Living with an endal has many benefits, Kovac had learned over the past year. Aside from the obvious pleasures of sharing a bed with the sultry Shayth, her gifts and perks left little for him to spend his cash on. But this day, the first of Fall, seemed particularly agreeable weather-wise, and the market was in place. Kovac had several bells free, somehow, and decide to finally part with some pinions. Life had been stressful, mostly of his own doing as usual, and the distraction of self-centric activity surely would ease his woes.
His first destination was the Bull's Eye. He had contemplated a new bow for seasons, but for some reason had a sudden aversion to replacing the shortbow he had used since he was a yasi, a weapon his father had made. His father was gone, though he was never much of a father when he was alive. But it was a new season, and time to put something old behind him. Vincent was one of the rare inartan's Kovac truly enjoyed. If anyone had been a mentor to Kovacafter the death of the old archer who apprenticed him, it was Vincent. The man never pressed him, but when Kovac had professional questions, Vincent was always there. The master archer had been trying for seasons to get the half-bred hunter to try a composite bow. Now, Kovac was in the market to buy.
"I have been holding this back for you, mongrel." Vincent teased the younger archer. "I knew you would come around eventually." Ducking behind a cloth hanging at the back of the booth, the shop proprietor reappeared with a composite short bow with a deep recurve. "Yew and horn in this one." He handed it to Kovac to examine. The avora held the weapon almost reverently, caressing the bone layer on the belly of the bow, then the strong but flexible sinew on the backside. "Sky goat sinew, holds a lot of energy." Vincent added proudly. Kovac raised the bow and drew it back, feeling its strong resistance in the knotting muscles of his arms, shoulders and upper back.
"Its beautiful Vin." Kovac replied in a rare compliment. "Shyke yes, I will take it!" The avora, with a bag full of pinions, purchased a resupply of arrows of well, grabbing a score of game, fishing and broadhead arrows each. Counting out the stone currency, Kovac bid Vincent farewell and moved to his next stop.

Having asked Vincent to hold his purchases until he was ready to return to the aerie, Kovac made his way to Lexi's Leathers. The roguish mongrel often stopped at Lexi's shop, more to flirt with the attractive older woman than to purchase any leather goods. But today, he was determined to take a gift back to Shayth. Things had been rocky recently, with the endal giving a lot and the avora taking a lot. A turn of the tables would go far in helping to mend things.
Strolling through the stall, Kovac feigned ingnorance as he caught the leather-clad shop-owner slipping up behind him. He felt the press of her breasts against his back and her breath on her neck. "You know, avora, if you keep coming in here without making a purchase, I may be forced to ban you from entering. And that would be a shame." She teased, her fingers lighting upon his hip. Kovac turned, a wry grin on his face. He kissed the woman on the cheek and laughed. "You would not ban me. I see you more fitting me with a collar and chaining me to your counter so you can pet me all day." They both laughed loudly, and Lexi gave the hunter a sound smack on the ass. "I would, if that damn rider of yours didn't already have one around your the base of your manhood! By the way...I would custom fit one for you if you'd like." The randy cougar replied.
"Maybe for our anniversary, dear." Kovac snarked as he began to peruse the displayed leather goods. "I am actually looking for a gift for Shayth."
"Ah, well then, let me suggest these." Lexi snagged a pair of sontav from a nearby table. They were black and red with laces on the inner side. "The embossing is similar to the embroidery on Shayth's vinati, and the red will match the glass beads on it." She winked at Kovac. "Or, they would look fantastic with nothing at all."
Kovac snatched the sontav from Lexi and gave her a toothy grin. He examined them, already knowing the quality would be excellent. His attention returned to the waiting woman. "I'll take them...name your price."
"One night of you licking my boots." Lexi quipped with a smile, "Or, ten pinions."
Kovac winked and pulled out the pinions, dropping them into the ample cleavage Lexi's leather vinati presented. "One day...One day." He teased. As he walked out, he heard the woman laugh and call after him. "Petching mongrel! Indeed, I will have you in my leather one day!"
