He was faster than the average human, and wanting the game to extend, he had started off by racing at same pace the woman had fallen into. The smells of the forest filled his senses, and within the ferns and towering trees he could smell the twinge of fear lacing the path of the young woman. In the distance he could see the pulsing of her image, the heat radiating off her body as she began to perspire. The radiant glow disappeared and reappeared as she ran through the thicket of trees, but he stayed far enough to see how long it would take for her to begin to lose her energy. Cinder didn't hunt like a normal Dhani. Many snakes would wait for the prey to fall into their territory before they would strike. He hunted like a wolf might, tracking down its prey until they had worn themselves thin and could do nothing more than watch in vain as they were trapped by their own frailty. Unlike a wolf though he didn't strike at the very moment, but instead prolonged the agony until they were begging for death. The need to succumb eating at every part, every vein of their body before he would join in.

Cinder began to speed up, closing in on the girl. It was only when he saw another image of heat coming from farther ahead that he slowed down. Had he not had the vision in the night of a Dhani Cinder would have not noticed the Kelvic rounding in on the girl. His mind had slipped into that of a predator, focused on nothing else but the meal ahead. He came to a full stop only twenty yards away as he saw the collision of heat. A laugh uttered from his throat, quiet, but amused. So she had decided to join. He knew there was something about this girl that was much more than just a meal. It didn't take much to spark her curiosity. Inside every being was a killer, whether it be for food or fun, or both, each individual had potential to kill. There were some out there though that were closer to the snapping point, Nirvana. He wondered how far she would go. The little meat eater that had stuck to small prey already had a taste for flesh, but field mice would never be as satisfying as this.

Choosing to walk instead of run he snaked through the trees, silent walking closer to the two women. In his hand he grabbed the large daggers handle and let the chains fall before grabbing the end and wrapping the long chain around his arm. He wasn't quite ready to bare down on the woman and finish it... not quite yet. He hadn't begun to play yet.

Cinder could hear Vyxenne's voice, speaking coldly to the woman. A completely different personality than he had seen. Such a young intoxicating person. Stepping out from around the trees he came within several feet of the two women. The Vantha squirmed as her eyes widened, utter confusion turning back into fear. She screamed and tried to shove Vyxenne away. As calm and quiet as before. He walked around to their right side and crouched down placing his one hand over his knee as he lowered the blade and touched the girls cheek, instantly freezing her in place. Cocking his head to the side he looked at the frightened woman back glancing back to Vyxenne. "So happy you could finally join Vyxenne." Looking back to the girl he dragged the blade down softly, before putting enough pressure down, causing the sharp edge to slice slowly through her dark flesh. Pulling back he twisted the blade to the dull side and allowed several drops of blood to roll onto the cool metal. He brought it up to his mouth, tongue snaking out and catching the few drops before he closed his eyes, a satisfying smile growing... but not quite enough.

"Not quite... enough. It's interesting, the taste of a being always changes when they are soaked in fear. She's almost there, but I think we should give her another chance. I'm one man who truly believes in playing with their food." Pushing himself up he held out a hand for Vyxenne. A true invitation for her to join him. In his right hand he held the dagger back. He wanted the girl to go, but she wouldn't get too far. Before she died he wanted to see her marinade in her own blood.

Cinder came into view just as Vyxenne finished talking. She could see herself in the Vantha's eyes: A freakish looking girl in all black that could semingly blend into the forest, who obviously weighed a lot less than she should. Although compared to Cinder, Vyxenne looked like a friendly. Until she grabbed Cinder's hand and he helped her up. Then she looked scary. She pulled the hood of her cloak over her head, hiding her face in a dark shadow. She looked at Cinder, then at the Vantha, then at Cinder again. As if following some unknown order, Vyxenne ran into the forest.

Really, what she was doing was making a path. The vantha would take the easiest way, which would be the path. It wasn't much of a path, just a line of foliage pushed to the side and pressed to the ground. It wasn't that long either, just a few subtle turns back into the clearing where the hunting started. But that was enough.

She ran back to where Cinder was waiting, pushed back her hood, and gave a nod. Then she sprinted off into the forest again. Climbing easily up a tree that was right next to the path she made, Vyxenne went out on the furthest branch and crouched there, waiting for the Vantha to start running. When the Vantha did reach the tree, Vyxenne was ready and would jump from the branch and land on the Vantha's back, forcing her to the ground with the force from the jump.

