The market [Closed - Grandfathered]

Postby Fade on May 13th, 2010, 5:55 pm

65 day of Spring

Fade walked right into one of the main squares. The sunlight illuminated stalls and people. The sheer vibrancy of the place was astonishing.
Fade absorbed it all, the colours and the smells that made their way through the air.
She had half a mind to step into the crowd of street performers and stalls and do a little show. But her thoughts were always focusing on new things that surrounded her.
And there in the middle of the square she started to laugh, feeling the life around her, the freedom.
When she had finished browsing through various stalls she took her place among the performers and an exotic food stand, in its shadow she slipped of her dress to reveal her contortionist costume she had under. Her costume consisted in a simple white leotard.
She focused on her movements, and started to contort. She did her part perfectly the years of training taking the lead, face a smiling mask though her body was bending unnaturally. Her body moved seamlessly, moving from contortion with such grace it seemed so easy.
She took out her ball, making it run over her moving body like water, never making it fall: a foot, finger or elbow always catching it and sending it on its way.
Then she took the ball in her hand stretched and bent down backwards till she was flat against her legs and deposited the ball at her ankles, then she came slowly up till she was erect again and had a full view of the square...

The market [OPEN]

Postby Elliot Skythorn on May 13th, 2010, 6:17 pm

Another crowd, another bag of issues, another set of dull faces, another company of people calling him a freak, usually he would despise this place, but today something got him to visit the tavern...you could call it a whim. He walked amongst the bunch of short people who were looking up at his unusal image, he flexed his face into that famous grin that never got worn out or taken away, no matter the pain or disgrace. He laughed not even realizing how time is passing by quickly as he gazes his eyes upon the performers and as he withnesses their majestic skills.
One of the peroformers caught Elliot`s eye as he felt a force pulling him to come closer and observe her gracious movements, for a moment he felt as if the time that went so on so quickly that day has stopped and he slowly turned around expecting to see a street full of people all frozen up with their emotions interupted, but, everything was as it was a moment ago. Elliot stood there confused as he scratched the back of his head, than he quickly got his hood back up, wich has accidentaly fallen off some time ago, he just did not notice. No, he would not let his silly appearance or trivial things like that affect or interupt the show, as his hood was back in place and a crowd started to loiter around the young performer girl Elliot was back in his trance forgeting the trivial things around him.
Her body flexed with such grace that he was tempted to go over and touch it to make sure it isn`t an ilussion, a cheap magic trick. As his eyes continued to gaze her art, her body, it was as he felt it would be good if this could go on forever, but than a shove to the back from someone in the crowd gave him the reality check and he found himself back in the street, trying to get his precious trance back, no matter the cost

The market [OPEN]

Postby John Vicari on May 13th, 2010, 6:21 pm

John was doing basic shopping real fast until he saw a female along a ball doing tricks he thought could not be done. Her wavy ash blonde hair stood out in the bright sunlight along with her pale skin. The white outfit did not help either but he did not go meet her as she played along a ball moving her body in odd positions. It did seem she was getting a small crowd looking at her. His first thought she was just another performer in the city however she seemed more of a solo act then group.

He just stood back as another young teenager almost to a adult watching the young female work around the ball and let the gathering people watch and stare. His black cotton pants and white cotton shirt did not stand out nor was it the leather belt and black leather boots. But when he did move he had a small limp to his right side and that was one of the things that did stood out. Along with no weapons on his body but in the city that was just too much of a common trade.

He just watched waiting to see what would take place. Nothing more nor less really.

The market [OPEN]

Postby Kamrynn Sleightyr on May 13th, 2010, 6:51 pm

The market was an entirely different creature when he was off duty, Kamrynn decided. Without his knightly armor, he no longer found himself on the receiving end of unwarranted scowls from passersby, nor was he bothered by customers who demanded retribution against merchants who had swindled them. Best of all, the suns rays shone down on him in a gentle caress. Plated armor was terrible on these warm spring days.

Biting into an apple he had bought only moments earlier, he made his way to the front of a small crowd that had assembled around an entertainer.

A gorgeous young woman stood in the center of the ring of people, twisting and bending into impossible configurations. If any other had attempted it, it would have seemed horrifying or inhuman, but the woman commanded such grace and poise as she performed - it was breathtaking. Beautiful even. Adding to the mystique, a ball hovered and rolled along the curves of her body as if possesed by a life of its own.

When she finished her set, the small gathering applauded, offered up mizas and slowly began to disperse, but poor Kamrynn just stood there, dumbstruck and entirely smitten.

The market [OPEN]

Postby Elliot Skythorn on May 13th, 2010, 7:45 pm

The show ended, that fact barged in bringing the crude reality back in front of his eyes, and showing him that he is back to being a freak, he felt kinda sad for it, cause for the first time in a long time....he could finally feel like one from the crowd. As he turned around briefly he found a few people standing around him looking numb and gazing into the distance as that divine lady stopped, she just stopped moving. He was wandering, does any of them feel the way he does, does any of them still want to just stand there and remember, just stand there and do...nothing. Elliot started to feel weak in the knees and he kneeled down as he felt the need to kneel down to that....to that goddess.
Her grim and pale appearance started to brand in his memory forming once more a dream, an escape, a trance. His hood fell down again as the wind swept it away quickly, but he did not care anymore, for all he wanted to pay his atention to was her, and if she does not notice him, than all the better, and if she does....well than she is neither first nor the last to think of him as a freak.
He felt his hart beat strong in his chest as his desire edged him to move but his fears kept him tied down, and for the first time, he found himself questioning his own strength. There was just too much time to consider the "What if"s.
A strong feeling of cold touch his cheek, for a moment he thought that it was her hand and took up his gaze smiling only to find his gaze lost amidst the clouds that were gathered above his head, when did they gather he did not know, but it`s not like it mattered anyway.
A soft spring rain started to fall down as people began to run around in search for cover, and his only tought was "When all this is washed away, will she stay or disappear just like any other dream?"- and so he kneeled there as the heavens were crying down upon the earth

