When talking about Kelvics having ears and tails, this came to my mind

About your second annoying point: While reading the article for Wind Reach, I got an idea for a drudge thief. Sounds like someone very common within the city, but it's really cool to have the writeups provide for interesting character concepts without the need of being the exception to the rule!
And that's also why I don't understand people who play humans. Not Drykas, not Vantha, but plain
humans. Really, what's the fun? (So that'd be pet peeve #3 for me.)
I do see the enjoyment that can be derived from being the rule, especially if the rules are interesting. However, that being said, "plain humans" are not by any stretch boring. It isn't that they are uninteresting, its that the design approach to a "plain human" is different than that utilized by your "interesting humans". A "plain human" is a blank slate, one that allows for more player options. Here, the exceptions are the rule.
This seems to be the problem with the people that break the cultural molds given to them by the sub races. People get greedy, and want the cool culture as well as absolute freedom. Yet, it should be noted that while you still have freedom within the culture, you really can't have both of the aforementioned. That is what I think at least. People need to stop having split attentions and stick to one development method. You cannot ask for a set of rules so you can break them!
But, as somebody who plays a "plain human", and finds his character quite interesting, I personally rebuke your statement. Though I doubt it will change your mind. "Plain humans" just need a bit more work put into them because so little is done
for you.
