Touching the Clouds (Iosha)

Postby Red Daghul on November 22nd, 2012, 4:35 am

TimeStamp: 57th day of fall, 512 AV

Red moved through the corridors of the Reach having decided he better follow up with the infirmary as he had been instructed even though he would be two day late on following those orders. It wasn't entirely his fault his duties as a Endal had him extremely busy special because he had lost a couple days after his fight.

That thought seemed to bring back memories of the whole ordeal, and with the healing slash across his chest and the bruises he could prove that it wasn't a easy fight. The wound was still a bit sore, but they had said that it was a fairly clean cut. Of course he had been told all it would take was him not cleaning and taking care of it for the slash to go from healing to deadly infected. If they had not burned the thought into his head had not been enough Daghul made sure that he followed the orders to a point. Though the Eagle had not been able to get him back to the infirmary on time which Red felt a little bit of pride for a few hours ago now he wondered what they were going to say.

Reaching the door to the infirmary he walked in not entirely sure what they wanted him to do, and that wasn't because he had never been here before just not to get checked up on, and there was the whole not coming when asked to thing, but maybe he would get lucky and a new person would take a look. Hoping for the best he stood there waiting for someone to call for him.

Touching the Clouds (Iosha)

Postby Iosha on November 27th, 2012, 3:46 am

Looking at the noy injured head, Iosha picked up her bottle of rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth and gently started cleaning the gash on the side of the young ginger's head. When the damp cloth touches the gash, the boy instinctively jerked back from the sting. She stopped and gave him a sharp look of annoyance, and said softy, “Nevi stay still...I have to clean the wound before I put the stitches in otherwise it is going to get infected. Please sit still, so I can finish as quickly as possible.” The boy looked at her in horror when she mentioned stitches and asked softly, “Can you just pray it up to Rak'Keli, so I can go?” Iosha raised her eyebrow at the pray it up comment and she said to the boy, “Yes I guess I could, but I want to make sure you don't have a horrible disfiguring scar on your head. Your wound is deep, and I need to put the stitches in, so you don't scar. I am just trying to help your future prospects with the ladies you were trying so hard to impress.”

Thinking for a moment, Nevi gave her a wide smile, “I thought girls like scars. Maybe I should just keep it. Do you think it would make me look more manly Avora Iosha?” Iosha smirked and tried to hold back her laughter. She looked at him straight in the eyes and lied with a smile, “Some girls enjoy a man with scars, but only if they get them by doing something truly heroic. Since you fell off the statue and cracked your head on the cobble stone, I doubt any of the girls watching would think your accident as heroic. Sorry dear better luck next time.”

Nevi was a good kid, however, Iosha truly thought he was not long for this world since he been in the infirmary about once a week. Since she been in Wind Reach, from her observations of his stories, Nevi didn't really think to much before engaging in one his death defying stunts, and since she is new to the Infirmary, she got stuck with treating the young dare devil every time he got hurt. Honestly, she thought it a conspiracy between Aidara, Keah, and Micquel, but she figured if the boy is in a constant state of injury than she will always have a patient to treat. Iosha looked at him and smirked, “You know Nevi. I might make you a personal trauma kit, so I am always prepared to deal with your present and future injuries.” The boy looked at her and said with laugh, “Well I sort of feel honored Iosha... Do you like scars?”

Ignoring the yasi last question, she threw the dirty rag into the trash, and she walked over to Micquel. The older man turned around when she approached and asked her, “So how is Nevi doing today, Io?” Iosha gave him a flat look and decided to tease the old man, "The yasi is in a constant state of disrepair, Micquel, and since I am the new girl. I get stuck with trying to patch up our poor broken boy....”

The old man laughed out loud and said to her with a grin, “Being a tad melodramatic Iosha?” Iosha shakes her and says innocently, “No, I am just sharing with you a friendly observation, Micquel.” He smirked and asked in a serious tone, “OK back to business. What can I help you with Io?” Iosha nodded and said to him, “I am going to need you to hold Nevi head still while I do the stitches, and I going to need you to observe my stitches, so you can tell me if they are lopsided.” Micquel sat down his pen and said, “No problem Iosha. Let me wash my hands first, and I will be over in a second.” After washing her hands, Iosha walked over to the medical cabinet, and grabbed some clean gauze, medical thread, and a needle. She sat them down a metal tray next to her, and put her hand over the medical equipment and said a silent prayer to Rak'Keli to cleanse the equipment. She sees her gnosis mark start to glow blue, and the light from her hand envelopes the supplies. She walked over holding the tray, and she sees Micquel talking to the boy. She sat the tray down besides her on a table, and she picked up the thread and needle started threading the eye of the needle. Once she is finished with the needle, she walked over to Nevi and put her hand over his wound, and whispered a silent prayer to her Goddess to cleanse the wound. She noded to Micquel and said to the boy, “OK Nevi. I am not going to lie to you, so I just going to say it. This procedure will hurt, I just need you to stay still as a possible. Can you do that for me?” The yasi swallowed hard and nodded slowly to her.

