A Mrooow!!!! for Help (Ageru)

Dimitri nodded at the gate guards as he began heading out. He had his sword on his left hip, quiver of arrows on his right, shield on his back, and whitewood bow in hand. He hoped to get something easy, a doe or perhaps a coyote. He immediately made his way up the road, walking for maybe a bell, seeing an occasional traveller or patrol Knight. He finally made an abrupt turn, cutting a swath through the trees. His master told him one of the best ways to start tracking an animal is to go to a watering hole and find the tracks.

He walked for nearly a bell without so much as stumbling on a squirrel. He finally came upon a small pond. He neared the edge, really hoping there wasn't anything in the water that found him tasty looking. He looked through the mud seeing small bird tracks and small furry creature tracks. He didn't know which though. He eventually found a medium sized paw print, he wasn't sure but it looked similar to a cat's, but much, much larger. A mountain lion would be a good hunt, and he didn't know of any other big cats in the area. He followed the tracks as the wandered lazily through the trees and up a small hill. He hiked quietly up the hill when a Mreoooooooowww!! filled the air. It sounded to small to be a mountain lion. He kept hiking up to see what was at the other side of the bushes.

A Mrooow!!!! for Help (Ageru)

Postby Ageru on April 5th, 2011, 1:38 am

Ageru hadn’t had much of a day. It went by slowly for him, almost at an agonizing pace, but as did all days as he avoided human contact for fear of what he might find out about them. Well, more so fear for his safety than anything else. Sometimes people didn’t want you to know their desires and thing that were well guarded urges, so to say. Having brushed up against a lot of people in the past he knew somewhat the limitations of his ability. Some of what the people wanted were good, others were questionable, but despite what he felt about it he felt compelled to complete whatever it was. Once he about killed a person over another’s desire. They were dangerous, deadly, but mostly they were humane.

Finding it hard to really live in the city of Syliras he found refuge just outside, guised as a stray cat and the wilderness being out of most people’s way he didn’t have to fear about the casual contact that he so dreaded in the marketplaces or even just within the city itself. The wilderness was a sanctuary or sorts for him, freedom to live not of the will of others, but by his own will. This mark was really a double edged blade, but it was his gift, and he would have to bear it. It wasn’t like he regretted that night… When he got it, no, quite the opposite, it was life changing, and for better or for worse was yet to be found out or even thought upon.

During this particular day he had amused himself by chasing small bugs, especially liking the ones that hopped around or flew. It was amusing, and when he would catch them, well, it was a quick, if not meager meal. If he caught enough he would be full, but that would rarely happen and he would usually have to resort to a quick escapade to Syliras marketplace for a fruit or two, not liking meat too much, but would eat it if it was set before him. He had no right to be picky.

Though even with his amusement the day passed slowly and so to perhaps make time go by just a little faster he would find a nice spot to sleep. Of course, the most interesting (and logical) spot for a kitty to take a quick cat nap was nestled snugly in one of the many branches of one of the many trees here in the wilderness. Though, upon awakening he felt this wasn’t the best of ideas and really… Well, he was scared of heights, and so paralyzed by this, sudden if not unnecessary, fear all he could think to do was meow for help. Hopefully someone would hear him.

Having gone on for quite some time he was about to give up his little game and just shift and jump down… Though even being a human he was still unsure if he could do so. Confused by this sudden fright of heights he just laid there until he heard someone walking in his general direction. Giving it all he got he let out a desperate meow, one to go in the books, and, yes, it caught his attention. When the other would continue to investigate he would continue to meow until the man was aware that he wasn’t beyond the bushes but directly above them.

A Mrooow!!!! for Help (Ageru)

Postby Dimitri on April 6th, 2011, 1:21 am

He peered through the bushes and saw absolutely nothing in the clearing. He looked around suspiciously, looking all through the woods. He then heard another feline cry, closer but not in view. It pierced his ears once more. This time he looked up and in the branches saw the source of the sound. It appeared to be a cat, surprisingly stuck. How many cats can I save this season...? He honestly couldn't figure out how a cat in the wild would get stuck. Maybe it's just a really dumb cat or something.
He knew he couldn't just leave it there however, that conscience of his always leading him right.

