Built high in the massive branches of Taldera's bloodwood forest, The Spires is a city crafted by the peaceful and scholarly Jamoura. Considered a haven for scholars and sages Mizahar-wide, The Spires is a mecca of philosophy and science that draws people from far and wide with its promise of deeper thinking and higher reasoning.

Shadowfang looked at her. That had been a question, right? Before he could react, a knee slammed into him just above his groin. He shouted in pain and surprise, stumbling backward and tripping over his bunk. His hands went to protect his sensitive parts and, even though there was no damage, he began to cough almost painfully. After his initial shock, of course, there was anger. This stupid girl who was quickly becoming quite the thorn in his side, wanted to fight him! Well a quick knee to the growing had decided his answer for him. He would happily oblige.

He scrambled back to his feet, raging mad and snarling viciously. "GRAAHHH! You stop that!" There was not enough room to leap at her again. He bent over, pointing his shoulder at the little girl, and stepped forward, trying to push her with his own body. He followed by swinging his arm at her face, trying to strike her with the back of his clenched fist. In the cramped compartment of the crew's quarters, it would be hard for him to not have a fight that was nothing more than swinging claws and a thrashing body, but the least he could do was exhibit some amount of control.

Learning the Hard Way (Alea)

Postby Alea Davenport on January 11th, 2013, 8:38 pm

It might have been smarter for Alea to back away, and use her small size and maneuverability to her advantage, but as far as she was concerned, this fight was for fun, and so stubborn pride won out over survival instinct. When Shadowfang pushed forward, she pushed back, angling her body to brace against the floor, refusing to give even and inch of ground.

Maniacal laughter bubbled up from her throat, as the adrenaline rush from the contest of strength started getting to her. It was cut short when the Zith's fist connected with her face. The force of the blow forced her face to the side, and the shock of it made her lose focus on shoving Shadowfang so that she stumbled back a step.

Despite how many fights she'd been in, she had never actually been hit in the face before. The sensation was new, and a little disturbing, but it only took a moment for Alea to realize that, while her face did sting, it wasn't badly damaged. Despite targeting her face, like some kind of meanie-jerk, he hadn't done that much damage. Maybe a painful bruise would form, but nothing was particularly broken.

Of course, now that Shadowfang had officially declared faces fair game, Alea would hardly show mercy. A few methods of attack ran through her mind, but only one stuck. Moving in until she was right up against the Zith, she pulled her head back and then slammed her forehead into his face.

OOCThis is what you get for abandoning threads!

Alea did not expect the Zith to crumple just from one headbutt, but somehow, she seemed to have knocked him unconscious. She was mildly disappointed that their fun had ended so soon, but she couldn't very well continue attacking someone who was unconscious.

With an effort, she heaved his body toward his hammock. She tried lifting him into it, but after her insufficient strength dropped him on his head three more times, she realized she was hurting more than helping, so she just tried to pose him as comfortably as possible on the floor.

Then she left the cabin, going out on deck for a bit of fresh air, and finding some water to clean the blood of her scratches. And so she went about her day rather cheerfully, feeling quite invigorated.

As Shadowfang is inactive, I will not be grading for him. Should Shadowfang return, I will gladly regrade! I really enjoyed this thread and particularly how you handled Shadowfang’s absence. I’m sure he will wake up with a headache!

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your grade, please send me a PM and we can figure it out. :)
