[Shishi]

Hazel eyes went wide in shock as the lioness saw Cade. He was moving slowly towards her with his blue eyes locked on her gold. Shishi was so ashamed, so embarrassed, so afraid that he would hate her. She had deceived him. She was not human and she never would be. That was the cold reality of the world.

The lioness lay on the cold ground. Tail down and head down, she wished she could just disappear. She covered her eyes with her paws. If she could cry in this self she would of. In such a short time, she cared so much for this man. But, the lioness lied to him and now he would hate her. He’d probably kill her for her deceit. Or worse, leave her alone.

Then the lioness heard her name. Cade’s voice was calm, she didn’t sense anger there. She was so upset with herself though, she groaned but it may of sounded like a growl. Cade spoke again, he told her that nothing was going to change. Shishi didn’t move. The man she cared for so much, pleaded with her not to run. Shishi wouldn’t run. His voice was so soothing, and Cade did not have a naturally soothing voice.

Slowly, the lioness removed her paws from her eyes. She looked at Cade sadly. He would hate her. The lioness didn’t lift her head. She didn’t move her body. She was still as she stared, trying to understand the emotion in Cade’s eyes.
