Taloba, home to the Myrians, is the thriving core of Falyndar. Inhabited by a fierce and savage tribe where blood sacrifices are normal and a way of life, they are untamed and proud of it. Warlike, and with their numbers growing, the Myrians are set on reclaiming what is rightfully theirs. [Lore]

Den of Exiles

The Den of Exiles is one of the only lodging options in Taloba for non-Myrians. Believe it or not it's proprietor, Riaka, was the one to give it it's name, and she has a strange sense of pride for the place.

The set of ten lodges that make up The Den are located on the outskirts of Taloba, and are actually rather difficult to find for there are no clear cut paths to reach the lodges, nor are any inhabitants of the city really keen on informing strangers of where it is located. The Den has a very intense stigma surrounding it, not only is it a place for strangers of the city to stay, but also one of the only establishments that will accept a Myrian who has been disgraced enough that for whatever reason they are unable to live in the long houses of their clan. Sometimes the residents are under their own self imposed exile, but for whatever reason the Myrian inhabitants of the lodges at The Den are generally recovering from a traumatic experience that has lost them their pride and honor.

Whatever reason brought Riaka to be the manager and female in charge of The Den, it remains a mystery. The details that people will discuss are the fact that she has the tattoos that mark her as having possessed a Myrian tiger, yet she no longer commands such a fierce beast. She is taciturn, impatient, and moody, and is exceedingly rude and ill tempered to her guests. Surprisingly, these traits lead to Riaka having little to no real business strategy when running her establishment and seems to care less that some of her potential residents forsake the Den for the more amiable Akalak of Durak's Tavern. If they can't handle it then petch those petching shyke monkeys to Dira's embrace. That being said, those individuals that seem to be interested in more long term residencies and appreciate privacy tend to put up with Riaka and her mannerisms.

Riaka has no clan name, no friends to speak of, yet is extremely prideful of her place of business, and is just as faithful to her Goddess Queen as any of her Myrian compatriots.

Rates
It costs a paltry 80 GM to reside in the Den for a season, but this cheap cost comes with a series of duties. No one cleans your room, and while food is cooked it is up to the residents to hunt and gather it. This is usually organized in the form of a roster of assigned days that certain individuals have to go out and hunt, but once again it is up to the residents to organize themselves this way.
