Kiam

Basic Information

Race: Kelvic (magpie)
Birthday: Summer 504 AV, day 86
Age: 7 years, but appears to be 26.
Gender: Female

Physical Description
Kiam's got thick, black hair with a green tone to it. Since she rarely cuts it, it reaches down to the lower part of her back. It's swept away from her face and kept in place by her ears. She usually keeps it in a bun, a ponytail or in braids. Her round eyes are a very dark brown. As a contrast to her hair and eyes, her skin is very pale.

Noone would call Kiam a beauty, but neither is she hideous to look at. She's of avarage height (5'4, 164cm), with a long torso and short legs. Although she isn't fat, she isn't slim either. Her hips are big and the upper part of her body is small.

As for the face, it's got an odd mix of strong and soft features. The eyes are round, and the nose is pointy and straight and strongly resembles a beak.

Character Concept
Kiam is strongwilled, and refuses to get run over. She's not impossible, but she needs a clear leader. When that leader is found, she'll be very loyal. For good and for bad, she's very secretive and doesn't trust easily. She's paranoid, and likes expression "better safe than sorry". From her paranoia steems a strategic mind and ideas of how to protect herself from any danger possible. Although she can be very indifferent about things, she enjoys seeing happiness and things that shine of life. She's an observer first and foremost, and isn't inclined to talk to people.

Kiam is very cheap and selfish at times, and she'd much rather work alone, because that means that there's no need to share the profit. All in all, she might be considered a loner, but she's very much in need of being around people. It doesn't matter if they talk to her or not, but seeing them makes her comfortable.

As for her morals, there isn't much to admire, because she does what she needs to. After all, a bird does not make any difference between "yours" and "mine". She's no Robin Hood, who steals from the rich and give to the poor. Her desires are hard to control, and frankly she sees no need to control them.
Although she hasn't been exposed to the situation yet, she believes that if an innocent person was accused for her crimes, she'd run as if Vayt was chasing her.

As a true magpie, Kiam has got an unexplainable love for shiny objects and valuable treasures, and she collects her favorite objects.
She shuns water and wouldn't stand being aboard a boat.

Character History

PRE-CREATION
Kiam was born in the outskirts of Syliras, where she got bought by an human merchant. The merchant wanted to use her as a guard to some of his more valuable goods, and it didn't take long until her bird instincts made her think of the valuebles as her children. She was taught simple combat, and proved to be rather talented at fighting with one or two sharp daggers. The merchant was rather old and without family, so when he died, Kiam was free do to whatever she wanted. She sold most of the things he left to her, but kept one double-bladed dagger for protection.

At first, Kiam stayed in Syliras, but upon reaching her third year of living, she left for Sunberth. In Sunberth, she met an exceptional thief, Faren, who took a liking to the young Kelvic and taught her his odd profession. Kiam's shapeshifting abilities came in handy, as well as her natural love for shiny objects. They managed by well in Sunberth, occassionally leaving the lawless city in order to gain bigger profits.

However, in Riverfall Faren got unlucky and stole from the wrong kind of person, resulting in a quick death in the Arena. Kiam had a smaller shock, but her animal instincts told her to run away and thus she returned to Sunberth.

Hello Kiam and Welcome to Mizahar,

I'm Tattoo, the Character Sheet Liaison, which means I'm the official 'helper' here in the CS forum. I noticed some things about your CS that need improvement. I know it can be a struggle wading through all the lore and getting your character in playable shape - starting with the CS. That's where I come in.

First thing I noticed was your skills. The skill Knifefighting should be changed to Weapon (Knife) or Weapon (Dagger). This makes it easier to read and more flexible of a skill. Also you mentioned in your CS of using two knives. Your character cannot do that until she learns Dual Wield skill. To learn this you must first attain 30 skill points in Weapon (Knife) then write out learning it.

Second, Pick-pocketing is actually included in a skill called Larceny You should change this over, it will broaden your abilities a bit :)

Third, the skill called Bargaining I would recommend changing to Negotiation. Just a minor thing to keep everyone on the same page.

Finally your skill points add up to 65. As a kelvic you get 10 points in hunting and 50 points to do as you please, for a total of 60. Please adjust this, I'm sure it's a simple mistake.

Thank you for writing your CS, you can PM me when you have made the changes or if you have any questions or concerns. I can't wait to begin reading your writings and Welcome to Mizahar :)