He learned after many a fall, that climbing up didn't often help. It typically ended up with him sore, on his back. He held his arms up, cooing at the cat. Hopefully it would leap down and not scratch him up too much. He smiled at the cat as loud, almost womanly scream filled his ears. But he knew it wasn't a woman screaming. He turned and saw a mountain lion on a branch behind him, snarling. He let loose another scream and leapt from it's branch to the branch the cat sat upon. The branch wobbled warily under it's weight. The lion screamed once more at it's feline target.

Ageru was glad that the other had finally noticed him after some tries himself. Nothing was as satisfying as having hard work pay off. He didn’t know what the other thought of him, but did it really matter? He was offering to help him down, but… It looked like he had to jump as the other held his arms out to catch him. There was no way he was going to jump. His claws dug into the bark some more as he was never ever going to jump that far of a distance. Nope, no way, no- He about jumped out of his pretty cat skin when he heard a fearsome roar.

Ok it looked like he had to jump. Taking a moment as he heard another roar of the lion to gather up his courage he leaped from the branch and onto the other that was offering to help him. He wasn’t going to let some lion eat him and wondered if he was a cute enough kitty that the other would protect him. He meowed almost pathetically as his claws dug into the clothes of the man just hoping to stay at least connect to him somehow.

A Mrooow!!!! for Help (Ageru)

Postby Dimitri on April 7th, 2011, 6:55 am

Dimitri winced in slight pain as the cat's claws sunk through his shirt and into his skin of his chest. He normally would have pulled it immediately off but the yellow fangs and screaming voice of the lion kept him from doing so. He wasn't afraid, but he had to be smart. He honestly didn't want to die for a mere cat but would. He slowly reached for his shield as he stared the feline in the eyes. He got it and began to raise it. He then quickly reached for his sheathed sword and raised his tower shield. The creature pounced onto the shield, smashing it into Dimitri and his feline accessory. He lost his balance and fell backward, feeling the lion leap off to the side. He landed on his back and rolled backwards head over heels. His sword flew free and landed in the dirt. Dimitri quickly stood up, the scared feline clinging to his chest still.

He looked around for a sign of the lion. He didn't see it anywhere in the brush. He began moving toward his sword. He kept his eyes opened when movement near his sword caused him to spin and face it. The lion was standing over his sword, snarling. He approached it slowly, shield raised. It snarled and swiped at the air. It leapt at him and landed on his shield forcing him to the ground once more. Dimitri laid back and lifted the shield a bit, struggling beneath the weight. The creature crawled up the shield and it's claws dug in to maintain balance. When it's head popped up, Dimitri punched it in the head. He then he placed his feet at the bottom of his shield and kicked it up, flipping the lion over his head. He got up, ran to his sword and faced the angry creature, cat still hanging from his chest.

A Mrooow!!!! for Help (Ageru)

Postby Ageru on April 17th, 2011, 4:12 pm

The poor cat was scared to death at the rather angry mountain lion. He had no idea what it was so mad about, but he guessed it was one of the dangers of venturing out into the wilderness. Yes meeting mountain lions wasn't exactly the least stressful way to spend the day. Too scared to react when the shield bashed against him he just dug his claws deeper into the man to maintain his death grip on him. He wasn't falling off, no way, no how.

Seeing a chance when the lion was flipped over his saviors head he jumped down, not wanting to distract him much more and started to run into the forest. He knew he couldn't outrun a mountain lion, but if he kept a safe distance while he watched, and listened for the sounds of battle he could remain relatively safe. Or at least that was the plan.

Stopping after a bit he turned around to see if the lion was following, and if so then hopefully the man would be too. He was no fighter, he had no training, but the guy seemed to know what he was doing. He nodded to himself confident in the strength of his savior. If he wasn't being followed he would slowly make his way back to the scene and watch from the shadows the fight.

A Mrooow!!!! for Help (Ageru)

Dimitri tried to ignore the claws digging into his chest, causing him to grit his teeth. Why the furry little troublemaker was still clinging to him, he hadn't the slightest idea. As he tossed the lion away, the blasted furball extricated himself and ran off. As Dimitri turned, sword now in hand, he saw no trace of the mountain lion. He looked all around trying to see if he was about to be ambushed. The wind gentle swayed the tree leaves as Dimitri listened. He then heard a snarl and a crashing of leaves in the direction the little cat went.

