Proposition: "Location: temple of Hazzingar"

Postby Tandra on January 27th, 2010, 12:19 pm

okay, this is what i'm thinking!

12th of the 63rd Winter
a group of Charoda youths are exploring an ancient ruin from before the Valterrian
as they delve deeper into the ruins, they come accross a locked door.
they struggle, and heave but nothing happens, until one of them finds a switch.
as the switch is used, the door opend, unleashing a long-dormant monster.

this creature's name is "Hazzingar" the bringer of tides.

in a single swipe, the beast killed the Charoda, and blew the ruins appart.
it then proceeded to the surface of the ocean, where it destrowed a small village in a single blast of water from it's nostrils.

with it's millenium imprissonment, the monster crawled onto the area of the local village he just wiped out, lay a single egg and died.

days later, a trader came by and say the exoskeleton of the beast, and believed it to be a god in the flesh.

now, there is a religious following at the exoskeleton-turned-temple, and they all worship the yet-to-hatch egg

________________________________________________________________

i wish to make a new location, this is the history of the place and it's basic idea.

i hope you will consider it.

(ps: the creature looked like a massive dragon, with massive tentacles and crab-like legs on it's bottom. it was as big as a city and weilded the power of a hundred armies.... good thing it died and the egg still has yet to hatch)

Where exactly do you want to put it?

Also... I don't know whether or not this was your intention, but it sounds a lot like one of the plot devices from WoW.

That sounds very....interesting. I suppose it could work, but, it does seem a little cliche.

Ooh! We could have two factions, one who worships the Skeleton and wants to protect the egg, and one who wants to destroy it.

What about a third faction that wants to make an omelet? I'm pretty sure that would remove any cliche the idea has.

On a more serious note, someone should write up a complicated and ambiguous prophecy about the egg that no one actually understands

I.E.
Original text -> "And the egg hatched and the creature remade the world"

Group A translates remake as Destroy

Group B translates remake as Save

Actually means that the Monster creates an island to live on in the middle of the ocean...ta-da world remade

..............
HAHAHAHA

Omelet.

"Born of blood, of hate, of fear, an egg of silver and grey.
Born of a creature of sea, land, and air, everything else is but prey.
In the future they'll speak of a day the sea whirled
And the egg hatched and remade the world"
