50th of Summer, 512AV
Early Afternoon
He’d been in Syliras long enough to have a basic understanding of the city and he had decided it was time to visit the library. He’d heard any number of things about it and decided it was time to go look and see what he could find. Nothing had prepared him for what he saw when he opened the door, shelves upon shelves, hundreds and hundreds of books upon those shelves. He could spend years visiting this place and still have plenty to read, he walked around looking at various tomes as he did, but nothing really caught his interest. Eventually he simply chose books as he saw them taking a table in the back where he’d be less likely to be joined by many others and started reading. Some of the books included plant and animal life of the Syliran region, stuff on the Knights, the Windoak, the overall history, local food and drinks, but many others. He wound up having a stack of thirty different tomes next to him.
So engrossed was he in what he was reading that the day slowly passed him by, he hardly noticed anything going on around him except if someone passed by him. Torches being lit didn’t bother him either and he barely heard someone call out that the library was closing soon. All he heard was a voice, not the words, he was on the last tome by the time patrons were getting ready to leave. His presence wouldn’t be immediately noticed and any of the Knights and caretakers patrolling might not catch him till last minute. He was simply taking his time, devouring as much knowledge he could till he was forced to leave. The desire to see and to know was strong in him, he would probably spend years within the castle city reading through as much of the library as he could while working, especially if he managed to become a Knight. He hadn’t yet tried to apply, he was still getting used to the flow of the city.
