if not more so. Second son Hsavine, found himself traveling with prominent Emerald pavilion that provided him a place of shelter, and gave him food, and in return he did any work requested of him and more, bringing about talents in breeding beasts to aid in the hunts he went on regularly to help freed the pavilion. With the growing of his craft, and his skill with the blade, respect for the forsaken son grew slowly, yet no women showed any interest in a man who had no shelter to offer them, nor any means to support a family they surely longed for. There would not much to be had for him staying with the family that kept him safe in the rough times though, and when the pavilion finally came to a gathering he bid his farewells wishing them many blessings for their generosity.

As fast as his feet could carry him, he enlisted with the Watch, working hard with the women and men that patrolled the grass in the place of many pavilions in a effort for added protection and to investigate any and all trespassers on the grass. To them he gave his all, and in return he got so much more including formal teaching in tactics, and navigating the grass along with the blessing of being taught the ancient magic of webbing. The magic would be to his gain in the future to come he knew, and in the coming years he worked hard for the Watch day in and day out making it his whole life while all the while he saved each miza they gave him, trading for both his food and shelter more often than not. Progress was slow for the young, proud drykas but time after a few more years found him with a pavilion of his own.

Women where yet not lining up to wed a man of the Watch yet though for so often was he patrolling the grass, he rarely came across any women that would attach themselves to a man who risked so much. So he lived his life alone, patrolling the grass, and keeping to his pavilion but chores were hard to handle by his own so workers were paid out of his own pockets to tend to his pavilion while he kept away. Gradually he spent longer and longer times away from his home that was not yet a home until he went entire seasons without returning to it, his coin being sent via messenger to pay those who worked there in his stead. It suited him never the less, and his coffers continued to overfill with the miza's he received from his service with the Watch, and his side business back in his own pavilion of breeding foxes to help guard warriors, children, and women alike training them himself when he could spare it, or delegating it to his workers when he was away for seasons.

Life was hard, dangerous but such was the lot of one who dwelled on the tip of the sword and it was well for him. Disturbances became a common place in the ever tumultuous time that had so plagued the world of today and this day was no different as he rode hard, tracing the web to investigate one such trespass. Others rode with him as well, for the web told him that there was more than a few such intruders present and the way they moved seemed to prove intelligence such was their coordination. Under the nighttime sky webbed with stars he rode hard to see the blazing lights of a overturned caravan. From the grass flew up the arrows, some finding their places in the warriors that had accompanied him on the trip. A grimace crossed his features, and his heart thrummed hard in his chest for these men who threatened his friends lives would pay with their lives.

With practiced ease he leapt off of the yvas coming out of his leap with a tight roll. His sword appeared in his hand as he came out of his roll and quickly slashed across cutting down a surprised archer. Throwing his left hip back he sliced across horizontally disarming the swordsman charging at his exposed back. His foot went up immediately to kick at the man's shin, and jerk his sword across leaving a neat line across the man's throat. All around him death reigned both men and beast screaming their last. His fists clenched tighter around the leather strap of his shield, and knocking the blade of the next swordsman down, his shield shoot forward to crack into the man's face shattering his teeth. Stepping forward his stabbed into the chest of the man lying on the ground, finishing him off with a precise stab into the man's lung.

The fight went seemed to be going their way for a while, the proud men of the Watch fighting hard against the slavers, killing them three to one. Tides quickly turned against them though as one schooled in the ways of magic showed themselves, tossing bolts of flame to incinerate men left and right of him. The hardened men of the Watch had mages of their own, and the magic slinging soon ensued, bolts of eldritch energy flying over their heads to strike friend and foe alike. Through gritted teeth, he slashed his way through hordes of men, forming the center of the drive quickly forming around him. Like a spear they pierced the solid line of their enemies, Hsavine leading the charge, and at last he broke through the finale line of warriors to sprint towards the mage still yet sending magic at his comrades killing one with every strike. No more magic slung forth from his own side, the Watches own mages killed in the battle with those of the slavers, but they had done much to weaken the enemy before they passed on to cycle back into the grass.

