An Evening Roam (Bob Barton)

Well...Cass found herself spending an evening in Sunberth alone. Darian, the only human she had ever actually trusted in her entire life, was gone on some job or busy with errands that did not concern her. And while it did hurt a little that Cass was left in a strange human city all alone, she wasn't angry. No, instead her thoughts were focused on how to entertain herself until Darian returned. She had spent all of the morning and half of the afternoon sleeping. She didn't really enjoy the sunlight. It hurt her eyes and caused annoying headaches which always toyed with her ability to focus. But she had left her room in Sunset Quarters to roam about the city later in the afternoon. Now was was standing across the street from a busy building where lots of male humans were coming together to gawk at female humans dressed up in slim rags and whatnot.

Cass watched as some of the men went nearly crazy trying to get the females' attention. She didn't quite understand what exactly what going on, but it was fun to watch the humans. It gave her something to do this evening. She silently hoped the show in front of her would continue on late into the night so she wouldn't have to roam around looking for something to do. It was one thing to happily explore the city. It was quite around to roam about, bored out of your mind. One male human bumped into her slightly, dumping half of his weird smelling brown drink onto her black cloak. Hissing she tugged her cloak tightly around her body and shoved the man aside. He eventually wandered off which left Cass with nothing to do but inspect the area where the foul smelling drink hit the fabric. Bending down she sniffed part of her cloak, scrunching her nose up in disgust. Now her cloak would have to be cleaned eariler then she had originally intended.

An Evening Roam (Bob Barton)

Postby Bob Barton on July 7th, 2011, 5:38 am

Bob was walking around the streets of Sunberth. Maybe if he was lucky enough no one would disturb him today? Even thinking that made him chuckle a little because he always believed he made his own luck. He proved it right because the woman with her big sword walking near him thought he was laughing at her, putting her hand on the hilt and gave Bob a threatening look. Bob got a little shocked at this and tried to distract her from it saying "Look lady, not laughing at you just...." and he spun his head around the street looking before continuing "laughing at those guys. I mean look at them right? Like flies drawn to honey that lot. All for a bunch of women like that?" as he pointed at the group of men and women. The woman just shrugged with affirmation and walked away leaving Bob alone, relieved that he had averted just another problem. Bob moved towards the crowd after that, his curiosity of what was going on leading him.

Straightening up Cass let the stained part of her cloak slip free from her hand. She let out a quiet sigh. She'd have to clean her cloak soon, but not right now. The stain wasn't too noticable and the smell wasn't too ungodly. Looking back out at the crowd Cass spent another long moment just watching the humans mingle and interact with each other. Some interactions were rather dull but others were quite interesting to watch. A smile tugged on the corner of her lips as she continued to watch. Maybe this was the way to spend the evening.

Her smile fell instantly, though, when a male human suddenly stepped up in front of her. She watched as his eyes roamed up and down her body. His hand slipped into a pocket and before he could pull whatever he had out, Cass quickly shoved him back as hard as she could. The man's eyes widened as he fell backwards, landing on his butt. Cass quickly stepped over him and headed towards the noisy crowd as the fallen man began to cry out random curses Cass had only heard once or twice before. She tried to move as quickly as she could through the crowd but everyone was packed close together. It was getting really hard to move. She gasped when her one booted foot caught onto something. She watched as the ground raced to meet her.

Witnessing the spectacle was interesting if anything, but interesting is all that it ever will be until it was interrupted by something going on behind him. It sounded like something dropped with a crash and someone was not really happy about it if you had heard all the words coming out. It was even able to make Bob wince in disgust and the people he keeps for company is pretty much vulgar as well. Bob turned around to have a look only to see a woman falling down and an even angrier man behind her. Sighing and muttering to himself "Heard stories about Sunberth but I didn't know it was this bad to even be happening where anyone could see it. Kind of makes me miss the knights." Bob laughed thinking that for once he'd like the knights of Syliras looming over his every move and at the same time gripped his cane firmly in case things turned out for the worse.

The ground...well it wasn't very nice nor was it much to look at. Above her Cass could hear someone angrily going on about something. She assumed it was her as she slowly lifted herself first onto her knees. Looking over at the angry male Cass narrowed her eyes and let out a low growl. That seemed to shut the fool up as he quickly left, wedging himself into a new section of the crowd. Satisfied Cass rose to her feet, brushing off the dirt that had gotten onot her cloak from the fall. It was then that she noticed another human but this one didn't look or seem angry. Actually, he seemed kind of...amused? Cass spotted the cane in his hand and her eyes widened in sudden interest.

Pointing her black gloved finger at the cane Cass spoke, "What is that you're holding?" Cass had seen humans wield all sorts of weapons but this one, this was all brand new to her.

The man left and Bob loosened his grip on his cane mumbling a little about how this is really Sunberth, even the women were scary if today was not proof enough. Then the woman's attention turned to Bob making him mumble a little promise to himself "No more trying to get involved with other people's business" thinking he's going to be the next target of the growling. A promise that you can trust Bob to never keep.

Then she pointed her hand at his cane making Bob wonder how can she be so interested in a cane when she nearly got the Sunberth experience today. Looking back at the cane in his hand he shrugged and answered "Canes are for walking ma'am. I take it you are alright then?"

Cass stared at the cane as the man explained what it was and what it was used for. Canes are for walking! Well that was interesting. Cass had never met a human that needed a cane to walk. The man's question caused Cass to blink and look up at him. "Oh. I'm, erm...I'm fine." Well actually, she wasn't. She was still angry that her cloak was stained and that some human had tripped her and that she ended up on the ground. But the angry human was gone and there was nothing she could about her stained cloak at he moment. "Are you, um...alright?" A shoulder brushed into her and Cass quickly turned her head to glare and growl at the fool before returning her attention to the man with the cane.

Bob witnessed the woman growling at yet another person. A person who asked the same question Bob asked no less. If Bob did not earn a growl he must be doing something right for the first time. Or is it because its Sunberth he is doing it all wrong? Bob shook off the thought from his head, no point in pondering what goes on in the minds of these Sunberth people. Bob leaned on his cane seeing that the woman still wanted something from him and so he waited. But his eyes never let off the other strange man which interrupted them. Something didn't seem right that he almost came out of the blue for no apparent reason then, or so he thought.

With her question met with silence Cass looked down at her feet, wondering if she had said something wrong or had said something confusing. She spotted the man leaning a bit more on his cane. Interesting. So such devices were used to help humans walk. She then noticed that the man's attention seemed...elsewhere. Cass glanced around, wondering what could have captured his attention when she spotted a very unhappy looking male standing a few feet away. Cass looked back at the man with the cane. "Do you know him?"

The question brought back Bob's attention and he shifted his eyes from the strange man to the woman. "No, I just came to Sunberth a few days ago. Not much time to be getting to know anyone right?" Bob smiled as he said that to put the woman's mind at ease. No sense in worrying her about his suspicions that the strange man who brushed into her might be a pickpocket or a party to the angry man earlier but he would remember their faces in case he ever ran into them again.

Then he recalled the woman asking him a question which he rudely ignored. "Yes I'm fine ma'am. But the streets at night is no place for a woman to be alone especially here in Sunberth. Maybe I should escort you home? I'm Bob just in case you don't like to walk around with strangers." Bob held out his hand as per the customs of introductions.
