3rd Day of Summer, 511 AV.
Evening/Dusk.
Outskirts of Sunberth

Avalon held her head in her hands as she looked to the wreck of a city before her. Mining equipment could be seen strewn along, and at this, she was certain:

She had arrived in Sunberth.

Since leaving Avanthal, Avalon hadn't quite adjusted to the blistering heat of the land outside her icy homeland. She had begun traveling east in search of acceptance. Being over the age of twenty and without spouse nor children, she had been deemed practically useless. The pressure of the necessity of extending her family tree weighed her down, and more than anything she wanted to escape. She wanted to find her voice, and to be able to be a stronger woman, to be less timid and more daring. Perhaps fate had directed her to this city of lawlessness.

On the other hand, she had heard of the dangerous people that roamed the streets of Sunberth. There were gamblers, slavers, thieves, you name it. Insanity paced the streets of this place, and she could practically smell it. If any a place were to mold her into a more wary woman, this be it. But she had yet to muster the strength to enter.

Avalon ran her slender fingers through her silky iridescent hair, the highlights catching the rays of the waning sun. As she began to feel discouraged, her eyes glistened a silky royal blue, shaded beneath long, dark eyelashes. She looked around at her surroundings, growing paranoid and nervous. Guidance escaped her as she stood there, looking awkward and out of place, no doubt. She thought to herself, Foolish... A Vantha in Sunberth? What was I thinking?

Sunberth was such a depressing place...

No matter what direction your eyes settled upon, the scenery, the environment, and more significantly, the company changed little. From the irritating land sharks, to the frustrating scam artists and resident criminals, nothing held a subtle, elegant balance-- though this didn't mean a balance wasn't existent. No, that was far enough from the truth; equality existed, but only in the form of invariant fluctuations in crime, and scandal. Why anyone would settle on making such a soiled city their 'home' was beyond the rational, and far out of reach for anyone with ambition to settle for.

Only a few more months...

Raheal thought to himself, pondering on the whereabouts of his future as he rested on top of one of the numerous buildings that compiled the city. Large standing structures scattered strategically throughout the expanse of modernized and cultivated land. The sun's rays dancing down from the heavens, kissing the skin of all who swanned aimlessly down the streets, and those who set in the open, exposed to its light. The Kelvic simply stood physically motionless, allowing his mind to wander off into profound thought. A size for the better part of his vernal life, the realization of freedom sometimes escaped him. If it wasn't for his good friend Aberdon, he'd most likely still roam down towards the local fight guild and promote his strength to please others and feed him for the night.

With his mind finally settling in with ease, and his eyes clear to the open expanse of blue in the sky, Raheal sighed. The resplendent hazel of his almond eyes peering out into the day's ceiling, squinting and adjusting to the sun's hostility; the light reflecting off the surface of his dark, though finely fashioned hair as his upper torso left nothing to the imagination. Only garbed in the protection of briefs and loose tan pants, his upper, chiseled physique glistened in the morning's assemblage. Standing upright, taking to the ledge, the Kelvic with a powerful leap, scaled downwards, falling down the side of the building. Though a normally fatal fall, his roots prevented any serious damage. Landing with an ummph, Raheal crouched on one knee, only to stand up, and unknowingly directly in front of Avalon. What would see think?

Avalon shook her head at the spectacle of this worn city. It was too late in the evening to leave. She would surely have to find a place to stay, an inn, or some such... If she made it that far. Her weight shifted from foot to foot uncomfortably as she sighed. How had she managed to land herself in this dump of a city? She felt as if she would be safer out in the wilderness, which said a lot, considering the dangers that roamed around in the bowels of the dark night. With a hefty sigh once more she made up her mind she wouldn't be getting anywhere by just standing around.

The sudden and unannounced thud directly in front of Avalon made her jump and stumble backwards, startled. Panic gripped her, causing her chest and stomach to knot up in an unsettling fashion. She clenched her fists at her sides, ready to defend herself with whatever she could muster up. The figure that landed in front of her was a sight to behold, for sure. Who wandered around a city half dressed? Oh wait. A resident of Sunberth would. Such a lawless place.

This figure righted himself to stand, leaving Avalon lost for words until she knew his intentions.

The sun beamed down with rays lit anew; sensations of orange and lucent yellows complimenting the lightly bronzed nature of his complexion as the Kelvic's torso glistened in the afternoon's sky. Though not mildly conscious of how attractive he was, his animal prime truly enjoyed and bathed in the sun. A creature ordinarily raised in such conditions that involved intense heat, the sun was more then welcomed during such an occasion. Hell, it was the only acceptable trait about Sunberth that Raheal would acknowledge. Everything in comparison seemed sub-par through his hazel eyes, as if the assumed brilliancy of the criminal syndicate city failed juxtaposed to nature itself.

Oblivious to the woman behind him, the dark-haired Kelvic almost motioned to retreating forward until his keen ears caught onto a thud. “Did I startle you?” Eyes still facing forward, a soft, almost compassionate tune echoed to the back, directed towards Avalon as Raheal finally turned around, allowing the chiseled visual of his chest to grace her eyes. A hand motioning outwards in attempts to aid the woman in her raise, something caught his attention as he awaited for her to accept or decline. This woman had beautiful eyes.

Avalon's chest heaved as she pushed herself away from this man frantically. Her mind raced as she stumbled over words and thought. She had been right! What a ridiculous place for her to have been! A tremor took her body and shook it as she frightfully stammered, "I don't have much, but you can take it. I'll leave, I promise!"

The rumors of the natives of Sunberth came back to her as she considered that this man may have targeted her. She knew nothing about this place, and was further considering leaving, but here came an assailant, ready to rob her or worse. She hoped that he would take what she had to offer, but then she paused. With wide, curious eyes, she surveyed him.

His hand was outstretched towards her in a non-threatening manner. But wait, how did she know he meant no harm? Would a Sunberthan use false kindness to trick someone, or cut straight to the chase and rob her blind? She couldn't be certain, but until then, this man was waiting on her. Either way, she decided, there could only be two outcomes: one positive, the other with grim prospects.

Her eyes glimmered a deep wine color, having faded from the previous royal blue. Timidly, she reached out to take his hand and allow him to bring her to her feet.
