50 Spring 512 Bones had had a long day... He had been working fighting monsters in Alvadas all day, alongside the other citizens with fighting skills, so was ready for a good long rest... He was sleeping on a simple bedroll, when half awake, he heard some noise... But he was to tired to bother with it... That is until he heard a deep chittering noise... He opened his eyes to see a huge bushy tale, and something rooting in his chest. Bones rolled onto his chest, and popped up, trying to be silent, and not alert whatever it was... But this did not work, and the beast turned around, letting out a chittering sound once more, holding his shirt in its mouth... His only shirt! The thing had his only shirt! It took Bones a moment to realize that the thing was a horribly mutated squirrel, about four feet long, huge dagger like teeth, which were shredding his shirt, and a giant bushy tail which was as long as the rest of his body! "Hey, ssatsss my ssshirt!" Bones yelled at it, trying to tower over it and scare it into dropping his shirt, and running off... Instead it turned and ran, right out the open door, which the squirrel mutant had somehow opened, and ran down the open street. Bones chased after it, not even thinking or planning, only knowing he had to get his shirt back from it, or he would have to go around shirtless until he could buy a new one. If Bones had been thinking, he might have considered grabbing a weapon... Or his other weapon... Or his robes to cover up a bit... Instead he came running out of his house with nothing but his pants which he slept in on, not even wearing shoes. Bones chased after it, pumping his arms, trying to catch the thing, which seemed pretty fast at covering ground, since it was a sized up squirrel more or less... With dagger like claws and teeth... He was not the best runner though, so it was soon out of sight, Bones did his best to keep up... But he lost it... Only to go around a corner, and nearly barrel into the beast. It had dropped his shirt, which was shredded to the point of being useless, on the ground, and was running in the opposite way, making a high pitched chittering noise... It seemed... Scared... But as Bones thought of this, he realized something... He was weaponless in Alvadas, with a bunch of monsters running around... And something was big and bad enough to scare off a four foot tall squirrel... Bones only now realized how petched up he was... And how thoughtless he was to have run off without anything... Now would be a really bad time to run into a monster... Well, Bones was still not that scared, he after all was nearly a monster himself... |
