Winter 2 511

Almech entered the wolf's cavern, Kale by his side "You need to lighten up Almech" he said as Almech got an annoyed look on his face, there were alot of people here, in this cave. It reminded him of being in the Zith cave, except this time, everyone who wasn't Zith were allowed to actually wear some type of clothing, he never understood why the Zith wouldn't let their slaves wear clothes. The different smells floating through the air though intrigued him, he found himself walking himself to the counter where a woman greeted him and Kale "Oh hello! I haven't seen you two before, my name is Micah, what will you be having gentlemen?" she said with a smile. Almech shrugged his coulders and looked over at Kale "Yes Kale, what are we having?" he asked. Almech looked at her carefully, she was really cheery, he cocked his eyebrow, and a man put a hand on his shoulder "Can I help you?" a young man asked him. Almech quickly jerked his shoulder away "Yes you can, by not touching me" then Micah spoke up "Oh settle you two, Korin, i'm going to need help preparing some food". Almech's ear twitched, Food, he spoke up "Can I have some meat?" "Cooked?" "No", Kale slammed his palms on the table "Same for me but can you cook it? also, i'm going to need a few ales". The brother and sister knodded their heads, Korin went to prepare the food and drinks, Micah walked around and was taking more orders.

Kale stepped into the tavern and blinked his eyes a few times. The brightly light common room of the place was a stark contrast to the darkened streets from whence he came. He and Almech had only just gotten back to the town after having dealt with that caravan of slavers. The smell that hung about the place reminded him of them. Perhaps the smell was not as over powering as the smell of the slavers but it filled the air thickly nonetheless. The scent of liquor and unwashed sweating unwashed bodies was almost overpowering his senses. Kale resisted the urge to step back out the door.

The warrior glanced over to his kelvic companion. He seemed to be having the same lack of enthusiasm at entering the place as he was. For a moment he considered backing out of the tavern but decided against it. They both needed to relax and blow off some steam. "Ye need to lighten up Almech," the gladiator said to the large kelvic. He led the way further into the tavern, the two men moving for the bar. He kept his eye on his large companion as they passed through the crowd. The kelvic was not good in crowds. Almech took after Kale when it came to large numbers of people. It was not a nice point of view that they shared.

He let his sapphire colored eyes roam around the room as they approached the bar. Unfortunately he did not find anything noteworthy in the throng of people loitering about the common room. His eyes caught the figure of the woman long before she reached the two companions. "Oh hello! I haven't seen you two before, my name is Micah, what will you be having gentlemen?" she asked them. Even Kale, who valued fighting above all else, could not deny that he found the woman attractive. The way she moved as she walked, the way she held herself, and even the way she spoke all seemed to radiate beauty. It was a down to earth type of beauty.

It was not surprise that when Kale managed to peel his eyes from the woman he noticed Almech staring as well. He poked the larger man with his elbow before the kelvic could begin to drool. "Yes Kale, what are we having?" he asked Kale. Yet before Kale could respond to his friend a hand found its way onto the larger one's shoulder. Kale could not hold back a small wince at the action. Almech was not someone that enjoyed physical contact unless it involved bashing in someone's skull or slowly ripping the wings off a zith. Somehow Kale knew Almech would whole heartedly enjoy contact if it meant causing some Zith harm.

"Can I help you?" he heard the new comer ask. Much to his surprise Almech did not smite the man on the spot. He simply jerked his arm away and dismissed the man. It looked as though the man would say more but the woman from before intervened and sent the man on his way to complete a task for her. She took Almech's order with a raised eyebrow. Before she could comment Kale decided to break the ice. He slammed his hand down on the table and stated, "Make it two of those. But ye might wanna cook mine. Ale would be nice too." His words were more meant to break the ice than anything else. He noticed Almech staring at her as she left. "You act like ye have never been with a woman before."

Be realistic when playing with Kale. Chained Ones are rare. He has no undead traits that someone can tell. There for you do not know he is undead. Until he exhibits extreme qualities outside of what a human would you can not even tell he is not human. Once he does you will NOT know what he is, only then he is not human. There for you DO NOT suddenly know how to kill him.If you some how know that he is an undead creature without a plausible reason then I will seek moderator intervention on the matter.

Blaze wandered down the cobbled streets of the city and glanced around. Her brown eyes wandered around aimlessly and anyone could tell she was lost. She had spent the past night sleeping on the streets and had discovered how jumpy she could get. She was exhausted but was filled with a restless energy that kept her eyes open. A door appeared to her right and she gave out a sigh of relief as she approached it. Hope this doesn't lead to another house, that had been an embarrasing happening.

