Assembled near the edge of the Outpost's most southerly approach, Elderbay stables is a large, black tiled barn capable of housing a sizable amount of livestock, and serves as the prime location for travelers and merchants to safely and confidently store their animals after a long day's trip. All horses and mounts are held here, as the city itself does not have ample accommodation for them. Black Sun and Ebonstryfe have a separate section near the back of the stables where their mounts are taken care of with special care.

Run by Masala Yune and her mostly kelvic staff, the establishment enjoys a growing reputation for good care and exceptional service. With an additional acre of land to call its own, Elderbay is also capable of providing exercise and training for both horse and rider should either require it.

In the beginning, there were few attempts at ever establishing a proper and respectable stables for Ravok. As one can imagine, a city floating on a lake and is entirely accessible via a sprawling network of canals leaves little need for any kind of mount. There was however, a modicum of necessity for housing and sheltering one's beast of burden at the Southern Outpost, a place where merchants and travelers would often make their final stop before continuing their journey to the hallowed city. The most promising of these early endeavors was spearheaded at the time by a lowly city guardsman by the name of Tanner. Unfortunately, the man's passion for all things equine was soon found to be severely lacking, and his expectations for turning a quick profit with his rundown shack were inevitably dashed by cruel reality.

A gambler of exceptional notoriety, Tanner eventually managed to maneuver his way into the prestigious rank of captain, while at the same time also earning himself a tidy fortune at the cards table in the process. A few weeks after his early retirement, the guard captain passed away quite unexpectedly. Upon his sudden death, his slave and longtime mistress was not only granted her freedom through his will, she was also gifted with most of his accumulated wealth as well, something the captain's wife of twenty years was none too happy to learn. With her new found freedom and fortune, Masala Yune immediately focused herself on the run down, pathetic excuse of a stables that her former master had thrown together in his ignorance. Almost overnight, the myrian half-blood had transformed Lakeside into what Elderbay is today, effectively turning her love of horsemanship into the dream she always longed for.

A pitfighter of little renown, Masala was originally a slave who fought all of only three time within Ravok's bloody arena before inevitably catching the eye of her future master and lover. Her deep seated passion for husbandry and horsemanship initially caught the guard captain by surprise, but in the end wore off on her master, eventually leading to the inspiration behind the original Lakeside Stables. Mortified by what she saw of her dream's fruition however, Masala found herself irreparably troubled by the monstrous thing she had apparently been responsible for. When her master eventually passed away, his riches and estate going solely to his slave, Masala wasted no time in fleeing the wrath of his wife's family and firmly establishing herself not four hours away at the Southern Outpost. A few months later and Elderbay was born.

While Masala's passion maybe all things horses, tragically enough, she also has an unruly soft spot in her heart for gambling as well. A despicable trait she picked up from her previous master, the myrian half-blood hates it with a burning passion, but place a pair dice in her hands, or ask her to take a bet or two on a race, and all of a sudden the hardened pitfighter can hardly help herself from diving head first into the challenge. It’s an issue that has unfortunately caused the young businesswoman a great deal of trouble in her short time as owner of the stables. To make matters worse, Yune has proven time and time again that she isn't exactly the savviest of entrepreneurs. Her dire lack of any real business sense usually sees her kindness and ignorance exploited to a staggering degree. That said, most know enough to be careful when doing so around her, as Masala's time away from the pits has hardly withered her skills for bloodshed any.