The market [OPEN]

Postby Fade on May 14th, 2010, 12:19 pm

Fade was lost in her inner world, her body moving in another reality, her mind adrift a frozen ocean. Every performer lives in his or her world while performing, trying to express their sentiments. This time she had been thinking of a white ribbon flapping in the wind, it had worked.

Fade grinned as she quickly slipped into the shadows, peeling of her costume and slipping into a light dress, it took seconds.
A light shower started to fall, minute droplets scattering people who ran for cover; she didn’t.It was interesting how small drops of water could make people run away, it reminded her that numbers count in the end not size.
Fade let the droplets fall on her drenching her to the bone as light showers do. She could only hope her dress wouldn’t become to see through.

A mesmerized man with a half bitten apple in hand was standing near to her still as a statue, she went closer and leaned so that her lips where almost touching his ears as she whispered: “The show is technically over”

As she leaned back another figure caught her eye, a man kneeling in the rain, ignoring her common sense she knelt down and looked into his eyes, mismatched blue and green gazing into glacier blue, she didn’t blink once. After some time she eased him into a standing position turned, bent and gathered her things.

The market [OPEN]

Postby Elliot Skythorn on May 14th, 2010, 1:02 pm

He tought his heart stopped and death itself has come to take him as he felt the touch of cold pale hands and so he stood up shakily still not believing that another human would touch him without fear, or rejection, even after looking into his eyes. His mind went blank for a moment only to come back in function after a random raindrop has crashed into his green eye. He firmed his stature slowly as he touched the pale goddess on the shoulder and asked slowly as he spoke silently: "Why did you touch me without fear even with seing my face? Why did you just stood there without running unlike everyone else? And how come the rain has not washed you away yet? He dropped his hood down slowly not caring anymore, for the show was over and the rain has scattered most of the people off anyway, and she was still here...nor a mistery, nor a dream, just pure white.....reality.

The market [OPEN]

Postby Fade on May 14th, 2010, 1:38 pm

Fade was startled by the touch on her shoulder and twitched instinctively but she regained her calm and turned as he dropped his hood down. She calmly replied in a soft but also hard tone:
“You haven’t given me a good reason to run away. You think yourself a freak? I have seen freaks and I know that they are lesser freaks then the so called normal people passing on the street.”
She cupped her hand watching the raindrops slide off her fingers and she laughed light-heartedly: rain made her happy. Then she said in a lower almost enigmatic tone:
“The rain will never have the power to wash me away.” She smiled a bitter smile, eyes far away.
Rain reminded Fade of her frozen ocean, she had seen the sea but in her dreams it was frozen with blazing pale blue ice, darker where you could see the rippling water beneath and cold. She could almost touch the stinging blue cracks in the naked ice and feel the soft white snow flakes.
She shivered at the thought.

The market [OPEN]

Postby Kamrynn Sleightyr on May 14th, 2010, 3:25 pm

A shiver went down Kamrynn's spine as the young woman leaned in close to whisper in his ear. His skin prickled and hair his hair stood on end -but it had little to do with the warm spring rain that fell lightly.

Kamrynn snapped out of his trance, and turned to regard the woman. She was in a light dress now, which the drenching rain had made to cling to her skin in a revealing manner, but Kamrynn wasn't the type to give a girl a once over.

He mouthed a response, "Oh, I see. You were amazing." He bowed slightly in appreciation, and the woman turned to help a man that was kneeling in the rain.

Kamrynn smiled, genuinely touched by the woman's kindness. There weren't many that would help a stranger. Graceful, beautiful and kind; there were too few people like that in the world. She was one of a kind.

Shaking his head, the knight took another bite of the apple that had been hanging forgotten in his hand. Only now did he notice the rain that was quickly soaking him to the bone. Time to go. He sighed, and left to visit another stall in the market.

The market [OPEN]

Postby Elliot Skythorn on May 14th, 2010, 5:25 pm

Elliot started to sense it again, that feeling of acceptance that was long lost and almost forgotten to him, so as good as he could tried to smile while reaching his left arm to the sky, almost as if he was waiting for the heaven to throw him something. As his hand found it`s way back down he spoke softly to the goddess:May i ask for your name lady? Oh and before you say anything, that was quite a show, thank you for that".
Being born strange and different never gave Elliot an easy time, so he dreamed of all the things he could not do or obtain. So now he was sincerely gratefull to the one in front of him for making at least one of those dreams reality. He bowed his head ready to leave as he already expected not to get a response, after all, ones like her do not meddle with mere humans, so a freak like him did not have much chance of making some real conversation. His eyes quickly rose up to the sky as he tried to avoid looking at her too much, for it was making him blush, and it was not a normal thing for him to feel embarassed, he thought he was over that one a long time ago. The rain, the rain is getting too strong now he tought as he took his cloak off and reached it out to the pale one. "It may not fit you, but it should give you some protection against it" he finnished his sentance pointing to the sky and still holding his hand out as he awaited for her to take or reject it.