Blaze walked up to the wooden door that stood out against the brick wall that surrounded it. She gently pushed it open and was greeted be a burst of noise. She glanced around what appeared to be a tavern and walked in. She pulled her cloak tighter around herself as if to form a shield form a shield from the other occupants of the building. She wondered what kind of people they were and if she should turn around right then and there and go back to the streets.

Her eyes trailed across the room until they encountered something that she couldn't quite place. She stood there for a few more momemts studying it, then it came to her. Blaze smiled as she crossed over to a group and said simply, 'Almech?' She immediately remembered when she had last seen him. She looked at the area around him and frowned when she saw several an unfamiliar faces. 'And who might you be?' She question the one closest to Almech. 'I'm Blaze.' She added cheerfully, happy to have found someone she knew.

Blaze played with a strand of her brown hair, teasing it between her fingers as she stood looking at the people around her. Once she realized there a was quite a few crowd for her she suddenly felt nervous. She was slightly scruffier than usual, with a couple of leaves and twigs in her hair. Her robe had a few extra holes in it to. She tensed up slightly and glanced around her

It would seem Kale had noticed Almech looking at their bartender, he didn't know why he stared at her the way he did "Ye act like ye never been with a woman before" Almech looked at him with a cocked eyebrow. Micash came with their food an beverages, Almech quickly picked up his slab of raw beef and took a large bite, tearing a large chunk away from the bone, blood dribbled down and onto his plate, he watched Kale start eating his, cutting it with a knife then stabbing it was some kind of three pronged instrument. He didn't know what Kale was eating, but he didn't really care either, Almech finished his food, then grabbed his mug "So this is ale" he tipped it back and took several large gulps, he immediately wasn't pleased with the taste. The last bit in his mouth got spewed out "What? how can people drink this stuff?" he asked with a disgusted look on his face, he put his mug down as he tried to ignore the awful taste in his mouth. He looked at Kale and spoke "What did you mean by that? i was with a woman a few days ago, she was nice, but she didn't talk much though, there was a black furry thing talking to her and another Kelivc showed up, it was, interesting" he said. He took another drink of his ale and winced as he gulped it down, it tasted terrible, but he didn't want to waste money. Kale spent the next few minutes talking and Almech didn't have time to respond before he heard a familiar voice "Almech?' he turned to see Blaze standing there, he smiled at her "Have a seat Blaze" he turned to Kale "This is the woman i told you about".

Kale's eyes locked on the woman as she brought back their drinks. It was not the things that she carried that drew his attention. It was the body that she moved back and forth deftly to avoid the other patrons in the tavern. Yet again he was reminded just how out of place she was here. Yet as his eyes attempted to undress her with their gaze it was not his manhood that reacted to her. A loud grumble erupted from his stomach. Despite himself he could not resist imagining how pleasurable it would be to devour such a woman.

The monster of a gladiator tore his eyes away from the approaching woman. He clenched his fists and resisted the nearly over powering urge to lunge over the table and rend her limbs from her body. He did not care that she would die if he did such a thing. She was pretty but she was human. Kale had come to consider humans as somewhat like cattle. Humans did not view it as wrong to hunt down a lesser creature then themselves and use the animal for food. The same applied for Kale. He did not believe it was wrong for him to hunt down and eat humans. He was simply higher up the proverbial food chain then they were.

He felt the coolness of the mug as he pressed it to his lips and let the alcoholic liquid flow into his mouth. Kale felt the warm liquid burn a trail down his throat and into his stomach. The drink did not affect him now as it had before his transformation. He no longer could drink himself into a drunken stupor. In fact, outside of the initial burning feeling that the ale caused, it would have little effect on him. To make matters worse, the liquid part of the concoction did nothing to quench his thirst either. He let his eyes drift to the steak. His hungry stomach turned at the thought of consuming the cooked meat.

"What the shyke am I?" he muttered to himself. He still had no answer for the question. He was something he had never heard of before. He knew one thing. He was a monster. That did not stop him from wondering exactly what kind of monster he actually was. He had not had any direct contact with the voice since that day. He had a sickening feeling that the owner of that voice was still watching him though. In the years since his change, there had been many sudden and undeniable urges to take, actions that had nothing to do with his unrelenting hunger. They were actions that he recognized as not being part of his own urges. He suspected that the voice had a hand in those situations.

He resigned himself to discovering exactly what he was. It would not change how he viewed himself but it was something that he felt he had to know. Kale let his eyes drift over to his kelvic companion. Almech had seen a few of the times when he had succumbed to his hunger. He mused that Almech must have felt a kinship in Kale's uncommonly animalistic characteristics. The two of them got along exceedingly well for two creatures so unsuited for companionship. He could not help but think that they grew more alike with each passing day. "You know", he paused for a moment in an attempt to find a word that his friend would understand. "When a man and a woman mate with each other."