Dimitri rushed that way, to see the lion rushing toward the little critter. Dimitri didn't have time to reach it first so he smashed his hilt hard on his shield, creating a loud metallic boom through the woods. The large cat froze and hissed at him. He struck his shield again. This time the poor creature slinked off, determining this meal was no longer worth the effort. Dimitri set his shield down and leaned against. He sighed, things he did for furry little critters.

A Mrooow!!!! for Help (Ageru)

Postby Ageru on April 26th, 2011, 5:39 pm

Agerus heart sank as he saw the mountain lion coming after him with no one seemingly in tow. He couldn't out run that thing, but he turned tail and darted again thorough the forest towards the direction that he had run from, towards that person who was bent on fighting such a creature. Skidding to a stop when the man emerged from the brush, the mountain lion right behind him, and the cat still not close enough to be within running distance. He saw the man bash against his shield, creating a loud metallic ring.

After that the lion seemed to stop, and give up, as Ageru was glad the lion decided to leave. He watched the cat slink off and turned to his real savior and meowed happily as the man leaned against his shield, seemingly exhausted. He began to walk slowly towards the man before second guessing himself and so sat down. His tail was flicking happily behind him as his cat eyes watched the guys movements.

Something seemed a little off... His gnosis mark didnt seem to have affected him. If he could smile he would. He didn't notice any compulsion or any hint as to what the man wanted even though his claws had dug enough into him to have activated his ability. Strange, he meowed again the whole time he was in thought he had been staring at him, maybe intense fear or the feeling of dread had preoccupied his mind enough ignore the urges brought about, or something. He really didn't understand it himself.

Whatever it was he was going to figure it out. Standing back up he walked towards the guy again and when he would reach his legs he would purr happily and rub against the mans legs as he leaned against his shield. His hopes were to be picked up and therefore activating his gnosis again, if the mans desire or want was something he could accomplish he would go for it, of course as payment for defending him against the mountain lion. That was close call, and he would be a meal for the beast if the guy didn't intervene.

A Mrooow!!!! for Help (Ageru)

Postby Dimitri on April 27th, 2011, 6:16 am

Dimitri saw the cat rubbing up against his leg. He smiled down at it and scratched his head. He was happy the cat was okay, and friendly. Nothing would've annoyed him more to save the cat only to get clawed or bitten by it. "You're welcome girl." He picked up his shield and placed it on his back. He then scooped the cat up in his arms, cradling it in an arm, as he rubbed it's head and fur. He gave up on the hunting and turned back to Syliras.

As he walked through the woods he sighed at not being able to hunt and find an animal. He needed to practice and some spending money was always nice. He had hoped to use his bow some but alas was not to be. He would have to practice more at another time. He meandered through the trees, enjoying the breeze, relaxing after the encounter with the wild cat. He knew he couldn't keep the cat in the squire dorms, but he could take it to the Tooth and Claw pet shop. Maybe some little girl would adopt it. He chuckled as he remembered the cat he had saved not to long ago for a girl. He still had a ways to go to exit the woods.

A Mrooow!!!! for Help (Ageru)

Postby Ageru on May 5th, 2011, 1:49 am

Ageru looked up while he was rubbing against the others leg just in time to see the hand reaching down to scratch him on the head. Gosh, even though he told himself he didn’t like physical contact, this was just too good to pass up, but most of all he was just glad he was ok. Not only that but the man seemed fine too. He could see a faint smile in the mans eyes as the cat watched him place the shield on his back, and Ageru was happy enough not to complain when he was called a girl. It was kind of hard for humans to tell, or so he thought, because in his cat form he was mistaken as a female all the time. He learned not to let it bother him, not that he cared anyways that he was a rather attractive kitty.

When he was scooped up into the arms of the man he let himself settle right in, he could feel his gnosis taking effect, though it was at first touch, it was when the man scratched his little furry head. Soon he would get a glimpse into the mans desires and as they were walking through the forest he would ‘see’ them, and vaguely know them.

As they walked he could feel himself getting more and more comfortable in the mans arms, as if just wanting to stay there forever. It was a comfortable ride, and a quite well chosen on as he didn’t have to walk. Ageru wasn’t lazy when it came to work, its just in his time of being fee he has developed a thing for not liking to walk a lot. There would be a smile in the cats eyes as he would let out a satisfied meow along the way wondering where he was being taken. Though the walk in the forest was nice, and he could tell they were near where he had hid his belonging in the forest. If they went in that direction he could run off and grab his stuff and thank the man in a more human form. It was a possibility.
