Artifex Faithforger Vizerian

Basic Information:
Race: Isur.
Birthday & Age: 13th Spring, 463AV. 49 Years Old.
Gender: Male.
Languages:
Fluent: Isur.
Basic: Common.
Poor: Nari.

Physical Description:
Height: 4’4”.
Weight: 225 pounds.
Hair Color: Brown, with Streaks of Black.
Eye Color: Brown.
Skin Tone: Light Blue, with Silver Veins.
(Left) Arm Color: Cobalt Blue.

Description: Artifex stands at a reasonable height; not too tall and not too short. He has thick muscular arms from years of working the forge, and hammering away at metal since the days of his youth. His hair is a rich earthy brown with streaks of black that highlight it like the stripes of a predatory cat, and his hair is otherwise usually kept in very short spikes (so as not to interfere with his work). His eyes are a similar earthy brown with an outer rim of black. His face appears like that of any other Isur without any other remarkable features. The silver veins run across his body, and create an interesting contrast when they crisscross his left arm (which is a deep Cobalt Blue).

Character Concept:
Personality: Artifex is a jolly fellow (despite people’s view of Isur demeanor). He is never too prideful, but often boasts about his accomplishments. He is friendly to those whom he trusts and calls close friends. He is adamant in his religious views, as was part of his upbringing in his family, and that of his clan (Vizerian). He believes that it is only through exemplification of faith and craft that he gain rise in the world, and make a difference. Artifex is very social, and loves to drink when the opportunity arises. He is always eager to learn more about his chosen crafts, and about ways to honor Izurdin. He is fiercely loyal to those who are loyal and friend to him.

Character History:
Artifex’s past was simple. He was raised amidst a loving family within Vizerian Citadel. From an early age he was taught the many tenants of faith in Izurdin, and schooled in the art of blacksmithing. Once he reached a reasonable age and his skill in blacksmithing had improved to a proper level, he chose to specialize in armorsmithing. Why he had chosen such despite his love for the designing of weapons and architecture that had never been built was because he wanted to build things that would defend his people, and keep them from harm.

During his life he had never journeyed beyond the city of Sultros or from his clan’s citadel, so he had a limited understanding of the people who lived beyond; except for one time. During his youth Artifex had journeyed with his father to Sultros Citadel to see to some dealings he had with a deliver of wears for the Hammer. While his father chatted with them he had run off and journeyed to the Courtyard, where merchants were set-up. He watched their comings and goings and the humans-among others-were all seemingly kind-hearted souls from what he could see. His father later heard the retelling of this incident from Artifex, to which he told him that “Son, there will always be wicked souls amongst a people. You however must always strive to find the good in a people, for not all souls are wicked, and many are often misunderstood. However always keep a wary eye, for some folk are not entirely what they seem; for good or for worse”. This lesson had always stuck with Artifex, and he held it dear to his heart. At the same time Artifex developed a sense of wanderlust. He wanted to see the world someday, and to spread the word of Izurdin and his craft. He wanted to explore the area around his home, the lost clans, like any youth would. It birthed a curiosity within Artifex that he would have forever more.

One day-during 492AV-an event occurred which changed Artifex’s usual jovial exuberance. Artifex was working at a forge when he was told by someone from his clan that his parents had died during a cave in. Everything collapsed for a time, and Artifex adopted a somber attitude. However after some time and help from his clan, he got back onto his feet. He prayed to Izurdin with a fervor stoked anew. He never had lost faith, simply the way for a time. Other than a some money that had been left to him there was nothing that his parents had left behind, save for the heirloom he had been given while young.

However despite the tragedy he still had his friends and clansmen. He was still jovial but a little less so than before. Time, patience, and faith would see him through the future, as it had during his time of grief. It forged Artifex into who he is. He was determined thus to do all he could to rise in skill of craft, and join the priesthood and rise through the ranks of Izurdin until he honored Izurdin with all of his being.
