Agathon had woken up feeling quite energetic that day. He quickly stood up, put his clothes on and run out enthusiastically. It was sometime in the afternoon, the sun was high up in the sky, throwing his light at every little corner of the city. Agathon took his usual route through the small alleys of the slams which ended up in the Seaside Market. He moved hastily, but not any less stealthily than he always did. He tried to avoid as many people's eyes as possible, as he was just a shadow in Sunberth.

It wasn't long before he made it to the Seaside market. He took a deep breath. The scent of ocean filled up his lungs. The sound of waves hitting the docks was like music in his ears. Salesmen shouting from everywhere, people walking towards every direction. The seaside market was the best place to practice larceny at the time of the day.

Now all he had to do was to choose the right victim. He walked around for a while, but his efforts were in vain. He couldn't quite decide which one would be his target. Having searched for about half an hour, he decided to go back in the alleys, walk for a while and come back to the seaside market a bit later.

He decided to go to the orphanage, pay a visit to the little kids and maybe give them a few silver mizas. Just outside, a few little kids were playing soccer. He recognized one of them, he was sure that he had given the little guy a few copper mizas before. He was about 12 years old, had short blonde hair, was short for his age and extremely thin. ''Come here...Little guy.'' he said and sat down on his right foot, in order to match the kid's height. Agathon's memory did not betray him, since the little kid went to him hastily, something that wouldn't have happened, especially in Sunberth, if he hadn't given him money before. ''What's your...name.'' asked Agathon. ''My name's Ilodan. '' replied the little kid.Well, Ilodan, this is...For you.'' he said as he took out 3 silver mizas. ''You should get..something to eat. You're..really skinny, you know?''
''Thank you sir!''

Things like this made Agathon incredibly happy. He could see the joy in their little eyes when he gave them money. He remembered how much he wished that he was living in a good house, with good parents, not having to run in the streets stealing or begging for money when he was younger. ''Be a good kid now, Ilodan...'' he said slowly as he stood up.
Ilodan nodded and run back to his friends. Agathon started moving back towards the Seaside market, hoping to find a proper victim this time.

He hadn't gotten far away when he heard an old man shouting. ''Tell me right now! What'd he give ya!''. Agathon turned around to see what was going on. An old man had grabbed Ilodan by the arm and was demanding to know what Agathon had given him. It was obvious that he was just trying to loot them little kid from the money that he had been given. Agathon became furious. He couldn't believe the nerve the old man had. He looked weak, maybe even sick. He had no chance versus Agathon, even in hand to hand combat, but Agathon was a shadow. He wouldn't go face on.

He turned left, and went around the alley, so that he could sneak up behind him. He moved low and slow, making sure that the old man wouldn't see him. The old man kept on shouting ''Tell me right now or else I'll beat ya up!'' Agathon got as close as possible, a little bit than a meter away. He then stood up and poked the old guy on the back. ''What is it?!'' shouted the old man as he turned around. All he saw was a fist flying towards his face before he fell down on the ground unconscious.
''Feel free..to take whatever he has...in his pockets.'' said Agathon to the little kids and then run away as fast as he could and disappeared in some small alleys.

That was one of the few times that he had used violence and he felt really proud about it. Not because he hit the old guy, but because he gave him what he deserved. He was a thief, but only because he was forced to be, not because he wanted to. And like that, he started walking back to the Seaside Market with a big smile on his face.

The sun was about to set in a while and people would start going back to their homes. He had to act as fast as he could. He was walking on a fast paste, dodging people walking on the opposite direction. And that's when he found his ideal target. A tall, muscular man, dressed finely but with the face and the attitude of a crook. He hadn't seen him before and he didn't quite look like he was from Sunberth. Whats more he looked completely ignorant, like he didn't know what the situation in Sunberth was like. He followed him for a couple of minutes from a safe distance and waited for his chance to strike.

The man soon stared talking to an armor merchant. He apparently wanted to buy a breastplate from there. He had obviously not heard any rumors about Sunberth's merchants, and how armors sold in the Seaside Market can break down a few days after purchase. Well, that was his own fault. Agathon approached him and slowly put his hand in the man's pocket. Unfortunately, he wasn't listening to the conversation and had not heard that the man had decided to buy the breastplate. He reached for his pocket while Agathon's hand was still in! Agathon quickly took his hand out, grabbing everything he could. The man, of course, understood that somebody had put his hand in his pocket and turned around immediately, only to see Agathon starring at his back. You! Give me my stuff back right now! shouted the man as his hand reached to grab Agathon's shoulder to hold him where he was. But he was not planning to get caught, not like this.

He grabbed a person that was walking towards them and threw him on the man, which disoriented him for a few seconds. Agathon started running as fast as he could. All he had to do was enter an alley, after that he would be safe. But the man was running behind him and was faster than Agathon. There were people everywhere, making it hard to run and dodge them at the same time. Agathon fell on a couple of people and the furious man was catching up to him. He had to do something and he had to do it fast. The man was not like the old guy from before, he looked very strong and at the moment, he was very, very mad. Agathon did once again the same thing that he did before. While he was running he grabbed and pushed a person towards the man. The man, even though bigger and faster, did not have as much stamina as Agathon did and after the second person hit him he started slowing down. Agathon found a small alley that he knew very well and run towards it.

After running mindlessly for a few more minutes in small alleys, he finally got too tired and decided to stop. If the man was still chasing him, he deserved to beat him up and take every single thing he had on him. He sat down and rested for a couple of minutes, praying that the man would not jump out of the corner with a sword in his hands. Luckily, that did not happen. The moon had taken over at that point and the man would be a fool to enter Sunberth's dark alleys without knowing where he was going. But it was not safe for Agathon to sit there for long either. He stood up, thanked the gods for not letting him get caught and then started walking to his house. It was a very tiring day, but full of delights nevertheless.
Much more happiness is to be found in the world than gloomy eyes discover.

Additional Notes :
This was pretty good, Ag, and I do like your character's roguish personality, but you need to expand on things much more. There was way too much going on for such a short thread, and if you want to build up your abilities, you'll have to depict and narrate what you do much more. You did enough this time, but next time... more detail.

On the whole, though, I liked this. And don't leave it so open-ended next time. Have something like a definite ending, as in, you KNOW that big bugger won't come round the corner to castrate you. ;-)