Iosha saw Micquel put both his hands on the side of his head, and she picked up the needle and thread. Once she had her equipment, she took two her finger and pressed the two pieces of skin together. She picked up her needle and sticks the needle into his skin, and she brought the needle up under skin. She punctured through the bottom of his skin. Once the sharp part of the needle was through, she repeated the steps until the wound is fully closed. Once she is complete, she tied up the thread in a tight knot and cuts the thread. When she was finished with the thread, she puts back the thread and needles on the tray. She grabbed the rubbing alcohol and a small piece gauze, and she cleaned the newly closed wound. She took off about three feet of gauze, and started wrapping it around the boys head.

After finishing tightening her bandage, Iosha started tying the bandage in a knot. Knowing he wouldn't listen to her advice, Iosha decided to say to Nevi, “Nevi I know you will be back in my care in a week or so, but can you do me a favor if you hear the voice in your head again telling you. It would be fun to climb, jump or lift anything. Just ignore it for five days until this wound has some time to heal on its own, OK.” The boy nodded to her, jumped off the table, and said to her with a smile, “OK Avora Iosha, I will see you in a week. Bye Micquel!” With saying those few words the boy made his way to the door. Iosha turned to the older man, smiled and said softly, “Thank you.”

Miquel nodded and said with a smile, “Your stitches were a little lopsided girl, but I am sure the boy won't know the difference. You should pick up sowing to practice your needle work. I know it helped me when I first started here. OK Iosha I better leave you to your next patient.” When Iosha turned around, she saw Red standing at the door of the Infirmary with a large bloody gash down the middle of chest. She winced thinking of the creature or person who did this to him. From the bruises, she thought he must of got into fight with a large creature in the forest. She walked over to him and stopped in front of him. She looked closer at the wound, and she looked up from the wound and said with a wink, “I swear Endal Red. I starting to think your getting hurt on purpose just to have a excuse to see me. Come sit over here.” She gently put hand on his arm and lead him to the closest open table.

Touching the Clouds (Iosha)

Postby Red Daghul on November 27th, 2012, 4:25 am

A small boy almost whipped pass the Endal as he stood waiting for his turn for the healers, but he slowed down when he saw that it was a endal who stood before him. It was common for the young boys to watch the endal with dreams of one day becoming one of the mighty eagle riders. As the boy passed though a small grin crept over his face, and memories of being a young man just like him, eager to see the world to find adventure, and become a hero flooded through his mind.

It was only the soft voice of Iosha teasing him about only getting hurt to see her that he snapped out of his zoned out state. With a smile he threw back "well there's a idea" he followed her to where she was leading him to sit. The cut across his chest still hurt a bit, and of course the bandage on it had old blood. The Endal started to wonder how he looked, and thinking about all the pains he was having soreness and all he had to guess it was pretty banged up. Though that was the life of a endal.

Though his last fight had more to do with his sister, which he had dealt with as according to his training freeing his sister from the clutches of a man with ill intentions. Though in the end he had failed to get out of the fight unharmed, and of course the man had gotten away.

Taking a deep breath Red took the sit offered to him and looked back at Iosha "At least this time it wasn't a tray that hit me" then giving her a smile he tried to push off the thought of the pain of the wound being touched.

Touching the Clouds (Iosha)

Postby Iosha on November 28th, 2012, 5:27 am

When Red was seat on the table, she looked at the bloody wound. She crossed her arms and tapped her foot on the ground. She shook her head in mock disapproval and said teasingly to her friend, “Red....you gave me no choice!” She slamed her small fist into her other hand and said to him sternly, “When winter comes around, and I get paid. You and me are going to buy you a suit of armor, a helmet, and yes I am getting you shield too.” She pointed a finger at the Endal, gave him a half grin, and continued her friendly tongue lashing, “See Red I am a lazy healer, and if I can prevent a injury before it happens than I can continue shirking my daily responsibilities around here. Now I will clean your wound, but next time, I better see a shattered breast plate around your next injury.” After her mock tirade, she gave Red a wink, but they were interrupted by a distraught Micquel.

