Asha tilted her head in thought as Zahlee’s words sunk into her mind and directed her thoughts. No wonder she rarely witnessed a Kelvic shift more than once a day if the shift was taxing for them. And it rather explained the often voracious appetites of those she had witnessed shift. What an intriguing notion. She had very little experience or knowledge of magic, particularly of the ancient magic that created the Kelvics. The Kelvics were a very odd race but now Asha felt intrigued by the bestial creatures. She wondered briefly about how Kelvics managed their shift in appearances but the topic was so immense and daunting she quickly pushed it away. That would a field of study for a later date perhaps a hundred years or so. Mayhap then she would be wise enough to comprehend such matters. “That’s very interesting Zahlee, I had no idea it was so tiring for Kelvics to change forms. I must admit I’ve never quizzed a Kelvic about their life very deeply.” Asha admitted with a small grin. She left out the fact that she had previously thought Kelvics too dull of a subject to consider. “It’s unfortunate that it’s so tiring for you to shift. I imagine you must miss your true animal form terribly. I know I would miss my Jamoura body if I had to waltz around as a silly human.” “And no, I’m certainly no teacher. I’m not as good with plants as you think. I work for a Jamoura named Mogg and he gives me pretty detailed instructions. Without those I would be completely lost and probably end up somehow killing the entire forest. I guess you could say I’m very good at following instructions. And, well, picking weeds isn’t very difficult. At least it wasn’t after I learned which plants are which.” Asha chortled gleefully at her own admission. She didn’t like to admit not being skilled at something but she was rather prone to honesty. It was almost unfortunate. “Oh, passion, um….. sorry for the confusion. What I meant by passion is something you care about very, very much. Something that makes you want to wake up in the morning and visits your dreams in the night. For me, I love to learn, especially about other races and creatures. I’m passionate about learning of foreign races you see. That’s what I mean about passion. Is there anything you feel passionate about yet? Or are you still searching, young friend?” As she spoke her hand gestured around the space in front of her and her eyes sparkled happily as she mentioned what truly interested her. All the different creatures flooding the Base Camp to aid the Spires had cemented her desire firmly. She longed to see every race of sentient creature alive and study their existence and habits extensively. |
