“Alright, I set up the shield. You know the drill, I can only keep the water out for so long.” Said the Svefra man. He was one of four explorers who entered the enigmatic ruins; his companions included a cloaked man, a cloaked woman, and a child who curiously followed the couple around. Unfortunately he shot words into a void. Mold, darkness, and distant drops hitting the floor were the only things the group’s senses could register.

“Sure thing friend.” Retorted the cloaked man, who seemed to be the leader. “We’ll be right out.”

At that he revealed a torch and lit it using Reimancy, but what they uncovered made everybody’s jaw drop. Glyphs in the ancient tongue lined the walls, the ceiling was covered in colorful collages made of tiles, and this seemed to go on forever. Considering it’s location at the Suvan Sea’s wild depths, the lack of water damage was nothing short of a miracle. These were remnants of the city that is no more, Suva, and as the group would soon discover it wasn’t just some building.

“Astonishing…” Said the man, Sylvio, pulling his hood off in disbelief.

“Indeed…” Muttered his female counterpart, Lus, also removing her hood.

“What is this momma?” Pondered the boy, seeing what many never would, but when he didn’t get an answer he asked the next person. “…Papa?”

“This, son, is hopefully the answer to what we are looking for.” Answered Sylvio after a few seconds of awe. “Lets go.” He quickly added and led his trio into the mysterious abyss.

Minutes of walking sped by, and slowly the couple was beginning to understand what they’d stumbled upon; truly it was marvelous. This seemed to be a library or crypt of sorts for the court wizards of the old Suvan Empire, when chaos took hold most of the books and scrolls were looted, but the magic engraved in the walls stood strong. When at last they reached the end of the passage a massive dome shaped room opened up. Hundreds of waterlogged chronicles lay on the floor, on the remnants of bookshelves, on random nooks throughout the structure. Both Lus and Sylvio ran off to delve into the mystery; this was any scholars’ paradise!

While his parents were preoccupied the young lad, Claus, a bright kid, found something else much more interesting. A stone tablet lay upon the wall on the opposite side of the chamber, words and numbers were sprawled out on its entirety, no space left unmarked, everything done with uncanny precision…

“Roza djas-randjat.” Claus read, but this simple phrase triggered an inconceivable chain of events; it was an immaculate example of youthful curiosity gone marvelously wrong.

The boy fell to his knees, the scars on his hands (from his christening to Reimancy) and just about every orifice on his body started glowing with ethereal luminations. Res was pouring out of his body and reacting with everything in range; the ground around him burst with earthen spears, the water turned to fog, and the fire on the torches burst in a ring around him. This, obviously, instantly caught his parent’s attention who immediately ran to his aide only to be stopped by the uncontrolled arcane forces at work.

“Damn!” Snarled Sylvio who was at a loss as to what he should do next. There weren’t many options, they couldn’t call Kai, they couldn’t just run to him (Sylvio already having nearly been impaled by an earth spike), their only option was Lus, but she was in a maelstrom of mixed emotion.

“CLAUS!!!! MY BABY!” Screamed Lus among tears. Her motherly instincts were having a serious battle with her logical sense to not run into the killer mess.

“Calm down dear, he’ll be alright, but only if you calm down. You’re the only one that can help him.” Sylvio started reassuringly, embracing his wife tightly. “Project your astral body in there and get some sense into that boy.”

Lus merely nodded and closed her eyes, beginning an incantation. If anything was for certain, not many groups were as skilled at magic as this bunch. Sylvio was a master of Reimancy, Kai the same at Shielding, and Lus an expert in Projection and Alchemy.