Micquel puts a hand on her shoulder and, squeezed tightly and he gave the Endal a polite apology, “I am completely sorry for Iosha's lack manners, and I completely understand if you want to punish her for her rudeness, but can you hear me out first Endal Red Daghul? Iosha just came to Wind Reach a month ago, and well...she is a outlander and new to Wind Reach, so she doesn't know the curtsies given to your noble caste. I hope you take this into consideration before you punish her.” During the conversation between Micquel and Red, Iosha just sat and listened trying to hold in a snicker. She decided to not help her case, and she added to Micquel apology, “Yes, I am a outsider and I am completely ignorant to the ways of the Inarta, but Micquel, I am only looking after out for Endal Red Daghul safety, and what is wrong giving advice to ensure the safety of our hunters. Honestly, I think I am doing Wind Reach a service by stating my concern for the caste that provides us with food. I should go right now to the Valintar and ask for a medal for being such a thoughtful healer.” Iosha gave Micquel a innocent smile hoping the older man doesn't blow a gasket at her. Clearly giving up on the whole situation, Micquel threw up both his hands and said to Red, “Do with her what you will, Endal Red! She is absolutely hopeless..” Micquel started walking away angrily muttering to himself in Nari about the ignorance of his Konti associate.

Touching the Clouds (Iosha)

Postby Red Daghul on November 28th, 2012, 3:20 pm

The very "stern" talking to by Red left in in a silly like mood, and he was about to laugh at here trying to offer to by him armor some how the thought of a fully armored man on a eagle was funny to him. Yet before he could react Micquel stepped up to defend the lass. Now seeing a chance to have some fun he set his face as stern as he could shooting a wink at Iosha to let her know he was playing along.

Micquel seemed worried that Red was going to punish Iosha which seemed to mean to Red that he had no idea that the two had met each other before, and that only seemed to make the situation that much more fun. On normal grounds he had to note that he wouldn't be so willing to play around, but Iosha seemed to pull that part of the Endal out.

Nodding his head as Micquel went on and on he even offered a small head nod as he seemed to thinking things over. Then Iosha then started to talk about how she was only thinking about keeping the hunters safe, and how she even needed a medal for it, and Micquel seemed to have it with her. Red almost laughed, but found the strength to hold it in.

As Micquel walked away speaking in the most odd way for a healer in Red's mind, but it just made him laugh quietly as not to disturb the man's grumbles.

Looking over to Iosha he gave her a stern look and opened his mouth "he is right" he was going to have to have some fun now "Im going to have to punish this disrespect" he hoped that she half believed him "tell you what I think that you should finish this wound and then as punishment I'm going to have to take you for the rest of the day" he said this time giving her a small grin, and a wink "we might even have to go have..." he paused as he took in a breath like what was going to say was going to be bad "fun" he almost whispered the word.

Studying Iosha he was looking for some kind of indictation that she was alright with his plan to get her out of work for a few hours to spend time with him, but this really wasn't his game and was a little unsure of himself so he added "that is if you want to?" the question seemed to make him feel a little better he didn't want Iosha to do anything she didn't want too.

Touching the Clouds (Iosha)

Postby Iosha on December 2nd, 2012, 7:05 am

Watching the old man leave, Iosha smirked to herself and called out to him, “Micquel could you help a fellow healer out and grab me some supplies for me?” She looked at Red trying her hardest not to bust out laughing, when he turned around, he was met with the most innocent look she could muster at the time. Unaffected by her charms, Micquel glared at her and said to her professionally, “Avora Iosha you have legs don't you? I suggest you use them.” He whirled around and storms to his office. Iosha was not giving up while she was ahead, so she decided to say to him, “Your going to tell Aidara on me aren't you, Micquel? By the way, another point for me since your going to go sulk now.” He responded to her with a slam of door to his office, and Iosha turned proudly around to Red with a evil giggle said to him, “By the way Red, Micquel and I been playing this game since I started my job in the Infirmary. Certainly, he is up by two points ahead, but I am slowly making a come back. I not sure if the other two healers know about our little game, but since he is being a sore loser now. I might find out sooner than later.”

Iosha made her way to supply closest and took out a few supplies. When she had her supplies, she sat the tray on the small table next to her. Looking at the wound, she noticed it is shallow. It must of just been a grazing slash across his chest. However, it looked like he just got back from a hunter because his chest is lightly covered in dirt. From what she heard it was a dry fall, so it made sense he is dirty. She looked at him and said, “I'll be right back I need to clean around the wound first.” She walked over to the large warm water basin, and she grabbed a wash cloth. She filled the metal basin with water and walked over back to Red.