He was pleased with her acceptance of his hands. In all his years he had never had a partner in his hunts. A solitary creature he never had let the thought cross his mind to join in on the game, but when opportunity arises, he was never against taking a hold of it. It gave him a new fresh perspective on the hunt, to prey on another with this small female partner. Such a vexing little fox. He turned away from her, stepping back and giving the Vantha girl room to get up. She looked confused, uncertain of whether she should move or not. Slowly she got up, regaining her strength enough as she eyed him cautiously. Cinder extended his hand, pointing in the direction of freedom as he took a step back, giving the girl temporary security and hope that perhaps they might be letting her go, despite what he had just stated. Peoples minds at in odd ways when it comes to terrifying situations. They see and hear only what they want to hear, clinging to the last bit of hope that they had a chance.

She however did not. The Vantha scampered up and began to run. Cinder pushed off the balls of his feet, moving in the calculated direction that Vyxenne had run towards. He looked up, seeing her heated image through the tree limbs above. He didn't hold back, speeding up quickly as his heavy boots crunched quietly across the broken brush. He was closing in quickly, and without pausing Cinder dropped the blade, the chains unraveling from his arm. Just before it hit the ground he snapped it up in the air, close enough to tear across the girls shoulder before he pulled back and caught the blade by the hilt, darting to the left around the tree as she screamed and stumbled, clutching her shoulder but continuing to move. Laughter spilled from his mouth, cold and menacing. It chilled the forest as his amusement gained intensity by the passing seconds. He glided across the dark path, snapping the chained blade out once more, this time up and down with a diagonal slant. it bore down against the girls chest, tearing into her supple breasts and twisting as he spun the chain around his wrists. The blade had caught within the fatty tissue of the curved woman, causing her to stumble forward in agony. He jerked back, gritting his teeth with an ugly grin as he ripped the blade from her breasts and caught it again. She fell to the ground, but got back up, stupid determination keeping her moving.

She was coming closer to where he had spotted Vyxenne. He wanted to keep playing her, but he wanted to let the fox give the girl the finishing blow. After all, it was her first time, and who was he to steal such a pleasure. He was cruel, but at least he was willing to share his cruelty. He stepped backwards slowly as the girl stumbled blindly forward, her hand out as she tried to feel her way through the darkness, one hand clutching at her torn chest. Cinder clutched the blade tightly within his fingers as she stumbled directly into him, a whimper escaping her lips as she realize who she was touching. He looked down, the smell of blood causing him to growl before he grabbed her by the throat and threw her against a large tree next to him. He pushed her up, her feet dangling off the ground as he turned the blade and sliced it down her side, ripping into her clothes and skin. "I really don't think you'll be needing these anymore." Cinder purred quietly, turning the blade down and tearing the clothes off her blood caked body before he tossed them behind them. She was chocking, legs starting to kick less as she strove for air. Realizing he'd held her too long Cinder let go, dropping the girl on her feet but catching her before she could fall to the ground, his nails digging into the deep gashes in her chest. The scream she uttered than was far louder than any before. The point of sheer agony was when humans seemed to truly find their voice, and hers was beautiful.

Cinder knew he was being greedy now, keeping the girl to himself, but he couldn't help it. It had been so long since he'd fed like this, and he wanted to extend the excitement. He knew it wouldn't be much longer though, the loss of blood was going to take the girl out soon. Before releasing her he bit down into her shoulder, staying away from the jugular vein. She wailed as he shredding the teeth, canines lengthening, teeth growing sharp as he ripped back, taking a large chunk of her shoulder with him. A hiss slipped from his tongue as he tilted his head back, nearly moaning with extacy, the taste of blood that rolled down his throat. He swallowed the flesh and fat without chewing. Cinders fingers curled in reaction to the satisfaction that was finally flowing through him now. The orgasmic sensation of the first bite was never enough, but he pulled back licking his lips.

Grabbing the girls hair he pulled her into the open area and swung her around so that she was looking at him. "Do you see that clearing in front of you?" He turned her head in the direction that he pointed with the dagger before turning her head back to him. "I consider myself a fair man. You've played along so well in my game that I will give you one more chance. If you can walk a full thirty yards without falling, I will let you go. If you can't, that will not be the last bite I have out of you. Understand?" She coughed, blood trickling from her lips as she stared up at him. Cinder pushed her head up and down in a forced nod before he he smiled and released her, stepping back as he looked up at the tree lining above. Just fifteen yards ahead of the girl hid Vyxenne. He doubted the girl would make the clearing now.

She looked at the huge gash on the shoulder of the Vantha. Just hours before, Vyxenne would have freaked out. But not now. Because of her inner fox, she could see pretty well in the dark. The Vantha was just 15 yards away. The former side of Vyxenne, the one that felt pity, wouldn't be hiding in the trees to ambush prey. But that side was gone right now. This new side was waiting achingly for the Vantha to stumble directly under the limb, but it was seemingly taking forever.

