![]() pronounced 'nice' Name: Neis Birthdate & Age: 7th Fall, 493 AV [18] Gender: Female Height: 4'9" Weight: 97lbs ![]() ![]() Neis isn't self conscious about her looks because she honestly doesn't care. She knows that she won't make it out of the caste she got placed in, and she knows that it's hopeless to think she will, so she realizes that it doesn't matter how she looks. ![]() Neis, just your average dek. She does what she's told, doesn't steal or do anything bad, and lets everyone just walk all over her. Of course, that's what she's supposed to do. She has to do what anyone of higher rank tells her to do, which is most of everybody. Neis has about no skills, and failing at everything she tried was the main reason she became a drudge in the first place. The only thing she is mildy good at is falconry, where she managed to train a raven as a child. Her raven goes wherever it wants, but always finds and returns to Neis before dark. Neis is too timid for her own good, and there's almost no way for her to escape her caste. She can't be a thief, she isn't quiet or sly enough. She can't be a hunter, she's terrible at using a bow. She definitely can not be an Endal, not a single Wind Eagle has ever bat an eye at her. She's too clumsy to work with glass, isn't allowed to go anywhere near books, and failed the times she tried healing and blacksmithing. Neis is intelligent, and she is very curious and has an intuitive mind, but she never gets, and never got the chance, to show it. Neis only has two extreme fears: of the dark, and of thunder/lightening. She can't really explain why, and only work keeps her from hiding under a blanket or something similar when it's dark or thundering. ![]() Neis's mother was a dek, her father unknown. She had a twin brother, whom she refuses to speak of, because he ended up becoming an Endal, and treats Neis as badly as he does all the other drudges. Neis was raised in the communal nursery, along with the other children of deks. But unlike most of the other children, when she was taught archery or assigned Bendi, she had extreme difficulty learning how to do anything. Because of this, she was declared hopeless and was assigned the only caste she was apparently 'capable' of being in: Dek. Since then, she's worked, worked, and worked, always having to listen to others and do what others have told her. It has dampened the happy spirit she was as a child, and has left Neis no hope of escaping her fate. |
