Tagging Along

Setting off from Alvadas was a wise decision Luradin mused as he worked his way through the cool waters of the deeper Suvan. He'd come quite a distance and there was a sort of numbness to his legs - which is why he was using his abdominal muscles to work his body as a giant paddle, he'd been taught to do this on long journeys. The large, unblinking eyes were a great way to see down here but he was still second guessing at some of the obstacles - he concluded that he was in the gut of the Suvan, a rather dangerous place. As he narrowly darted around a jut of rock he decided it smart to un-sheath his kris bladed dagger and hold it close to his waste, remaining steam lined.

After stopping his travel for the day an hour early, he decided to make-up the time the day after when it would be safer to travel. Swimming around the area he'd come to a stop in, he was scanning the rocks and the floor to look for some sort of shelter - not that it was needed for temperature, just easier to hide in. Finding a flat looking rock, he swam over to it and found that a small hole had been eroded into it. Pawing with his webbed hands at the sand at the base of it and that had gathered in the hole opened it up to be roughly big enough to fit his lithe frame. He dug deeper into the sand and made it just big enough for him to slide into, whilst having some space to stretch if he got cramp.

Spending a few chimes circling the rough area of where he'd chosen to sleep, he gathered a few species of kelp which looked fine to eat, some seaweed and also a few handfuls of sea grass that he nibbled on as he moved.

Resting his feet to the bottom of the ocean let his ankles relax as he walked over and sat down in front of the small hole he'd dug. Resting his back against the rock he began to eat the plants he'd found, they all had a salt-rich taste but that was probably because he was so far down. After finishing his snack he slid down into the hole that was to be his shelter for the night, he had to sleep in a relatively fetal position but the soft sand was hugging against his spine and back and he eventually managed to get comfortable.

Luradin was drifting into a light sleep as a gushing noise brought him about slowly, his eyes drifted to the entrance of his shelter and saw a large shadow drift along the ground outside - the thing with the sea was you could never tell how big something was from it's shadow, because it could be right at the surface or just above you.

He crawled from his safe little hole in the ground to look around at his surroundings, upon standing he caught sight of a shadow in the distance that was coming back towards him. Luradin kept his eyes fixed on the creature and swam backwards to hide half his body behind the rock that he had slept underneath, his eyes fixed on the creature the entire time. As he settled his left knee to the surface of the rock he felt for his Kris and pulled it free from his harness.

The creature swam closer and closer but thankfully had not seen him - Luradin could see that it's size was easily twice as much as his and he could see a pointed snout and a large white underbelly as it approached a distance of about 10 metres from him. Luradin thought that it was most likely a shark and ducked down behind the rock - but it was too late. As the shark rushed towards him Luradin surged upwards through the water, the shark curving up to follow him through the water.

Kicking his feet back and forth, his past tiredness in these muscles was relieved with the bursts of adrenaline he got seeing the sharks maw gleaming as it swam vertically after him. Though agile in the water and doing quite a random path through the dark water Luradin was still not fast enough to keep out of the reach of the shark with it's massive powerful tail. That's it! thought Luradin, although this distraction almost allowed the shark to catch him as it bit towards his torso. With an acrobatic twirl through the water, Luradin placed himself to the side of the shark as it charged past and attempted to swim after it. Reaching for the shark's tail, Luradin's fingers clasped over it's fin but was whipped around as the powerful beast turned. Tensing his body and more specifically his hand, Luradin practically yelled in his attempt to hang on from the extreme forces he was currently subject to. Feeling the muscles in his arm coil against this force, he managed to pull himself closer to the shark's tail and embed the zig-zag blade of his dagger into it's silky flesh.

The shark's body juddered in pain as it tried to shake him off and Luradin felt his grip fading, he was worried he might lose consciousness and let himself be flung free of the tail. Breaking his impact against rock with the bowing of his legs. The shark wasn't giving him time to gather himself and quickly came at him again, teeth bared towards him with a longing that actively portrayed his pain from the dagger wound. Luradin coiled his muscled against the rock and braced his mind as he waited for the shark to come to him, it gathered velocity and easily had the force to bite straight through him should the attack connect. Thankfully it didn't, springing from the rock at the last second directed the shark straight into the large rock he'd been stood on and in an attempt to save itself the shark forged it's demise. It had tried to turn to the side away from the rock and had hit it at an angle, being rolled by it's own force it had been knocked upside down in the water, and froze. Luradin waited in the water, dagger raised and ready to cut the shark but there was no need.

The shark was drifting upside down through the water calmly in tonic shock, it's surroundings had all become different and out of confusion it had shut down it's bodily functions. Luradin decided it merciful to swim down to the shark, circling around it to be under it he struck his kris accurately into the flesh above the sharks face. His blade sank easily into the smooth flesh of the sea creature and carved through to it's flimsy aquatic bone structure breaking through it brought the creature out of it's misery and Luradin could go back to sleep, now suitable exhausted.

Gave you wilderness survival for the food-finding and finding the shelter. Your lore of inducing shock I felt was a bit too broad of a lore, so I narrowed it down to a tactics technique. Still pretty broad, but I feel it fits the circumstances better. PM me if anything comes up.
Will be gone for a couple days, grades need lifting