When Iosha got back with the water, she saw Red giving her a stern look. She slowly sat the wash basin down on the floor, and she grabbed a stool. Iosha hadn't met many Endals other than Aidara, Sira, and Red, so she was kind of uneasy when he gave her a look of authority. She dipped her cloth into the warm water, and said without looking at him, “I know. I should act more professional, but sometimes you just have too. Have a little fun at work, or you will go crazy....” She looks up and sees the same look and she meekly says, “...What?” Suddenly, Iosha realized why he is a Endal. He started acting he was put out by her behavior, but than he cleverly turned it into a invitation to do something fun. Iosha thought to herself, “Well he is definitely smooth, but he will have to pay for playing with my emotions.” She looked up at Red with a smirk. She started gently scrubbing the dirt from around the wound on his chest. She looked down at her work and said to him without looking up, “Well I am off in hour, so I can serve my punishment than. I have to ask one question,Red. Do you roll around in dirt when you go hunting or does it naturally collect on you?” She gave him a innocent but playful smirk than she dipped the dirty wash cloth back into the water.

The way the two healer acted towards each other was inspiring, and in a way it reminded him of the closeness between Daghul and him, but at the same time it was different. It was nice to see two people interact in such a way even though it seemed the that older man was finding it a little frustrating today.

Another thing Red noted was how animated Iosha was from her smiles to her innocent looks. The Endal had only met a few of people from outside the Reach till just this season, and even rarer was his meeting of women from outside. Even more so one of such beauty. It was truly a pleasure though to get a chance to talk and meet such a person as Iosha.

Her reaction and willingness to spend time with him made his heart beat just a little bit faster not to mention the smirk she shot him. Then came the remark about the dirt on around his wound, and that brought a bit of embarrassment as he had not thought to clean the wound before coming. Of course, he also knew that he shouldn't have gone hunting till the wound had healed, but winter was coming swiftly, and with that a Endal's job became even more busy.

The Endal smiled and answered as Iosha scrubbed the dirt away sending a slight burning pain through his chest that he hid "hmmmm, I guess that the dirt is just plain attracted to me" he laughed a bit which seemed to irritate his chest even more. It was odd how much though he wanted to hide the pain from the white haired girl "Maybe next time I go hunting I will try my best to avoid the dirt" he smiled and then looked down at the wound to see how it was going.

Deciding that he rather keep her talking to avoid a awkward silence Red went with a question "how have you enjoyed the Reach so far?" he hadn't seen her since the party a few weeks ago, and he never had gotten the chance to see how much of the city she had seen.

Touching the Clouds (Iosha)

Postby Iosha on December 4th, 2012, 4:58 am

Wringing out the dirty water, Iosha frowned when she noticed the skin and the wound is starting to get inflamed. She continued washing the lower part of his chest. She looked at him with a smile when he questioned her about her stay at Wind Reach, “Well I have to say the people here are quite..whats the word..lively, and the Inartans definitely have a fire inside them somewhere. The only other Endals I met so far other than you is Sira and Aidara, but I have to say Kovac and Leaf are probably the most lively people. I met so far. Kiyono is a sweet heart. You should met her. She is shy, but I think she'll do fine once she finds some confidence. However, I have to say the best moment so far in Wind Reach was seeing your companion Wind Eagle land in the courtyard at the party. I will never forget that moment in my life. I never seen a Wind Eagle before till than.” Iosha heard the Wind Eagles are intelligent animals, so she hoped she could talk to the great bird. Maybe she could find out the name of her father's wind eagle.

When she saw the area around the wound is clean, she frowned some more at the redness of the injury. She looked up at her friend with a serious look in her eyes, “Red, I know you only known me for a few weeks now, but as a friend and a doctor whenever you get injured during a hunting accident or whatever. You need to do first aid quickly, so it doesn't get infected. Come with me Red.” She grabbed his hand and pulled him off the table, and brought him to the full length mirror in the clinic. When she let go of his hand and made him face the mirror. She lite a lantern by the mirror. She stood beside him and said to him, “I am not sure what happened to you out there, but when I look at your injury in the mirror. I see your body is starting fight the first signs of a infection. I can deal with this will my gnosis mark since it is minor infection, but if you waited any longer, you could have a major medical problem on your and my hands. I guess I am telling you this Red because if your caught in the wilderness alone with no doctor to help you. You could have died in a matter of days.” She looked at it some more and tilted her head, “Well maybe a week and a half, so please for my sanity take the time to treat your wounds quickly.” Iosha gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder and said softly, “Lets head back to the table, get you fixed up, so you can take a bath, and I can serve my punishment.”

