Part 2 out of 2 in the Flashback series Avanthal 5th day of Spring (Noon), year 511 The day went mostly without a hitch, mostly more staring at the ceiling in a depressing manner as he rested himself. An earlier confrontation with a martial master otherwise left him enfeebled as he was recovering. "Dam, blind master. Don't even know what I did to have him kick me like that" he muttered angrily to himself as he forced himself up. He sat up as he felt a soft wave of pain inside his bones, everything felt sore and being like this made every sensation new. As his bare feet touched the ground he quickly retracted his leg as he shouted out at the alarming temperature the floor had, though he soon regretted the action. As he tried to move his leg back down to a proper position each slight adjustment feeling as if his ribs were shaking with each action. "Ahahaha...dam. I got beat pretty hard yesterday huh?" he asked nervously as he eventually moved his leg away from his center. This wasn't so bad He assured himself as he Date: 18th of Summer, Year 503 Sounds of the surrounding wildlife barraged Darren ears as he regained consciousness in the forest. Pulling himself off the ground only to draw back down to the floor. A pain. Embedded in his stomach. It flared violently as he coughed in pain, gritting his teeth soon after. What just happened? he thought as every fiber of his being tensed from the agony, What am I doing here? Soon after Darren's eyes searched the forest floor next to him. While otherwise concealed he would be in all types of trouble if anyone or anything found him, he would have to move. While he was unable to take his attention away from the searing pain in his abdomen Darren was able to pull himself closer to the bushes. His only free hand pulling him through the dirt as he neared his cover he laid flat on his back exhausted, breathing heavily in turn now he would be able to focus on his situation a bit easier. Not by much though, every part of him felt on fire with his middle bearing the brunt of the pain. He writhed motionless in the snow his back sending chills down his spine as he felt the slushy mixture of ice and water lodged itself between his skin and his clothing. Mixing the sensation of both pain and agitated skin caused him to start bring himself up. Sitting himself up slowly he eventually was able to handle the amount of strain as he forced himself to his feet. Taking an anxious breathe in he tried to get his bearings, he was pretty familiar with most places within the Icewalls just had to see something familiar. "I don't recognize this place at all" he shuddered unsure. Whether he shook from the cold snow on his back or from fear he didn't notice as he attempted his first steps forward. |
