Arianthe had looked up at the hand on her shoulder and tried to shake it off violently, but it was not to be peturbed. In a split second, Valo had bent down and kissed her on the cheek, much to her surprise and indignation, before disappearing. Arianthe's first instinct was to react with anger that he would dare breach her personal space without warning but, after a moment, looking out of the window and watching him disappear in the midst of the rain, she calmed down. It was on the cheek. She had experienced far worse forms of harassment and he hadn't been wholly unpleasant, neither had been the kiss. She put a hand to her cheek then, after a moment, as though attempting to wipe away the memory, dragged the back of her hand along it a few of times. She was glad he had gone, but couldn't help looking forward to maybe seeing him again. He had talked to her... and she knew hardly anybody.
She returned to darning the socks.

Beauty, Truth and Love will prevail, if only we stayed still and happy long enough to let them...
