DESCRIPTION: Mura, the capital of the opalescent, scaled Konti, has been built on two layers: Buildings are located on firm ground, but the water of the Silver Lake is omnipresent in the form of ponds and waterways that are as often used as paved streets. However, since the city is a big tourist attraction itself, many bridges have been built to enable visitors to wander the city. The most famous bridge, also known as Silver Velispar Bridge, is located north from Unity Circle. Its name is derived from the fact that the whole bridge is shaped like an enormous stone lizard with two clawed feet at the one side and two at the other one. The artist who carved this shape, however, added a strange trait: Both sides of the lizard are identical. Both possess a triangular head staring at the passersby with frightening emerald eyes and showing sharp ivory teeth. The balustrades at both sides are covered with thin gold lines. The whole bridge is seen as a masterpiece of artwork and craftsmanship, considering the fact that it is perfectly balanced and still high enough to let Mura’s elegant swan boats pass through under it. Many years ago, a shop has been opened on top of the bridge. The owner managed to build the shop in the middle, right between the two lizard heads while leaving narrow pathways at both sides still broad enough to allow people crossing the bridge. The shop itself is made of white stone with door and windows made of light blue wood and lined with gold like the bridge itself. The interior reveals itself as incredibly crammed. The Silver Velispar Emporium is a general store, and many different items can indeed be purchased. Spread over various wooden shelves covering the walls, the floor as well as hanging from the ceiling, a huge collection is up for sale. Additionally, every ten days or so new items are added. The owner and her daughters are known for collecting anything and everything from household items to exotic plants and pre-Valterrian artifacts which they often know little of. Thus the shop is filled with a variety of items that one might not find anywhere else at Mura, but also common ones that every household needs and even little souvenirs such as the beautiful silver stones that are made from the resin of the Vian Tree and famous for reflecting Leth’s pale light. As a result, the shop is frequented by many different individuals and even occasionally trading with the mainland. The owner knows half the population of Konti Isle and vice versa, or so it seems, and often the quirkiest people can be seen browsing the shelves. It is even rumored that the extensive use of incense sticks and heavy fragrances lead to a certain dizziness causing items to look more mysterious and beautiful to the eye of the customer, although nobody will ever publicly accuse the owner of manipulation. It simply is a common joke among those who frequent the Silver Velispar Emporium.