Almech looked at Kale a slight smile spreading across his lips, he knew that look, Kale was hungry, it could have been easily mistaken for lust had Almech not known him as well as he did. He heard his companion's stomach growl even over the roar of the drunkards all having their fun, Almech had finished his ale, it didn't taste so bad now, his pallat had gotten used to the liquid. He waved at micah, ushering her to them "You know, when a man and woman mate with eachother" Micah looked at them with a cocked eyerbrow "I think I walked into this conversation at the wrong time". Almech looked at her with an I don't know what you're talking about kind of look, "I'm sorry Kale, I still don't know what you're talking about" and there was an odd sound that came from Micah's mouth as if she was shocked. Almech ordered two more ales, by this time Micah was red in the face and was holding back from giggling, but Almech's keen ears could tell "My parents died when i was 2 seasons old Kale"

Her giggling stopped and she quickly got their drinks "This one's on the house boys" she said with a pleasent smile, tossing a wink Almech's way, this insulted the Kelvic. His his left nostril flared on and off and the left side of his upper lip curled in and out in quick succession, he felt like she was mocking him, Kale knew the warning signs of Almech about to fly off the handle. However this was merely a warning, his eyes hadn't dialated, he wasn't scouling and the corners of his eyes weren't twitching yet, instead of making a fuss, Almech grabbed his mug and drank the entire thing in one go. He let out a gasp, he wasn't expecting this, a gas bubble got caught in his chest, he pounded it out with his fist and a very loud belch followed, Micah let out one of those sighing laughs she knew human culture was still new to him.

Almech took a deep breath "Another" he said simply, this strange tasting liquid, was somehow making him care less about things that normally made the young dog irate, it made him more chill so to speak, he liked this feeling. He looked around "I do know of companionship between a male and female, of course, i have a mother and father, they shared a deep love that i'll only understand once i've experienced it myself, or atleast, that's how they explained it when i was young". He wasn't stupid, he'd realized by now the effect women had on him, it was like a hunger, it was the best way Almech could think of it, but what he hungered for, he knew not. He eyeballed Micah, she was cute and all, but it seemed she was evesdropping "Shouldn't you be working?" she looked at him flustered and went to take care of customers.

Postby Kale on January 15th, 2012, 10:45 am

He sat in silence as Almech finished the last part of his drink. "I think I walked into this conversation at the wrong time". He almost winced at the words. Almech was not what you would call an open person. As such he fully expected for Almech to get angry at the woman's interruption. Oddly enough, his feral friend did not retaliate at the woman's evident intrusion into their conversation. "I'm sorry Kale, I still don't know what you're talking about", his companion told him. Kale looked up at the woman and shook his head slightly in an attempt to warn her against saying anything that might offend his large friend.

The woman hurried off to fill the new orders Almech had made before she could cause any harm. Kale could have sworn that he say a humorous look on her face as she shuffled off but he could not have been sure about it. Her next actions did seem to offend him though. Kale shifted uncomfortably in his seat. If Almech did something to harm their hostess it would cause the entire tavern to go into an uproar. Such an action would not simply be a brawl. Micah was someone that all of the patrons loved. Harming her would turn the entire place against them. Even Kale was not arrogant enough to believe they would make it out of such a scrap like that unscathed.

To his relief, Almech did not seem to want to actually harm the woman. The gladiator relaxed a little as his companion continued his dialogue. "I do know of companionship between a male and female, of course, i have a mother and father, they shared a deep love that I'll only understand once I've experienced it myself, or at least, that's how they explained it when I was young", his friend told him. He sat back for a moment. How would he explain this? "Well when a man and a woman...", his words trailed off. "Well a child is born when...." He just could not bring himself to explain it.

After a few moments of thinking he came up with a solution. "How about you find out for yourself? Next time you meet an attractive young female say these words to her 'I want to petch you' and that should clear up the entire situation", he somehow managed to keep the mirth from his face as he spoke. His eyes did not leave Almech as he spoke to him. From the blank expression displayed on the kelvic's face, he had no idea what the word petch meant. He was very much going to enjoy watching the result of Almech following his instructions.

By now Kale had forgotten all about their serving maid. Almech on the other hand had not forgotten. "Shouldn't you be working?" the large kelvic demanded of the gawking woman. She quickly hurried off on some unknown errand at his words. "Your friend should mind his own business", the words came out slurred and broken. The gladiator turned his head to view the man that had spoken. The man was, without a doubt, drunk. Kale dismissed the man as harmless and turned back around. Barely a moment had passed before a hand appeared on his shoulder. "You hear what I'm telling you!?" the man demanded.

