Neis meets another Dek, Miana, and although they have met before, it's like they have met for the first time.

"What? ...oh right. Yeah." Suddenly feeling embarrassed for herself, for asking someone to be her friend. She knew why they couldn't be friends, why they couldn't have friends. It was all so...stupid. If she were an Endal instead of...her brother, then she could be friends with anyone. Everyone.
Luck hadn't decided to grace her presence at all during Yasi-hood. Neither had skill, but they were often intertwined together. It was Luck that had someone help her at the moment, and Skill that was the reason she needed help in the first place. Or more so, lack of skill. There had to be someone to clean up everyones' messes, whether they were recognized for their importance or not. It was funny how all the castes were of almost equal importance, yet still stacked on top of eachother like building blocks. Dek were the base. Important, yet unrecognized, keeping the city running. If it weren't for them, the city wouldn't flow. If it weren't for anyone, if one caste went missing, the city would die. It was a wonder that many people didn't realize it.
She did mind. And she did freely give it out. Friendship was the replacement for the family she had never had, the one family that abandoned her. Neis knew what she looked like. She was probably not much younger than this girl, this one that acted so much older. Stupid.
"No, it's alright. I think I'm fine now...I'll be going. Bye." She pulled away from the girl, from the help she had been offering. It wasn't wanted nor was it needed any longer, and she hurt more than she should've. Neis walked out the door without another word, not another look at the girl. She didn't care for her name. At least her hand was feeling better. |

Neis had disappeared before Miana could comprehend what her words meant to the younger dek. She had stood up before Miana could fathom her hurt and embarrassed actions, and she was gone by the time she had realised what she had lost due to her own vagueness.
Suddenly feeling very aware of the small dusty storeroom, Miana hauled herself to her feet, dusting off the imaginary dirt off her lontev. Impulsively, she turned and stole a glance at a door. A lump formed at her throat, her stomach sank. For some reason, she had an overwhelming want to run after her, grab her by the arm and tell her... Miana smiled softly. No, she had nothing to tell her. There would be no dramatic chases. The moment had long passed. She was fine on her own.
Tucking in her brown hair into her left ear, fully displaying her unusual ear, Miana stretched slovenly, readying herself for another bout with the laundry salts.

The Order of the PhoenixVery cute thread, you two. I would have liked to see it go further, have the two interact more outside of the baths but there are always other threads for that! I enjoyed the honesty between the two.
I also hate giving Rhetoric points, but for Miana especially they seemed relevant. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to send me a PM. As always, keep writing!
