A dangerous shift

88th night of Winter 512 A.V

Sevris and Tyranus were scheduled to patrol the Merchants ring this week. The two became regulars and were advancing quite well among the guards. Sevris aspiring to become Captain of the Guard in due time. He just needed a good record, and some whispers from the Ebonstryfe. He would be moving along nicely and he would be able to fight whenever he wanted.

But the pace of anything exciting happening had dwindled after the Rising Dawn attack. Even the criminals seemed to have abated usual plans. So it was day on the job for the moment.

But the two aspiring Stryfe members had to make due. As they crossed a corner, getting close the store The Defiled Blade, they saw them. It looked like there were some thieves active and were robbing The Defiled Blade. "It looks like we found ourselves something to entertain ourselves."

"Hell yea lets get them," replied an ecstatic Sevris. They took out there weapons and charged forward slowly. Tyranus sporting a short sword led forward, as Sevris covered his back with his Double-bladed sword Using the shadows to their advantage. But it looked as if the lookout man was to busy with the weapons they were stealing.

Before the man noticed that they were coming, they were upon him. Tyranus threw his blade into his chest, and Sevris twisted around and beheaded him with a single swing of his sword. The rest of the thieves now noticed that they were under attack and sent word to leave.

They scattered outside and surrounded the two guardsmen. They abandoned the packages they were carrying that had swords, maces, daggers and all sorts in it. They were all armed, all with swords. It was four against two. Sevris and Tyranus stood together and went into a battle stance. They could take them.

One of the thieves charged forward, Tyranus's blade whipped forward and blocked an incoming attack and pushed the man backwards with a forceful kick. The rest joined in, attempting to overwhelm them with numbers. But Stryfe members had been trained for these situations.

Sevris used the advantage of the Double-Blade for this instance, it was ideal in using to fight multiple enemies. Two came for him and he used the space to dive forward and counter both downward slashes, he pushed them back. Tyranus dispatched another thief with a blade to the neck. Sevris swung at one of them and kept a combo of attacks at him. Finally catching him in a backwards stab straight into the abdomen.

The other tried attacked with new vigor and swung hard at Sevris for killing his comrade, Sevris dodged it and sliced his chest in half with the forefront of his blade. They both fell to the ground dead. The last one was no warrior and only had a weapon for show, as Tyranus captured him easily by disarming him.

"What do you want to do with him Sevris?" Tyranus asked with bloodlust in his eyes.

"Do with him however you want," Sevris replied.

He smirked and broke the mans neck with his bare hands. "Well now that's a job well done. Lets claim the fight was ours, leave them there. No one will morn them."

"Damn right. Let's grab a beer. I'm tired." Sevris took all the money off of the thieves. Altogether it wasn't a bad loot. They had about 200 gold mizas. Sevris would hold on to the money.
