Season of Winter, Day 88, 512 AV Two weeks had gone by since Caweyre had passed through the gates of Syliras. In that time Mistress Sahfri had kept him so busy he'd had little time to explore the city. Unbeknownst to him, his ceaseless work had most likely kept him out of trouble, and saved him from more than more than one con artist. He enjoyed his days, and had become attached to Sahfri. She reminded him of his mother. She seemed so in control, so focused. He envied that in her. He most often sang quietly as he worked, his gentle voice filled the back room of the shop with beautiful Charodan folk songs, and earned him a warm smile from the occasional customer who caught a glimpse of him through the door. With patient study of the shop's manuals he had enforced some small degree of order to the store room, but each new delivery quickly subsumed his work underneath a pile of dirty, smelly, potion components. Still, the busier he stayed the less he worried. He had hardly dreamed since he came to the city, and doubt pressed ever more firmly upon his mind. Had he been led here for no other purpose than to play assistant to a pharmacist? The shrill voice of Sahfri shook him from his meditations. He'd drifted away again, and had stopped working for more than a few minutes. He returned to his task with re-doubled vigor, unwilling to disappoint the Eypharian who had taken a chance on him. His webbed fingers were sore, and his eyes were so dry that they constantly nagged him. Still, for some reason, he'd never felt better than he did in this place, at this moment. ((OOC note: The description of Sahfri in the location guide indicates she has at least one set of extra arms. I assume that means she's an Eypharian. Apologies if I'm mistaken.))

Season of Winter, Day 89, 512 AV Today was the first day that Caweyre had been left in charge of the front end of the shop. Mistress Sahfri had been called away on some sort of business, and no one else was available. She insisted he wear a shirt for this duty, and his torso felt uncomfortable covered in fabric. Most of the customers spent more time ogling him than browsing the store's shelves. Evidently, Charodans were quite a rare sight to the folk of the city. He did his best to answer their ceaseless barrage of ill-informed questions, and was frustrated to discover just how little he knew about his own people's place in the world. He also found out just how little he knew about potion making. Most of the customers with complicated questions had to be asked to return another day. Still, nothing got broken or stolen by the time Sahfri returned. He had taken notes with the names of customers that would be returning on the morrow. Caweyre was happy to be in the back room again, putting away the deliveries by the time the day was over.

Season of Winter Day 92, 512 AV One more day until spring, and the apothecary was -very- busy. Thankfully, Caweyre had settled into the swing of things, and was allowed to watch the front of the store for a portion of his shift, and work in the back for the remainder. He was almost comfortable in a shirt at this point. A very large order of insects had arrived yesterday, and not realizing what was inside Caweyre had opened it. He had stayed late into the night collecting the Taloban beetles, and stashing them in jars. Today, he was tired, and moved too sluggishly to keep up with the demands of his work. Sahfri was frustrated with him, but willing to put up with it. Either way, Caweyre was well punished. He spent most of his time in the back room, carefully extracting glands from the hindquarters of beetles according to the instructions in an ancient journal. He took a few moments to wonder hold old Jahfri was, but dismissed it. Even in Charbosi it was rude to ask a woman her age. As his day came to a close, he pondered the events that had come to reshape his life over the past thirty days, and gave quiet thanks to the heavens for delivering him safely here. He fed the remains of the beetles to the sea when he went to the docks for his daily swim.

Mizahar had a season change March 1st 2013. You cannot post a Winter Thread on March 1st because it has become spring! So this thread needs to be timestamped Spring instead of Winter to fit within the confines of our game rules! That also means you cannot collect a seasonal wage for Winter since you have no job threads in Winter. This thread will work very well for Spring wages though!

Please read Timestamping and Calendar Wiki lore pages carefully. I know you are new to the game, but I do not want you getting off on the wrong foot by skirting the rules! Everyone follows the same rules unless there are drastic circumstances (fluid time locks, etc) where a player is not able to post and is allowed to post retroactively due to a situation a moderator put them in.

ooc: i don't think your forum is right for me.

i followed a story teller's instructions from a private message when i made these threads. i got special permission to make the posts after the season change, and everything.

and when he told me they needed three posts each, i spent another couple hours hammering those out.
