"You seriously under estimate Grazer and I." He said patting the stallions side. "But yes, I understand."

He said as he began to follow her down the slope, keeping his hands bundled in his pockets for warmth. Grazer followed behind him silently as they walked. sly as they walked down th Unlike Brighid, Jason wasn't able to walk on the snow like she was, every once in a while he would stumble because of sinking into the snow

"When you said "I've never been caught" Does that mean you're an outlaw or something?" He asked her curiously as they walked down the slope, with a glance around he still could not see any game

"Of course not...." She snapped growling softly. She kept her eyes scanning the area watching for any signs of life.

"You won't find much game in these parts, this is frozen land where not many dare to venture." She shrugged as if he should have known, as they reached the bottom of the icy slope she swung into the saddle. Muka sighed in relief that they would be moving, she nickered.

"When I said I have never been captured, I meant I have never been taken by slavers. I am always on the move, never staying in one place for too long. It is how I have survived......." As she spoke her face became a mask. Her eyes narrowed and she had to take a deep calming breath.

Life is a challenge we all face, but do we do it alone or with a companion? The choice is yours. Fight. Survive. Hunt, or be hunted. It is all we can do, in truth we already have our paths chosen for us. Be it by the Fates, or something else entirely.

"You never know what you'll find." Jason said as he walked, he once again sunk into a deep spot of snow and cursed under his breath. He needed to figure out how to stop from doing that, maybe he'd ask her later.

"Oh." he said giving a chuckle at her last laugh, he wasn't going to tell her he was a hired crook, he probably never would. "Sorry for assuming that, you never know who'll you run into when you travel."

"Grazer and I had a run in with some slavers not to long ago." he said shrugging a bit. "It got a bit messy." he said thinking back on it. He'd probably end up having to replace some arrows soon.

She tensed as he spoke of the slavers, Muka sensed her unease and stiffened. She quickly scanned the area, searching the treeline above them and the frozen tundra ahead of them. They were miles away from the city and the only two being alive within miles in any direction.

"Damn it, the last thing I need is to run into slavers...." She growled under her breath and led Muka so she was standing beside the male. Brighid glanced down at him eyes wary and cautious.

"Did they follow you? Were you able to conceal your tracks?" She asked her hands gripping the reins causing her already pale hands to go even paler with the force of her grip.

Jason saw how she had stiffened and stopped to watch her. "Well it was a few days ago." he said and glanced at Grazer as she came beside him. He looked at her for a few seconds when she questioned him.

"To your first question, both of them are either long gone or dead. I managed to get them with an arrow each, once I managed to get back to Grazer and my bow." he paused as he thought.

"And even if they didn't-" he stopped short as a gust of wind blew harder than before, annoyed he brushed his hair from his eyes and looked at her again.

"And even if they didn't die, the snowfall covered my tracks enough to keep them from following me. And as a precaution, I doubled back on my path twice." he told her. He may not know where he was, but he knew enough not to let others follow him, especially those that he didn't want to.

She breathed a small sigh of relief, the words gave her some resemblance of comfort. She watched the male her mind sifting through information, and details. She shook her head and sighed.

"You are human, and not very quiet. I found you with no problems, and if I was going to kill you you would be dead. I suggest you be more careful, especially around here." She shrugged and pulled on the reins slightly. Muka backed up and turned toward the east, she gave a soft cluck of her tongue. When the noise reached Muka's ears she started to walk through the snow at a slow steady pace waiting for the others to catch up.

As she walked her mind wandered. Half of it was on the the issue at hand while the other half was trying to make sense of the gnawing sensation at the back of her mind. She could never understand the sensation that drove her on, made her continue. Only that she was always moving forward searching for something.

He did'nt know whether or not to take that as an insult or not. So he just nodded to her not wanting to start anything. "I'll do my best." he said quietly as he looked to see if Grazer was following him, he was still close behind him, he pat his nose gently then continued to follow her.

"Sorry for being so blunt about this." he stopped as he thought of how he could word his question. "What race are you?" he asked out right, he couldnt think of any way to ask it other than that, hopefully she didn't take it the wrong way.

She stiffened at his question but sighed. She turned to look at him her hood falling from her face.

"It should be obvious. I am Kelvic......" She shrugged and offered a small smile. Although it was icy and cold.

She shivered and tried to reign in the instincts that gnawed at her, she was hungry. The urge to hunt was rising to the front of her mind. She growled softly and turned away. The wind picked up and cut through her hair and cloak.

He gave a small smile back, though it was'nt really a full smile. "I don't really know many races, never stayed long enough to learn of them." he said shrugging.

"Huh?" he wondered aloud as Grazer gave his back a push, he turned around and looked at him. Grazer sniffed and stamped the ground, Jason stood there for a few seconds as he tried to figure out what he wanted.

"Oh, yeah, sorry buddy, forgot." he said patting his neck as he walked back to his saddle bags. After a few seconds of digging through his saddlebags, he pulled out an apple from his food rations. After securely latching the saddle bag shut again he walked in front of Grazer and held the apple out, Grazer took it happily munching down on it. Jason pat his neck then looked up at Brighid and gave a small shrug.

"Think we can make town before nightfall?" he asked looking up at the sky as the wind and snow became worse.

She scoffed, and clutched the reins. She backed up her mare so she was closer to the bottom of the slope they had come down. She dismounted and reached into her saddle bag pulling out a small bag of grain. She then wandered around to Muka's head and offered her some. The mare ate it greedily soon consuming all of it. She then nuzzled Brighid wanting more.

"Sorry, that was the last of it......"She spoke lovingly to the mare and raised a hand to rub her forehead gently. Then she turned to look at the male, her eyes narrowed.

"Kelvic are animals that can shift into a human, we have no true homeland but instead travel." She spoke softly, her voice a bare whisper blending with the wind.