The Endal smiled at the commit of the fire of his people, for he couldn't agree more with that statement his people were a fiery type, and what could he say it suited them well. Though he was proud at that statement, yes, the one that followed about Daghul made him most proud. That Bird was one of Red, if not the most, special friend the Endal had. No one else in the Reach was as close to him as Daghul, and he always found himself swelling with pride at when people talked about his bondmate.

"I'm glad you have enjoyed it here it really is a special place" he said then referring to her commit about Daghul "That might have just made my day, and I'm sure it will make Daghul's..." he grinned added "I think you should tell him in person later though, Im sure he would love to meet you" then he noticed her studying his wound.

Then next thing he knew he was being led to a mirror, and he felt the coming of some reprimanding about keeping his wound clean. Instead of a harsh lashing, or even a fake playful lashing Red was surprised to find Iosha asking him to in his own words "take care of himself" but she did it in a way he was most unused too. To be honest with himself it was kinda nice to know he had a friend who cared about him, and he found himself feeling like he had known Iosha longer then he really had. Before he could answer she was back to her playful self and telling him to head back to the table so she could finish up.

The Endal was speechless, and only smiled and nodded as he headed back towards the table, but before he reached it he suddenly found his playfulness as well "I betcha I could have made it two weeks" throwing in a playful smile and wink he finished it with "but I will do my best to deal with it faster I guess" and he returned to his seat. This day was turning out to be much more fun then he had thought in the moments just before he entered the room... and so much more fun to be had.

Touching the Clouds (Iosha)

Postby Iosha on December 13th, 2012, 4:43 am

As Iosha lead Red from the mirror back to the table, she couldn't help herself from smiling when Red told her, she should tell Daghul herself what she just said to Red. Iosha looked at him for a moment than motioned him to sit on the table. She decideed to ask a embarrassing question, “It will be a honor to meet Daghul, Red. Honestly, I thought the intelligence of wind eagles were just myth. Does he talk? How would I know if he understood me?” Flushing with embarrassment, she took a warm rag and started cleaning his chest and thought to herself, “Rak'Keli! I must sound so ignorant to him right now.” She started focusing on her work once the area around the wound is cleaned of dirt. She picked up another clean cloth and a jar a rubbing alcohol. She opened the cork and gently poured the contents on to the rag. She looked up with a evil grin on her face and said teasingly, “This will sting Red. I promise. I won't laugh at you if you start to cry.” She walked over to him and started gently dabbing the damp cloth on his wound. Seeing him flinch, she felt sorry for him since the wound was quite large. Looking closer at the wound, Iosha could noticed the wound was not bleeding, so it wasn't too deep; however, the red puffiness of the tissue around the slash concerns her.

Iosha put down the cloth and the bottle on the table behind her. She heard Red trying to convince her that he could of lasted two weeks with the infection. She just gave him a slow nod and laughed when he gives her a wink and a playful. She was going to respond with a snappy comeback, but than he finished with assurance that he will stay on top of his injury. She gave him a little half smile and said nonchalantly, “See Red if everyone listened to my words of wisdom, the world would be much happier place.” She gave a quick tap on the shoulder and said with a smirk, “At least I have one follower. Now I just need a million more and I will be set.” Deciding to let her head deflate, she closed her eyes and said two quick prayers to herself in Kontinese, “Please Rak'Keli cleanse my hands, so they can be used as a instruments of healing, and please help me remove the impurities and infection from his wound, so he can continue to go out and catch something tasty.”

Realizing she just said something inappropriate to her goddess, she turned red for a moment and hopes her goddess has a sense of humor. Iosha opened her eyes, and she saw her gnosis mark and her hands started to glow blue. She smiled at Red, puts a small hand on the top part of his wound, and she slowly slid her hand down the wound. She noticed once the hand passes over a spot the redness starts to fade back to his normal color. Also she noticed the shallow wound start to close. Once she is finished closing the wound, she looked the wound over to seeif she missed anything. When she is finished, she gave him smirked and said playfully, “OK you can put your shirt back on, I am done now.” She figures she could end her treatment with a bad joke. Hopefully, his funny bone isn't broken too."

OOCWhen I was writing this post, I inwardly groaned at my two bad jokes. :retard:
