Tournament and equipment (Arros)

The signing up for the tournament was already finished yesterday and there was no time to lose. Not only was signing up a good opportunity to learn about the tournament, it was also a good opportunity to measure potential opponents. A lot of the men and women Keido saw there looked rough, well-built and skilled. The weapons on their side was not for show either. What was Keido's kodachi going to do against something like a spear, sword or a bow? He was confident in his skills yes, but he cannot say anything about his opponents. Now what he needed was better equipment and protection.

Keido did not know what he needed or should find. So he decided to just browse through the Bizzare. There were many interesting looking things. Bigger, longer weapons or tools which help in a fight when used well. But Keido had no training in any, neither did he know how to use them. Then he spied on a forge, with an Isur working. They were a race renowned for their blacksmith abilities. Perhaps now Keido could get the help he needed.

"Good afternoon Isur. Perhaps you heard of the upcoming tournament? Well, I am joining it but I need some new equipment. Do you have anything suitable?"

Tournament and equipment (Arros)

Back in Alvadas again after so many days, no one that was present seemed to recognise him after the destruction that was caused in the Bizarre, it was just as well because he had just signed up for the up coming tournament, this tournament was the big talk on the streets, crowds upon crowds of cheering watchers and gamblers alike would be watching the gladiatorial warriors battle it out trying what ever possible to smash each others faces in.

Arros was at the forge that was at back of the Bizarre, out of sight from the bulk of wanderers by. Still he had improved his skills of blacksmithing since the last season and every thing he forge got at the least a little bit of attention, he even managed to sell a few things, which was a surprise since social skills wasn't his strong point.

Arros was pounding a bit of iron, every hammer blow that pounded the burning metal drew it out to make a thinner, large plate, Arros himself wasn't quite sure of what he was making, some armour or maybe an axe, what ever it was though he was confident it would sell.

The owner of this establishment was an old, kind fellow with a long black beard, that dangled back and forth across his belly. The owner usually only dealt with the master crafting of specialised items and was constantly in the back of the shop, out of sight, decorating said items with adorned shapes and symbols, he was also not one for the social part of the business and so it was left to Arros.

Putting the metal plate on the horn of the anvil that rested on top of a large wooden block, Arros began to tap it into shape, it became obvious that he was forging some metal bracers that would protect someone's forearms. The metal gleamed with a light red colour that displayed its obvious heat. Prodding the fire that countless metals had grown soft in, Arros dunked the bracer shaped metal into the fires, it had grown hard so it need to become malleable again.

Wiping off the sweat from his stern Isurian brow, Arros noticed a human walking up to him, obviously looking for some wares. Arros's immense muscles bulged and pulsated from the recent work that he had done, his chest and stomach that was muscle bound felt the cold sweat that rolling over his skin, coursing its way down to the ground.

"Good afternoon Isur. Perhaps you heard of the upcoming tournament? Well, I am joining it but I need some new equipment. Do you have anything suitable?"" the human said.

Arros looked at the human with a cold expression, the politeness of the human meant nothing to him.

Replying in an emotionless cold voice that rang in tune with his deep voice Arros said "And your looking for..?" his voice was thick but no emotions could be picked up from it.

"I already see that you have a weapon on you, it looks sharp enough for this tournament, you also dont look like the kind of human that can last long in heavy armour.. so what is it you want?" the way Arros spoke was enough to put off most into buying any equipment here, only those who didn't understand the lack of emotion or those who simply didn't care bought his wares.

Resting his hammer on the anvil that had been pounded innumerable times, Arros began to search for a reply out of the human.

Sharp weapon? He must mean the kodachi. It may be a good weapon to use but in this tournament everything is non-lethal which was no good for it. If Keido went a little bit too far then it would mean that whoever his opponent was was at risk for death at the worst case. No, he had to use his other weapons.

"Yes this thing is really good but I am more experienced with using my own fists." Keido said balling his hand into a fist to show the isur.

"Unfortunately I learned recently this was not enough against the more gifted people" like Miro who knew how to use the flux for starters.

"So I was thinking of getting something which will help. Like a gauntlet" then not only he can use his fists for offence, he can also go for defense.

The cold attitude might drive off most people but not Keido because if anything the isur's attitude gave him confidence that the isur was serious with his job. In turn that means that what advice and equipment he could provide would be good for Keido like the armour. At one glance he could already tell that Keido was not suited for the heavy ones. Exactly the reason why he was seeking someone like the isur.

"That is a very good observation. As it so happens I am looking for some armor myself. Possibly light and durable so that I can move and fight without having to worry too much about getting hit in the process. Do you have anything like that?" Keido asked with a smile.

Mostly that was what Keido needed. Protection. Hopefully this isur would be able to help him with just that.

"So I was thinking of getting something which will help. Like a gauntlet" Arros intently listened as the human explained his situation.

Arros now recognised what this human wanted, a gauntlet of sorts that would do the jobs of defence and attack. Not commonly seen throughout Alvadas was such an item, not many people were brave enough to use gauntlets to fight against those who potentially would be wielding a spear or a large axe, even if bravery wasn't the question, the techniques needed to fight efficiently with them was difficult and strenuous but if mastered, a lethal force to be reckoned with.
Arros knew what needed to be done.

Walking over to the human, Arros grabbed his hand and examined it, ignoring the struggle to come from a bold act. Holding it firm, Arros put pressure on the knuckles to see how much force they could take, Arros then put his fingers in between the humans fingers to measure the distance. This would be ultimately tricky work, some material would be substituted for for light more flexible but if the work was done correct, it would be a big advantage to someone who was used to fighting with their hands.

The man spoke again.
"As it so happens I am looking for some armor myself. Possibly light and durable so that I can move and fight without having to worry too much about getting hit in the process. Do you have anything like that?"

"The armour you need human, is chain-mail, strapped with metal plates and bound by leather. In your case, a helmet and boots to match would burden you and provide no advantage." Arros's voice was still cold and unfriendly but not a hint of anger had been present within him that day, doing his work, was to him calming and peaceful, even with the occasional disruption from buyers.

"I can make the items you seek human, but it will cost you." Arros's voice shifted in tempo to an even more taciturn attitude.

"And it's not money it will cost you."

OOCIm trying to turn this into something more interesting than just speaking and your pc waiting for Arros to craft the items, I hope this is ok :)

Keido did struggle a little bit at the isur's sudden actions as he tried to pull it back a little until he saw that the isur was observing his hand. Already the isur got to his work. Keido stopped struggling. He even stopped controlling his hand as it went on a limp. Keido tried to ignore the discomfort he was getting while the pressure was being put on his hand. If the isur needed to run some tests, then he would not try to interfere with it. Then the isur stopped, to explain more about what Keido needed and telling him the costs of it.

"It will not cost me money? Tell me what you need isur, and if its nothing illegal I will see what I can do" Keido did not expect to get something made by an isur that easily. This should prove interesting.

OOCYes it is :)
