Ageru hadn’t had much of a day. It went by slowly for him, almost at an agonizing pace, but as did all days as he avoided human contact for fear of what he might find out about them. Well, more so fear for his safety than anything else. Sometimes people didn’t want you to know their desires and thing that were well guarded urges, so to say. Having brushed up against a lot of people in the past he knew somewhat the limitations of his ability. Some of what the people wanted were good, others were questionable, but despite what he felt about it he felt compelled to complete whatever it was. Once he about killed a person over another’s desire. They were dangerous, deadly, but mostly they were humane.
Finding it hard to really live in the city of Syliras he found refuge just outside, guised as a stray cat and the wilderness being out of most people’s way he didn’t have to fear about the casual contact that he so dreaded in the marketplaces or even just within the city itself. The wilderness was a sanctuary or sorts for him, freedom to live not of the will of others, but by his own will. This mark was really a double edged blade, but it was his gift, and he would have to bear it. It wasn’t like he regretted that night… When he got it, no, quite the opposite, it was life changing, and for better or for worse was yet to be found out or even thought upon.
During this particular day he had amused himself by chasing small bugs, especially liking the ones that hopped around or flew. It was amusing, and when he would catch them, well, it was a quick, if not meager meal. If he caught enough he would be full, but that would rarely happen and he would usually have to resort to a quick escapade to Syliras marketplace for a fruit or two, not liking meat too much, but would eat it if it was set before him. He had no right to be picky.
Though even with his amusement the day passed slowly and so to perhaps make time go by just a little faster he would find a nice spot to sleep. Of course, the most interesting (and logical) spot for a kitty to take a quick cat nap was nestled snugly in one of the many branches of one of the many trees here in the wilderness. Though, upon awakening he felt this wasn’t the best of ideas and really… Well, he was scared of heights, and so paralyzed by this, sudden if not unnecessary, fear all he could think to do was meow for help. Hopefully someone would hear him.
Having gone on for quite some time he was about to give up his little game and just shift and jump down… Though even being a human he was still unsure if he could do so. Confused by this sudden fright of heights he just laid there until he heard someone walking in his general direction. Giving it all he got he let out a desperate meow, one to go in the books, and, yes, it caught his attention. When the other would continue to investigate he would continue to meow until the man was aware that he wasn’t beyond the bushes but directly above them.