The Watch had taught him to be fast when cutting down mages, and quick he was as he sprinted forward blade leading, twisting to the side to evade the mage's attack as he took notice of him, easily stepping past the lobbed ball of earth to pierce the chest of the wizard. Perhaps it was the madness that had so consumed the warlock or even sever overgiving but the lunged forward at him, further impaling himself on his blade, and energy shot randomly from him in all of its terrible forms from fire, lighting, to water, earth and air. Suddenly he found himself flying back as a shock of lighting shuddered through his sword to bite at him and send him flying away many feet to hit the ground hard. Still the mad wizard approached, his skin constantly rippling as his spikes of earth erupted from underneath his top to adorn his shoulders, and fire spread from underneath his feet burning the grass around him to ash. Desperate to put distance between him and the mage he scrambled backwards, moving as far as he could as fast as possible, tufts of soil and dirt flying up around him as he struggled to disappear in the grass.

The wizard was now bleeding heavily through his mouth and eyes, his face a grotesque thing, and he struggled to lift his hand even barely as random shots erupted from his palms, stinging the earth as much as it killed men around him. The sword imbedded in the mage's torso flew out in an explosion of gore, some unseen gale of wind spinning it high and far into the air to land a long ways away. His men had been quick to overcome the slavers after they had split the enemies forces and were quick to pick them off then with their defense shattered. Archers seeing now the terror that approached Hsavine reigned down death on the mage while warriors charged fearlessly forward to take down the wizard. They finally managed to take down the mad warlock but not before one of his sporadic bolts of magic shot from his hand, the res quickly forming into a spear of earth in midair and followed through to impel Hsavine through the right side of his chest, smashing the bones in his chest to splinters.

Men rushed on from all sides to check on their Rayvehk, to find Hsavine in the throes of death, spending his very last moments in the world locked in excruciating pain. Still yet devout to all they where as the protecters of the grass the clan Ankal's trusted, he spent his last breaths telling his men to rescue those he had sensed still yet traveling with the slavers, women and children captured and suffering under the burden of iron chains. Reluctantly the men left him, and finding peace in their departure, he settled back, wrapping his hands tight around the shaft of the rock spear and with the last bit of strength he had left, yanked it from his torso in a spurt of gore, and his eyes glassed over as the spear tumbled from his fingers, his arms falling to his sides. Coldness crept at the edges of his consciousness, and something within tugged at the very fiber of his being, yet still he clung on to life, hoping to at least see his men and bid them farewell.

They were coming he could hear them but he didn't expect to see what he did, a woman rushing to him, her white flowing blood stained dress flapping in the wind as she sprinted towards him. Her eyes met his own as she fell down to kneel beside him, firmly pressing her hand against his breast and sending strange power flowing within him lending him strength to fight the encroaching darkness. Something passed between the two, and before he submitted to unconsciousness he leaned up to press his lips to that of the healers and to his surprise, she returned it. He fell from awareness with a smile on his face, his head cradled in her delicate hands.

When he awoke his men cleared many things up, saying that by his own orders he saved her and a young boy from a raving slaver still yet clinging to life, killing each of the slaves as fast as he could out of some crazed impulse. The woman, devout of Rak'keli, had healed him and brought him back from the brink of death to the realm of the living. She was the one who tended to him those many days in the ramshackle tent in the sea of grass while his brothers and sisters of the Watch stood guard and sent out requests for assistance through the web and within a ten-day reinforcements had arrived and he was on the back of a cart, propped up with plush pillows with the beautiful healer and a boy to keep him company. He regaled them both with many tales of heroism and adventures he had shared among his companions and she told them tales of her own life in a city so far from where she found herself now, of a place were the stars seemed to come down from the heavens to touch the earth below.

Time would go on between the two, and find themselves inseparable even when he returned to his own pavilion to recover on his own. With her and the boy, life was good, and come the next summer they would wed, wearing Chevas marks on their neck to mark the truth of the love. The boy was just as much family to him as well, and he taught well the child the traditions of the drykas and taught him in the ways of battle much like his father taught him. He hung up his sword, taking his leave from the dangerous life of being a Watchman in favor of risking his life for more worthy things like watching over his wife, his child, and the child yet growing within her. Their first child, a son, was born on the day of one of the harshest storms Hsavine had ever seen, and so continued the tendency down the line of his children's children. So marked the beginning of the Silverden pavilion, holding reverence for both Rak'keli and Zulrav both who held such a impact on their lives. Gracious for every breath they take on the grasses, every day is a blessing, and every chance to prove themselves a gift from those that seem to watch over them.
