Near Matthews Bay
Midnight
It was dark. The type of darkness that seemed to swell around you, suffocating you, choking the life out of you as it envelopes you into an ebony abyss. Shadows in the streets were hidden, lurking, watching. But the Healer did not notice, for the light of Leth was shining down upon the darkness. Illuminating the choking darkness that surrounded her, that seemed to live inside her. The moon in the star sprinkled sky looked like the swollen womb that she would soon have herself. This brought a heavy sigh from the Healer, as she walked on, further away from the buildings, further away from the citizens of Zeltiva. Slowly, running away from it all, slowly walking and leaving it all behind.
There was a part of her that wish she could just run, leave it all behind her. There was too much going on, things that did not make sense, feelings that confused her. She always blamed it on the pregnancy, and maybe it was, or maybe she was beginning to change through all the chaos she had experienced during the Winter Season, and what was beginning to stir in the Spring Season. The Healer would not run though, she would not leave her problems behind her. She was too stubborn, strong, too full of confidence to not face her problems. Sure it seemed like the easiest way out was to run away, but the truth of the matter was that she needed to face. Deep inside she knew she needed to face all her problems, even though at times she did not want to admit that to herself.
The Healer was so full of emotions that seemed to rage inside her like the storm on the seas. Bringing large tidal waves, crashing upon the shore, crashing upon her soul. Drowning her slowly, slowly taking her breath, slowly taking her sanity with the frenzied ebb and flow. She sought out solace, a place to be alone, to reflect on these emotions, and to seek out guidance from Leth. Slowly her small feet pattered on the ground, her heart pushing her feet forward, onward to her destination. There she found the place she was seeking. So full of good memories as well as bad ones, but it was still a place of solace. Far enough away from the pesky hub-bub of the city, from the peering eyes of individuals.
She sat upon a rock, crusted with the salt from the sea, as she peered out into the beckoning Spring waters of Lavikus domain. The Kelvic wanted so bad to change into her dolphin form, to feel the rush of water gliding by her as she swam with a furious need to wash away the turmoil. But this could not be done, it was dangerous for a pregnant Kelvic to shift, so she had to stay in her human form.
Nai’a looked up at the sky from her rocky pedestal, the small tears that had form in her eyes, pooled together and started to slid down her soft-rubbery skin, sparking to life by the light of the moon, looking like falling stars upon her flesh. So tired of this pain.. Nai’a spoke softly to the moon.So tired of feeling this.. The healer inhaled a deep breath, as she leaned back and searched the sky for her answers. She knew she was changing, pregnancy was a big change, but with this change she felt somewhat closer to the God Leth, for he too had to undergo a change, to be redeemed for his previous deeds. The healer, leaned back further, until she was almost lying on the hard surface of the rocks, bathing in the silver aura of Leth.
Oh, Leth let your light shine in my soul, bringing with it your wisdom. Cleanse me from this turmoil that plagues me. Weave your threads of wisdom this night, I ask of you, to ease my troubled soul. May your light empower me, rejuvenate me, may it guide me in the darkness so I do not trip. Your will is mine.
Nai’a spoke the words to Leth aloud, in a soothing and calm voice, only choked up by the occasional tear. She did not expect the feeling of relief talking to the God had brought within. The calmness that she felt inside, like the calm cooling light that he radiated. She enjoyed these times she spent in the moonlight with the God, for the raging waves of turmoil began to quell once in his light.
Nai’a stayed on that hard, rock surface for most of the night, lying under the protection of Leth as she reflected more on the turmoil of emotions that she felt inside. Whether or not she would be a good mother, how she felt about Valo, how he felt about her, her new bondmate, attending classes at the university, her job at the infirmary, the lives she could not save during the Winter season, it all weighed her down. The weight she carried was bringing her to her knees, and this time with Leth helped ease that weight, stopped the suffocating feeling she endured, he made it easier to breath again.
