Season of Winter, Day 17, 511AV

It was cold.

Bitterly cold.

And truth be told it was not the cold that bothered her. In fact, the decrease in temperature hardly made any difference to Ndale, she found it curious, if anything, for Mura was not nearly as cold. But the wind in Zelvita was biting, sweeping down from the frost tipped mountains, strong and with a vengeance that nearly made her regret leaving the warmth of her cottage.

Still, she could not help but go. It made her happy and that was something she wanted to dissect. She wanted to know why it made her smile. Why the salt air and the soft lapping of waters mixed with the everyday hustle and bustle of the docks made her…content.

Brushing past the people with relative ease she watched the water with a twinge of wistfulness, she had attempted and for reasons unknown to her, failed at swimming. Not a week before this she had walked to the docks and simply stepped off the edge. The cold, stinging depths had not only stunned her but nearly drowned her; it was not something she wished to repeat, no matter how enticing entering the sea seemed.

Strangely enough the docks were not as quiet as she had though they would be, she had assumed, like most things, that the Season of Winter put everything at a dead halt. Especially water travel but it seemed not to matter, people milled about, boats were loaded and cleaned. She had nearly been there two years but weaving through the precision that was the docks came with the ease, though more often than not she usually came in her animal form, it was much quicker. This day had been much to chilly for that though and so she made her way to the less populated area of the docks, tugging her jacket around her and wondering, fleetingly, if she should invest in a cloak.

Once she was free of the traffic that swarmed the docks, she settled herself comfortably one of the pier poles, to most though, it would look like she was attempting an acrobatic feat. Her legs tucked under her in a crouch while the rest of her body leaned forward awkwardly. She suspected it was due to her animal forms habit of perching like so when she did not change forms. It was better to stay like that most days anyhow, seeing as she would eventually get lead back towards the city so as to not get in the way of ‘traffic’.

But even the short amount of time she was there was enough, people watching did not require a great deal of effort, she only had to pick a target.

[Location--The Docks]Twenty Questions[Siarak]

OOC(Sorry it took so long)
Siarak push his way through the traffic of people he was trying to find some were he can get something to eat but felling badly. Adding to his bad sense of direction this traffic was working on his nerves. He was half tempted to throw a wave of air to knock the people out of his way. But he knows that would be foolish and childish but still it would make him feel better Siarak thought bitterly his eyes brown with a ting of red in them. But if only he could find someone to give him dictions but everyone is rushing pass him, and not even pausing long enough for him to ask. While Siarak was standing there he notice a curious site off in the distance a white hair girl crouch down on one of the pier poles. Normally he wouldn’t care but something about the way she is sitting reminds him so much of a bird that his curiosity got the better of him. So he push his way thought the traffic of people until he got close enough to the girl so that wouldn’t have to yell so loudly over the crowed. “Hey you what are you doing up there “he yelled so he sure she can hear him, his eyes a mixture of colors to reflect this mood.

[Location--The Docks]Twenty Questions[Siarak]

Postby Ndale Soromund on March 9th, 2012, 3:53 am

She was used to people scolding her for climbing the pier posts and was tempted to ignore the man, the breeze had finally stopped—for the moment—and she was not as cold as she was a few chimes ago. But when she gazed down her eyes caught something odd. Most humans eyes were one distinct shade of gray, usually a mundane color or something unique to their race though mostly human scholars and Svefra lived in Zeltiva so she was more used to blues. Still she doubted many peoples (at least none she knew of) had changing eyes. Perhaps it was a trick of the light but she doubted it.

Pitching her body the rest of the way forward she allowed herself to fall off the post, her knees and palms hitting the dock. But within moments she was back on her feet, getting much too much in the man’s face, her palms coming to rest on his face without permission. It was no trick of the light, his eyes seemed to meld into different grays, showing her too many of the spectrum for her to pinpoint a color.

“Amazing.” She fell back into Kontinese and then quickly caught herself, “Sitting.”

It was the answer to his previous question but she was too distracted by his eyes to really pay attention to what she was saying, “Can you do that on purpose?”

A loud whistle pulled her back though, her body jerking slightly and nearly flinging her into the water. Another catcall followed by a few good natured jests about Ndale’s and the young man’s proximity, of course, she did not understand a word of the innuendo and simply smiled.

Wondering what she was doing, but before he could even get is his thoughts together in his min to ask a question the unusual girl was upon him faster than quicksilver. With her hands on both sides how his face, and she lean her face in so close to his for a moment there Siarak thought she was going to kiss him. But she didn’t the only thing she did was stare at his eyes. Adjusting over the strange turn of events Siarak’s shock quickly turns into outage of the girl violating his personally space uninvited and very unwanted. He was on the verge of physically pushing her off of him when he notices her eyes. “What is she” he thought to himself, at first he assume she Konti going by her pale skin and white hair. But the last time he check they didn’t have ruby red eyes. He was so distracted by her eyes Siarak fell to notice that the girl was talking to him. By then the only thing he caught he say was that she was asking him can he do that on purpose. Confuse by the question Siarak was about to ask what she was talking about but was cut short by a loud whistle which cause the girl to pull back from him. Siarak was more than happy to regain his personal space, by glancing around himself just noticing that they have attracted themselves a small crowd of people of was catcalling no doubt hoping to get a show from them. Sneering in disgust at those fools Siarak turn his gaze back to the girl by now his own eyes have specks of red in them to reflect his displeasure at the striation they was in. “I hope you don’t greet every one like” Siarak scoff at the girl while straightening any wrinkles that he may have in his trench coat, “On that note what did you men can I do that on purpose” he said taking a step towards her, “And I would like to ask what are you” he pointed a finger at her not really caring is that was rude with his embarrassment of the crowd and the his curiosity combine getting the better of him.

[Location--The Docks]Twenty Questions[Siarak]

Postby Ndale Soromund on April 18th, 2012, 2:23 am

Hostility was a common thing that cornered animals gave off and this human was no different. Warning bells sounded and she retreated a few more steps as his finger jutted out towards her. Cocking her head she ignored him for a few moments, a plain smile blooming on her face. Interesting man with interesting eyes, she was nearly sure they matched her own color now but they had not been that way previously. Did he not know what his own body did? How odd.

“I did not greet you?” it was more of a question than anything else, she hadn’t greeted the man so why had he said she did?
“Oh! Yes! Greet!”

Reaching for his pointed finger, she attempted to grip it as if to shake it but thought better of it and dropped her hand. Settling for a wave Ndale began to circle the man, tilting her head this way and that. Would the rest of him change color too?

Ah. He was still speaking. Trying to spilt her attention was difficult but she caught the gist of what he asked.

“Your eyes. They change.”

Her circle was coming to a halt as she nearly ran into the people littering the docks and returned to her original position, still standing much too close to the man. Perhaps he was one of those slow minded people that she had heard about at the hospital. His questions seemed to make him so.

Speaking as if it were the most obvious thing in the world Ndale told him exactly what she was,
“I am Ndale Soromund. Do the rest of you change color too?”

She did not truly wait for an answer though, instead deciding to return to her perch and hear him out or let him wander away. His agitation seemed a little dangerous and she did not feel the need to be smacked by another annoyed human.