Almech was feeling loose, he had two ales in him and he was feeling the alcohol, especially since he had drank them so quickly, he liked the feeling this beverage gave him, he was ready for another, already. His head was tingling, and when he saw a drunkard put his hand on Kale, it didn't seem malicious, but Almech didn't much care for the man's tone or the look in his eyes, his eyes pierced the man. He noticed Almech looking at him, and began to open his mouth, up until he saw the darkness in them, the eyes of a predator who is staring down a being who'd unwittingly stumbled into his claimed territory. To Almech Kale was his territory, and anyone wishing to do anything negative toward his territory would know what it felt like to have a collapsed windpipe and that's if Almech felt merciful.

This man knew without a shadow of a doubt that Almech had no moral qualms with killing him right there, for all to see it wouldn't be the first time Almech had killed for an audience, it wouldn't be the 2nd time, or the 50th time and especially not the last time. The man let go and slowly stumbled back, he began walking toward the door mumbling something about "i'll show you" Almech had heard that before and 90% of the time, they never showed him a thing. A large grin grew across his face and he laughed wholeheartedly, it was a laugh that came from one's belly, one of true joy, one that could not be faked, it was the first time Almech had ever laughed in such a way. The alcohol was obviously getting to him, Micah returned with his drink he took it from her drank half of it in one go and said "I want to petch you".

The hand belonged to the man that had spoken of Almech but a few moments before. Now that he was so close, Kale could smell the overwhelming fragrance of alcohol covering the man. He could not be sure but he thought he could also smell the slightest hint of vomit hanging about his person as well. It was Almech, and not Kale, that reacted to the man's hand first. He had only seen that crazed look on his kelvic friend's face a few times. He had come to recognize it as the look that Almech displayed when he felt that something he viewed as his was being threatened.

Kale thought the man would respond and only cause the situation to escalate. In fact, most of the patron's around them had ceased their merriment and were now gazing intently at the three of them. The man must have had a moment of coherent thought. The drunken interloper refrained from responding to the kelvic. The man's hand disappeared as he moved away from the two of them. Kale watched the man go. Those that had been staring at them resumed they enjoyment of their night but they did not seem as care free as they had moments before. Kale kept seeing eyes move in their direction every once in a while. The air took on a strained quality.

The gladiator turned his attention back to Almech in time to see Micah approaching the two of them. "I want to petch you" the kelvic told her. A moment passed in which all parties were shocked at the words that had been uttered. Everyone knew that Micah was off limits. Kale, a man who smiled so sparingly, burst into a fit of laughing. He had not actually expected his friend to say such a thing to a woman. Surely he had been with Kale long enough to know when he was joking. Then again Kale was not the type that ever did things such as joke with another.

Kale was still in the midst of laughing when everything tilted to the side and his body went spilling into the floor. Pain shot through his body as he attempted to regain his feet. The splintered shards of what was once a wooden chair littered the floor about Kale's feet. He had just regained his feet when he felt hands grasp at him and fling him into the bar head first. The gladiator's training came into play as he was flung forward. His arms came up to shield his head as he impacted the sturdy wood of the tavern's bar.

The disoriented warrior stumbled to his feet. Kale blinked his eyes a couple of times to clear the dust, which had been kicked up from the dirty floor, from his vision. The sound of wood cracking and breaking brought his attention back to the matters at hand. His gaze swept through the patrons. The violence that had erupted from his companion's actions had swept through the tavern's drunken patrons like wildfire. He snarled at the crowd. A large number of untrained drunkards going for each other's throats did not appeal to him. He had begun to move for the door when he saw a fist arcing in at him from his right side. Acting purely on instinct, the gladiator ducked under the incoming fist and jabbed his elbow in the direction it had originated from.

Almech looked around and a slight frown formed on his lips had he been in dog form his ears would have been folded back did i do bad? he thought to himself and he knew he definitely did something wrong when Kale started laughing. Suddenly an arm was wrapped around his neck pulling him out of his chair followed by repeated punches in his kidneys, he'd never been struck here, it was a sharp pain and it caught him off guard for a moment. Finally he got his senses back and reached up behind him, grabbed the collar of the man behind him and threw him over onto the table, a sucker punch hit him in the jaw and that's when Almech got irate. He spun around and planted the heel of his palm into the man's nose.

A mug was smashed over his head, he fumbled forward and turned around, a man tackled him to the ground and attempted a ground pounding as he straddled Almech, a fist came and Almech tilted his head to the side. He grabbed the man's wrist with one hand and struck him in the collar bone with the other, shoving him away, Almech got up and promptly kicked him in his face, two more men came and tackled him, pinning him against the wall. Another threw punches into his stomach Almech saw a chair fly threw the air striking one of his captors hard enough to loosen his grip, Almech finagled his way out of their hands, heel kicking the man in front of him in the solar plexis. The two holding him recieved deep gashes in their faces from his claws [i]What is going on here?[/] he wondered.
