OOCPermission granted from Cheshire. Thank you :)

The deep and cold winter breeze bellowed over Windward Boardwalk. Yes, the winds in Avanthal were cold, but there was something colder, yes, even colder than that. A lone cloak waved and waned in the wind, the wooded park about empty this time of night. Torches were lit providing the figure who stood there just enough light to practice. Well, in reality the lack of light had nothing to do with being unable to practice. The figure could practice without light, and with light. It mattered not. Especially when you were working with nothing. Nothing is what this mage practiced. Nothing, but something happened when nothing became a reality.

For all she knew the magus was alone, the wizard of the void however, did not mind. Nothing was a dangerous thing to wield, a dark thing, a cold thing, and it was perhaps one of the most deadly magics to be practiced in modern Mizahar. Yes it took great skill, practice, patience, and coloring in the lines to not have died at the wizards age and skill.

”Everything comes from nothing.” she whispered on the winds, ”And to nothing everything will return. I will see to that.”The wizard stood there, motionless, as her thoughts were on the void. She was in her own little world now nothing could distract her, but maybe a subtle touch. The soft nip of the wind made her shutter, but then she remembered this cold was nothing, is nothing, compared to the emptiness of the void.

To CorenShort post is short. :P

Coren was taking his evening walk through the windward boardwalk, the cold and harsh winterbreeze leaving him unfazed. Not only did Morwen's grace protected him against the icy cold the thick and comfortable wintersbane robe he was wearing was also kept the cold from reaching his flesh. He often took an evening walk to put all the events of the day in order, it helped him make sense of what happened and it kept his memory in a pretty good shape. Not to mention going over the events in that way always calmed him down and helped him sleep later.

As he took a turn the a tingling sensation began to make itself know right in his neck. Coren had long ago realized that such a feeling meant that somebody was using magic of some kind in the vicinity. His curiosity peeked he tried to track down where that person was. Though he cursed the fact he never learned auristic's trying to find a mage by how strong the feeling is at the moment is an infuriating task.

After a few chimes of searching he finally found the mage working the magic. The feeling he got was pretty strong and the woman was the only person around. Taking care not to get to close, since he had no clue what magical discipline the woman was using he didn't want to get fried in a burst of flame or something similar if he startled her.
“Hello there.” He spoke up in a clear voice. “It is a nice evening to be practicing your magical discipline isn't it.” He was going to bite the bullet and immediately fess up that he knew what she was doing.

The woman’s concentration was broke as she heard the voice behind her. ”You know” she said not quite turning around, but looking over her shoulder, ”It can be deadly to sneak up on a wizard like that” she said, moving her foot, half turning around, ”Especially one that can make things disappear.” she said, ”What is your purpose here? IF you have no reason leave me”

With that silence would fall, swopping down to consume the noise of the woman like some hawk waiting for prey. It was an intense silence but it still was something. The concept existed. Though the concept of nothing existed it could not be felt or heard quite like silence could. Silence seemed to have a voice of its own sometimes, weaving truths in unspoken words, and filling the gap that sound left. Silence was not nothing, it had a power of its own, a unique and instinctual power, and when used properly it could be a very effective weapon.

Another wind swept the land, the trees rustled and bowed to the force of the wind, or maybe they were dancing as the shadows did with light? The torches flickered splattering light all over the place, weakening it, allowing darkness to consume it once more before it gained strength again and pushed the shadows back. It was a constant struggle between light and dark, what would come out of this meeting?

”You are not supposed to be here…” she said hearing footsteps in the distance, the people who she was meeting, ”Please, leave before you get hurt.” now she sounded… concerned?

Coren wasn't really surprised at the woman's reaction, though the way she didn't try to keep the fact she was a mage, that was something he would never consider doing at all.
“Well, I know that, which was why I called out towards you to get your attention.” Coren said in a calm tone as he respectfully kept his distance from the wizard. “And as for my purpose, like I said I noticed somebody manipulating djed in the neighborhood, so I was curious what art the mage was practicing and maybe find out who the other mage besides me is. Wouldn't you like to know those things either of other mages if you had the chance?” Coren honestly asked the woman, trying to place the small hint she gave about being able to make things disappear with a specific magical discipline. Though he came up completely blank, he didn't know many other disciplines aside his own ones though.

Coren frowned a bit as the woman suddenly warned him to get out of here before he would get hurt.
Now he knew for sure she wasn't threatening him, he knew enough about intimidating people that you usually didn't feel any concern for them. There was no magic going on to endanger him either, he didn't feel the tingling that usually accompanied it.
“Get hurt? What is going to hurt me if I don't leave?” Coren asked with confusion evident in his voice, the sounds of oncoming footsteps where completely unnoticed.

Now wasnt the time for talk, no, and she knew it. Looking at the other she let out an aggravated growl, "Go before you are seen." she urged him but the steps were closer now, it was too late.

"I thought we were going to meet alone." a mans voice cut through the air, "This was not part of the deal at all. What were you planning to do with your little accomplice?' he laughed, stepping into the firelight, "Thankfully I thought something like this would happen, and so..." more footsteps could be heard, shadows between the trees, "I brought a little help of my own." there could be heard snickering, "Never trust a wench, especially one who wields the void." his words were smitten with authority "Now, I trust even you are not stupid enough to try to pull a fast one on us. Do you have it?"

The mage nodded looking around, two, four, no six more people besides the pleasure standing before her and the other mage, the one who shouldnt even be here, "You think so lowly of me." she said, hand disappearing into her cloak and when it came out produced a small what looked like coin purse, but were coins in it? "Here it is." she said throwing it up and catching the bag in her hand again, "What about my end?"