The Vantha was soaked in blood, looking like a very different person than the smiling face she saw earlier. Before the hunt began. Vyxenne, on the other hand, didn't have a drop of blood and she didn't intend to get any on herself. The Vantha was so close, and she had started hurrying in the hopes of escaping. Almost there... Vyxenne pulled the hood over her eyes, and made the freefall onto the Vantha's back. Even with her slight weight, a jump off a branch that was 15-20 yards up into the sky would have some force. She landed directly on her back and clung to her shoulders, the Vantha's fall in almost slow motion. "How nice it is to see you again..." whispered Vyxenne into the Vantha's ears. "Sweet dreams!" With that she used the Vantha's back to flip off and land with a flourish a few feet away, her hood still covering her face.

Even when Vyxenne ran through the forest earlier there was barely a sound. She somehow knew just where to step to make her passing sound more like a slight breeze than someone running by. This new side of her enjoyed that. She pushed off her hood and smelled the forest at night, the air thick with the scent of blood, death, fox and snake. The moon was out by now, and the little bit of moonlight that shined through the trees just enough to shine off her face, showing off the evil grimace and her long canines. She looked towards the sky and laughed again, the sound ringing through the forest.

She was stumbling, her breathing ragged from the blood loss. It was evident that even if he had decided in some odd turn of events that she would have died before she was able to make it back into the city. That would never happen. Cinder wrapped the chain of the blade slowly around his arm as he began to follow her lazily. He began to whistle softly, a sweet tune that filled the air, covering the heavy breathing of the dying Vantha. His head tilted backwards, red eyes locking in on Vyxenne as they drew closer. Only when she leaped from the branches above did he stop. Gracefully she landed upon the woman who collapsed with little effort to the ground. It seemed she didn't have enough strength to even scream out this time. Instead she let out a feeble cry, whimpering on the ground. Only when Vyxenne leaped off of her did the girl try without accomplishment to get back up. Her injured shoulder shook violently before she collapsed onto the ground and slowly rolled over onto her side, curling up into the feeble position.

Cinder's gaze moved away from the woman and back onto the you woman who had grown far more enticing than the childish girl she had been back only an hour ago. The moonlight flooded over her face, revealing the cruel features of a predator, and the laugh sent chills down his spine. Far from chills of fear, but of excitement. He walked up to the curled up woman and pushed her over with his boot. A thoughtful look crossed over his face as he stared down at her face. He could see liquid leaking from her eyes, smell the saltiness that drifted in with the blood. Raising his hand he bit down on his knuckle, staring intently at the girl, judging for a moment before he suddenly struck her hard in the side with his boot once, nearly tossing the girl's injured body away from where she lay. A weak cry uttered from her lips before she let out one single word, <i>"P-p-please."</i> It came it in the smallest whisper. This was the most she was able to muster with what little strength she had left in her. A day that had been just one more beautiful day in her paradise had turned out to be the most horrifying last moments of her life.

Cinder turned his sights on Vyxenne, dropping his hand away as he licked the corner of his mouth, tasting the woman's blood that had yet to be washed away and would soon be coating his mouth again. "Now I think she's ready. Are you?" She had gone along with him in the game thus far, but helping to torment and devouring were too completely different things. All beings were capable of murder, he was always aware of that. This however did not mean that everyone was able to take the next step, a transition into a world that would turn them from man to monster. Cinder had been more than willing to do this decades ago. He always knew what he was, but did this little fox girl know who she really was?

There was no real way to explain what had happened to turn Vyxenne into a bloodthirsty monster. No way to really describe what she was like in that phase either. But she wasn't disgusted by the thought of eating human flesh. In fact, that thought delighted her.

She shifted into a fox and ran over to the Vantha, and started licking her face. The Vantha tried to smile, she could tell. The Vantha probably thought that Vyxenne was a cute little wildlife animal that would protect her from getting devoured by a creepy snake boy and a freakish fox girl. Until Vyxenne took a bite out of her arm. Then the Vantha started freaking out with all of the strength she had. Which was surprisingly a lot for being basically dead. She picked up Vyxenne (being in her fox form she was very light and easy to carry) and threw her at a nearby tree. Now, the throw wasn't strong enough to be fatal, nor was it strong enough to give any long-term injuries, but Vyxenne was already pretty weak from malnutrition and overtaxing her strength. When she hit the tree she got a few bruises, not to mention a lot of cuts, but when she fell she received even more bruises. Not only that, but Vyxenne was extremely tired. She would have stood up if she could, but she couldn't.

If it really mattered, when Cinder was finished eating, he could carry her back to Ravok. Or he could leave her here. All that really mattered to her was sleep.

