Spring Shopping

Spring, 3rd, Year 513 (afternoon)

Ouity strolled through the marketplace of Avanthal, his simple boots encountering no trouble on the snow below his feel, which had been pact down by the feel of hundreds of passerby's. He glanced at stalls and carts, trying to avoid the rush of merchants and hagglers, occasionally asking the merchants questions.

"Have you any whale bones or wood, friend? Aye, I need something good to carve. No? Bah.

He would then continue on, occasionally glancing up at the frozen waterfall which graced the market district, an annoyed expression crossing his face. This stuff would be expensive, he knew, but how much? He needed these materials as a means to ask for Juliane's hand in marriage. The problem he faced was simple- he needed as much money as he could get his hands on for provisions, a pack horse, tools; everything that one needed to travel the world, which was a lot.

He continued to look through the stalls, hoping to find a merchant who'd bargain. Or perhaps a job. he thought to himself with a small chuckle. Would these merchants even have whale bones? It wouldn't surprise him if they didn't. Whale hunting was a risky business, and the whalers would most likely want to hoard the treasures for themselves. He sighed, running his hands through his hair, scattering his shimmering aqua highlights through the rest of his black hair. The day was still young, he knew that there had to be somebody with some ware that would help him on his quest.

If not, he supposed he could go to the docks. As the thought hit him, he kicked himself for not thinking of it sooner. It would be his next stop if there was no luck in the markets, he supposed. Glancing back up at the waterfall once more, he took a moment to marvel at its beauty, his face lighting up into a small smile.