The man nodded and a bigger bag was produced and it seemed to squirm, there was something living in it. "Here he is." the guy said throwing the bag on the snow below at the womans feet, and the 'wench' throw the coin purse at the man. Once the exchange was made the bigger bag was carefully untied and brought out of it was a collared kitten. In the faint torch light the voider seemed to look over the cat before hugging it close to her breast, "Thank the gods you are not hurt." there was a mixture of relief and worry in her voice.

Though the exchange didnt seem to be quite over yet the men who the man brought with him were advancing and out of nowhere a rough balled fist hit the witch knocking her into the snow and the kitten was once again taken away from her, "You broke the deal." the man said, "I said come alone yet you bring another." A sharp kick was delivered to the woman who still hadnt recovered from the blow she received earlier, "We are going to have to teach you both a lesson."

A sharp look of daggers was shot at the ringleader. Then there was the scream of an animal in sheer pain, the person who had taken the kitten had took the liberty to break one of its legs. "No!" there was a yell from the witch, "Dont hurt him." she begged and but was silenced with another blow. Though if Coren was lucky he would see two men coming for him.

“Now lets not be hasty,” Coren tried to reassure the person.“ I just was walking by on my evening walk. I had nothing to do with it.” At first it seemed that him being here wouldn't be any repricussions. The exchange went of without a hitch and it seemed her pet was delivered back safely. Then in just a few scant moments the first halfway peacefull situation went to hell quicker he could. One moment everything was still fine and the other few he was dumbstruck as one of the men was torturing the animal and the leader was kicking the downed woman. After a scant moment of being dumbstruck at the cruelity of the men he yelled out in fury at the men.

“I told you I wasn't with her! I was taking a walk, you bastard” He let the djed surge through his body, collecting it in his right arm and he pushed out his astral body. He didn't blink or whince at the alien feeling of not feeling anything in his right arm and ignored it as it suddenly fell limp besides his body.
Coren lashed out with his astral limb towards the ringleader. Aiming a sloppy punch towards the man's throat. Hoping that the fact the limb was invisible was good enough for it to hit true.

Before he was able to follow up after his first attack with his projected limb he saw the two men coming his way he grit his teeth. This was going to hurt. He braced himself and clenched his fist. Retracting his astral limb back to him and trying to trip one of the men up before they where on him.

oocSorry for taking sooo long. I forgot the plot when you got back, and I now had time to think up of a new one. Let’s try to get this done fast.

The projected arm hit the leader of the pack, knocking him back, staggering him as he grasped at his throat. A choking noise came from him as he struggled to breathe, another step backwards, another step, another step, he tripped over his own two feet and fell to the ground still gasping for air. The man had no idea what hit him, concern flashed through his eyes, as he choked a little more struggling for his life. Then he didn’t move no more. The punch had collapsed the man’s throat and made it impossible to breathe, killing the man through suffocation.

Seeing how their leader died seemingly without cause caused the people following him to drop the kitten and look at the witch in horror. Did she do that? They didn’t want to stick around and find out. Turning and running their feet were loud in the snow as they let out a surprised yell. Having recovered from her state, her eyes were lit with a fiery fury, ”You will not escape” she yelled at them, throwing an arm forward, making multiple gestures, a look of concentration spread across her face and sometime later a speck of darkness, blacker than black, appeared and started to grow larger and larger and larger still, large enough to all too easily suck in the two men.

Then a force, a sucking vacuum, acted upon the environment pulling in snow, grass, even the dead body of the leader. It increased in force and intensity pulling in everything around it. Luckily Coren was now behind the advancing mage as she tried to absorb more and more of the land into the portal trying to catch the people who had ran away. Though to no avail. Her rage subsided as she heard a meow, breaking her concentration. Looking down she saw the kitten and frowned, falling down, losing the spell letting the darkness fall back into the nothingness which it came. ”What have they done to you?” she scooped the little kitten carefully up in her arms, standing up slowly, trying not to bump or move the kitten too much.

Looking at the man before her, she bowed her head, ”Thank you.” she said.

Coren's eyes widenend a bit in shock underneath his hood as unlike he had thought, the man didn't just grasp for his throat in pain, but he had actually felt something give away when his etherial fist had hit the man in the throat, and to his horror it was quickly confirmed as he saw the man fall to the ground, making some choking sounds before falling still.
As he was transifed by the horror he was watching he didn't notice the two men drop what they where doing and turned tail at what they had seen. Until the woman yelled out towards the woman with hatred easily audible in her voice, pulling coren attention away from the dying man.

As he saw the woman open up a portal to straight nothingness, coren could relate to how most normal people felt when they saw him practice his magic, the sight was quite disturbing. But unlike those other folk he didn't recoil in horror. Instead he found himself intrigued by this new and fascinating branch of magic. A hole to the void sucking up everything is his wake. The horror at the fact he had just did was quickly overtaken by the curiosity and giddyness about actually seeing something he didn't know in action.

Much to his regret, he couldn't see a full force of her power, as the two hoodlums escaped and the woman had to collapse the.. Portal.
“It wasn't a problem, I am all for helping out my fellow mages.” Coren offered after she thanked him, pulling his projected body back and gently easing it back into place.
“Are you and your cat alright?” Coren asked, trying to keep his gaze away from the dead body lying not to far away. He wanted to keep that out of his mind for a bit longer.
