Galene
Race: Konti
Age: Thirty
Birthday: 54th of spring, 482 AV
Gender: Female
Languages: Kontinese; Fluent
Common; Basic
Physical Description
Standing at about five foot one, and only holding about ninety pounds behind her, Galene is one of the smaller Konti- though not abnormally so. Galene looks like the typical Konti, very light features all around from her soft blonde hair, to her light gray blue eyes, to her pale skin with reflective white scales peaking out around her neck, wrists, ankles, and other various places throughout her body. She prefers to keep to lighter tones when she dresses, not wanting to break the pattern the goddess blessed her with. Directly over her bellybutton, at the edge of a straying line of silvery scales is the mark of Avalis granted to her at birth.

Personality

As a person, Galene has many of the typical Konti traits. She comes off as a generally quiet person, very loyal, and does not like conflict at all. Though, beyond those basic traits Galene is quite a strange Konti. She has a love for adventure, and is incredibly curious when it comes to new things. Though she has never left the island, she one day hopes to adventure far passed the oceans she has seen and played in every day for as long as she can remember. She absolutely loves the island though, she's quite proud of who she is and her heritage. Galene is quite picky with who she keeps by her side, she doesn't like getting hurt so she does everything in her power to keep herself out of situations that may cause her harm. This causes her to generally dislike being in large groups, or even just areas with lots of people around. She doesn't like to put herself out there, so it's quite a task to force herself to do just that. However, when she does find someone she considers worth the risk, she will treat them with the utmost respect and love. She is very loyal to those she keeps close, and considers her word to be the most important thing she can give. This being said, Galene does not like to be lied to and it's something that's very hard to make up for. When she does not like someone she simply tries her hardest to avoid them, she will not be rude nor will she tell them off. This can cause to be a problem, because she does not stick up for herself at all. She doesn't like to be around problems, much less cause them and when it all comes down to it Galene rarely ever puts her own needs first. Galene isn't the strongest of people, and doesn't have too many useful combat abilities either. From all of her adventuring as a child she is quite the swimmer, but she never took up too many other useful outdoors skills. She absolutely loves the water, considering it much more of a home to her than the above world is- though she spends an equal amount of time in both.
She considers herself more faithfully a follower of Avalis, because of her mark and abilities, but does also worship the god Laviku for gifting the world with the oceans she loves so much, as well as loosely the goddess Rak'keli for keeping her in good health. Galene will often make comments about how sometimes she feels much more at home under the waves than she does with her feet firm on the ground. She loves the water, and everything inside of it even if it has caused her the most harm. Galene doesn't put much thought into things when she's injured, and simply spends a bit more time praying to Rak'keli, almost apologizing for not keeping up on her end of staying well. This being said, Galene is a heavily religious person, she follow Avalis in everything she does praying to her for her guidance daily, as well as thanking her for everything she's been given.

Past
Galene was born in Mura to a smaller family for the area- she simply had her mother, and grandmother- both marked by Rak'keli at birth and working as healers. She never met her father, nor did she ever really ask about him. Her mother told her plenty without her ever needing to ask- but the only thing she really paid much attention to is that he was a human with bright green eyes that wanted nothing to do with a child. As a young Konti marked by Avalis, Galene spent most of her time with others that could relate better to the visions she would have. When she wasn't trying to get a better understanding of this gift, she would spend a good deal of time by herself adventuring around the island. Galene would explore the outskirts of Mura the most, along the depths of the water that other Konti didn't occupy quite as much. Whenever she went exploring she always made it her goal to find something she hadn't seen before- whether it be a strangely shaped rock or an old Miza. Though some of the places she may had been in could have been quite dangerous children always seem to have their ways in narrowly avoiding deadly situations- and, though a true wonder, Galene never seemed to get exceptionally harmed out on her adventures. She would always return by nightfall and kept a box of 'treasure' under her bed.
The older she got the more responsibility was put on her, she was expected to help out a lot more around the house. Taught basic cooking skills, along with just general housekeeping. No matter what- her divination always came first though. She always wanted to have a better control over it, as her visions were generally clear, but being in the past very rarely of much use to her personally. However, when she was about twenty four years of age she had a terrible vision involving her grandmother. It wasn't very graphic she was simply floating in a body of water, lilies surrounding her completely- her pale green eyes seemed glazed over. Staring forward but not looking at anything. Peaceful. Lifeless. Surely enough, a few hours later, her grandmother was found in that very position. It was quite a tragic event for the family, though they understood it was something that happened to everyone eventually. Soon after her grandmother passed away her mother announced that she was going to be leaving the island, that she had never really gotten a chance to travel and was afraid that her time was, much like her grandmother's had been, almost over. With her mother away and her grandmother gone Galene felt that she wanted a place of her own, a house she worked hard to keep up. So she simply cleaned up the house she grew up in and got herself a small cottage on the ocean. She was quite pleased to finally have a place she could decorate at her own will- right up against the ocean at that.

Ability How obtained Description
Breathing underwater Racial ability Being a Konti, Galene was born with gils and thus has the ability to breath underwater just as well as she can breath above it.
Association Sensing Konti Gift When Galene was born she, like all Konti women, was born with a special gift. She herself was born with the ability to sense the general group of people that one associates themselves with. If she does not personally know any of that person's circle of 'friends' then she will only be able to tell the most basic thing that they all have in common. She simply gets a very strong gut feeling that most of the people they associate themselves are very sly, creative, or even just have a love for the ocean. However if she has ever encountered someone this person keeps company with, she will recognize that they know one another. This has to be a direct encounter, someone that Galene herself has at least held a conversation with before and someone that the other person may consider a friend, or simply have had multiple contacts with. Indirect relationships are not accounted for, so friends of friends do not affect Galene's gift. A name will simply come to mind when she meets these kinds of people- and this overpowers the more general relations she could have had before. For instance, if she were to meet someone that associated mainly with people that held no value for life, she would have a thought in the back of her head when she would meet this person that they kept company with those that did not value life. However, if she were to meet the same person and they were close with perhaps her mother at some point the only thing Galene would notice would be that they knew her mother. This comes in the form of a thought when she chooses to focus on a certain person, eye contact helps clarity but is not required. It's always a trait, and it causes Galene to more than often jump to false conclusions about people- as not everyone is the same as those they keep company with.

Exploration 'Treasures'
Galene has a very strange obsession with collecting things, whenever she goes somewhere memorable she likes to pick up the oddest thing she finds and store it in the chest in her house. These are the only things that occupy this chest- there is a similar one at her old home from her childhood, but she choose to start over again with her new home. The items found in this chest are all quite random, and hold nothing more than sentimental value to the Konti that owns it. To a stranger the items appear as nothing more than junk collected by a child, but Galene could tell quite the tale about each of them.

Summer 512
Object Obtained Description
Small red berry Day at the Market A small red berry with a violet tint to it, not for consumption. If one were to ask Galene what this was and why she kept it she would simply say talking otters give strange peace offerings.