Cinder looked at Vyxenne, watching her every move. He wanted to see what she might do next, and she didn't disappoint. He watched as she walked up in her tiny fox formation and began to lick the blood off the woman's face that had been spit up from the internal bleeding. It looked so innocent for a moment, until she ripped into the woman's arm. It seems Vyxenne would have gone whole heartily into the finally step of a meal, the eating part. That is if the woman had suddenly found what little strength she had left and tossed the nearly weightless fox against a tree. His eyes followed quickly at the sudden change of action and he watched as the young fox woman crumpled to the ground. Debating on whether he should move to the fox or the woman, he finally chose the woman. Cinder could see the breathing of the small fox, and while she was a fascinating girl, she wouldn't get in the way of him and his meal.

Walking up to the woman he set his foot on her neck and bent down, staring at the ragged Vantha one more time in her state of living. He wiggled his fingers in a form of a good by and brought his boot up, bringing it back down and breaking her neck. The snap and pop of the spine being crushed vibrated off the tree's and finally the woman grew completely still. Cinder didn't waste time with her. He took the knife and began to slash at the flesh, ripping out chunks, avoid from splitting the gut or intestines. He knew what parts of the body tasted well and what didn't. If he was in Dhani form he could have devoured the woman slowly, but without cutting her up. However, he only used the form when necessary and hated the idea of being stuck in that filthy form for several days.

He ate like a snake would eat, never chewing on the flesh that he cut off with the sharp blade. Everything he ate was swallowed whole, the blood an added texture and taste that seeped down his throat. He dropped the blade after one point and picked up the girl by her hair, pulling her close to him as sharp teeth ripped and pulled the flesh out, tongue flickering out and lapping up the blood. He ate like he hadn't eaten in weeks. He ate as fast as the body would stay warm. His strength seemed to grow as he began to eat. Cinder lifted the body up, moving down as he tore into her already shredded chest, ripping into the fat. Blood dribbled down his lips, across his throat. It coated his shirt, pants, and began to drip onto his pants. As if he were in a trance Cinder forgot all about the fox girl, only remembering when he had finally received his fill of the Vantha. His stomach had grown content, and the corpse was lacking much of her flesh, areas around her shoulder and chest worn down to the bones. He ate a fill that was twice as much as a normal human could eat, but it would satisfy him for the next week or two.

Finally, he stood up, grabbing the corpse by its hair into the bushes. He wanted the body out of plain sight, but he had been careful about the way he had dined. Any marks that his knife had cut through he tore in with his teeth, making it look like wolves might have had their way with the woman. There was no need to cause any form of panic yet.

Releasing the woman he went back to the small fox and picked her up gently. His body smelled of Vantha and snake now, and before he could take the girl back to the inn he had to get the stains of blood out of his clothes. He needed to wash it out of his hair and skin, even from under his nails. Cinder was thurough when it came to hunting. He had no desire in getting caught. So he took her back to the lake and set her down in the location where he first started chasing the woman. He set the small fox down under the moonlight and walked over to the lake, stepping in, fully clothed. All the blood must disappear before he could once more reappear.

Vyxenne didn't make a noise when she was picked up, but Cinder managed to hurt her even more because of her various bruises. When she was set down in the clearing, she rolled around trying to get into the most comfortable spot while she was was waiting for Cinder. No use. She could either just sit there and wait for Cinder, or she could change into a human and inspect her various cuts and bruises. She decided to do the latter.

Changing into her human form, she realized she didn't have her clothes. They were probably still crumpled in a heap a little down the path she made. Pfft. She would get them later. She turned her attention towards inspecting herself, checking for bruises and cuts. She had a big gash along her stomach, and a few cuts on her legs. They started to sting from salty sweat, and the many bruises didn't help either. There were bruises along her legs and arms, and even a few right above her eyebrow. She tried her best to ignore the stinging sensation, and just focused on the delicious taste of blood in her mouth. Too bad she couldn't have eaten the rest of her. That would have been delightful. But instead she got unexpectadly thrown into a very painful tree. What a joy. She might as well change back into a fox now, to avoid Cinder seeing her naked again. That would be a disaster.

She shifted back into a fox, and started licking herself, to clean off some of the blood and sweat. The stinging died down to a mild pain, and Vyxenne decided she would just wait for Cinder to get back. She didn't have enough strength left to walk back to get her clothes, let alone back to Ravok. Well, she probably should go back and get her clothes. That would save trouble for later, right? Standing up, she looked for the path. It was relativly close, and she could see her clothes in a crumpled heap by the tree she was thrown at. Easy enough. She limped over to her clothes and shifting back into a human, picked them up and carried them to the clearing. She collapsed to the ground, and started panting. It took to much of her strength, just getting those clothes. She shifted back to a fox, and curled up in her pile of clothes, which offered comfort and familiarity for her to fall asleep in.
