Physical Description
Lu stands at five feet, eight inches, his body fluctuating in weight due to his age and continued growth. He possesses a lean and well defined musculature due to his daily training. For most intents and purposes, he blends in with the others. His skill and dedication to Lhavit and its citizens are what would separate him.
While not strikingly handsome, his inner and outer health radiate through him, generating a pleasant image.
Character Concept
A devoted Protector of the Shinya, Lu was taken as a Viraya at the age of nine. He accepts a vow of poverty and celibacy to strengthen his resolve. His family is of Shinya stock and without the words of his superiors or the Lady of the Stars, he will never leave Lhavit. With an order from superiors or the Lady, he would leave at any moment.
Character History
Born to Shantsu and Buta Gavima, Lu lived a simple life of obedience in his formative years. Whereas the serenity and beauty of Lhavit might seem alien to foreigners, it is a simple expression of devotion to Zintila and Her grace and understanding of Her children. Obedience, discipline and respect are as natural as breath to the families of the Shinya. Given to asceticism beyond that of the majority of the people, Lu's parents petitioned for his entrance as a Viraya on his ninth birthday. It did not take long for the monastery to see a monk born and accept him.
While living in the same city, Lu's family did not see much of him except in passing and in formal matters where all of the Shinya are present. Many times he would deliver tea to a relative, yet remain detached, seeing the person as the superior requesting tea, rather than Cousin Puma or Uncle Liyama. Lu could only accept his existence in terms of a vessel for Zintila and a resource for Lhavit, his home. His father was his overseer and accepted the role that Lu wished to play as an open ended sky, an expression of Zintila. He saw to it that if Lu wished to be a vessel, it would be his duty to refine and empty this vessel daily.
It was this regimen and Lu's unerring sense of purpose which brought his father to call to the Shinya Elite and have his son promoted to Acolyte. Lu simply bowed, though a small smile of contentment graced his features once he had left the hallowed chambers. Working as an Acolyte, Lu is beginning to come into his own, his skills sharpening daily. He lives only in service to his Lady, the Shinya, Lhavit and his family. In that order.
