Luradin didn't exercise specifically because he didn't need to, he could lift anything he needed to and could move easily through the water with his already pre-determined leg muscles that had improved from birth. He mulled these thoughts over in his mind as he lifted himself up from the water once again and walked over to one of the lower-hanging branches of a tree nearby.

He had seen this tree before in his many visits to the surface, it had rough bark like all the others except one of the boughs was almost at an exact right angle from the trunk and Luradin could just reach it if he jumped.

Luradin sprang up from the ground underneath him and grabbed both sides of the tree with his hands, fingers curling round it and tensing against the solid wood to grip himself solidly. He lifted himself up and released with one hand moving both hands to one side of the bough, the furthest side from himself. Then with both arms he lifted his body up in what he'd learned was called a 'pull-up' He lifted his body with both arms and rested his chin against the bark momentarily as he did so.

He repeated the action several times and only just began to feel it's effects on his arms, a burning sensation that had not quite earned it's name as pain in his mind. two repetitions of this action later and the burning had spanned the entire of his biceps in a very noticeable burning pain. Luradin had only repeated the action 8 times and wanted to round the number off so he repeated the 9th with shaky arms and a wince against the pain. The 10th repetition was his goal and he once more lifted himself up, he managed to reach 90 degrees and pushed his body into it with an audible roar of determination, just getting to about 45 degrees from the branch he felt his power fade and he dropped from the branch to the floor.

Luradin barely held himself up as he hit the floor an instantly slumped down to sit against the hard earth, breathing deeply for a few moments waiting for the pain to fade. He sighed for not being able to complete the ten repetitions but decided he would do the exercise again, although he would probably have to start with smaller numbers. He pushed himself up mainly with his legs, as his arms still felt reasonably weak.

This time as Luradin sprang from the ground he easily cupped both hands around the branch in the right position and began to do the exercise again. after only two repetitions Luradin felt the same pain that he had at 8 and frowned in confusion but also in a mixture of anger and determination to take command of his body because this to him just seemed to be it dis-obeying. He pulled himself up with audible grunts twice more and found himself at the same stage as he was on the ninth repetition previously. This time he heaved himself up with almost a roar and as his chin touched the branch gingerly he released the branch and landed in an exhausted stagger below the branch.

Luradin decided it would be good to rest his arms after this exercise that had left him feeling weak and sat down on the ground. Thinking on what the feeling had been like Luradin did admit to himself that the exercise had felt good whilst being painful, he was worried slightly when he did think of this and pushed it aside in his mind.

Luradin put his legs out slightly and placed his feet flat to the ground, his knees were raised from the ground at an acute angle but his thighs and calves were not touching anywhere, he laid his body back almost to the floor and then pulled his body back up to almost touch his thighs. His stomach muscles were quite strong already from his dolphin-like way of swimming that he sometimes used for endurance and he found the action quite easy as the number wen from zero to ten and ten to twenty.

His defined abdominal muscles rippled under his skin to halt his body from touching the ground and then accelerate it back towards his thighs, he also noticed that his back muscles were being exercised in this way because they were the muscles that slowed him down and stopped him before touching his thighs. Thinking about this made Luradin wonder if these 'sit-ups' were the best way to exercise mainly his stomach but he justified that sitting back up was much harder because of the pull towards the ground everything had.

Luradin had repeated the action about thirty five times now and he felt the acidic burn begin to build up in his gut, this was not as painful as it had felt in his arms but it was more discomforting because it felt like it was actually inside his stomach. This could be due to the fact of the action turning the contents of his stomach round and round as he moved.

At about 40 repetitions of the action Luradin felt the familiar burning sensation of pain that he had on the other exercise and finally laid his back to the floor to relax after he reached 45 sit-ups.

Breathing deeply for the next few minutes relieved Luradin of the cramp in his stomach as quickly as it had after he had done the pull-ups. He slowly pushed himself up from the floor with both hands and feet and could feel the difficulty in using his muscles after working them. He stretched his body backwards and the pain in his stomach increased at first, then slowly eased off to create a cool sensation throughout his gut. He glanced down at his stomach and saw that each muscle had become more defined from use.

Upon feeling the relief in his stomach that had occurred from stretching it Luradin stretched both arms out to sides and across his chest each a few times, each pull on his muscle both increased and then relieved the pain in the same way and Luradin thought that it would be good to relieve each muscle after this use every time he exercised like this.

After finishing his stretches Luradin looked around for something to pick up, upon inspection of the surrounding environment there was a large hollow log which seemed to be rotting, Luradin knew that the rotting wood would not be as heavy as it would if it was still fresh so he decided it would be light enough for him since he was just starting out in body building.

Striding over to the log rather calmly he crouched down next to it and wrapped his arms around the width of it. Standing up he lifted the log with both shoulders and legs and swung it up over his head to rest it against the back of his neck. He held both of his arms around the log to make sure it would not slip off of his neck and rotated his neck more in way of psychological preparation than in physical.

Luradin fixed his legs into a firm stance, keeping them about shoulder width apart underneath him to distribute weight fairly on both legs. After his preparations Luradin lowered his body down, still holding the log to about a ninety degree angle. He felt his thigh muscles jut out sternly from his thighs as he pushed himself back up against gravity and the weight of the log that he held upon his back.

Lowering and rising again and again against the resistances he was subject to caused the familiar faint burning sensation in Luradin's calf muscles but he continued to lift his body up and then drop back down to about ninety degrees, unlike some of the other exercises he had just done this one was more constant - there was no short rest in between the repetitions.

As Luradin neared 30 repetitions of his exercise he once again felt the sizzling underneath his skin and his legs begin to go numb through use. His muscles were almost rubbing against his flesh as he raised up again and again and Luradin winced as he did the last few repetitions, coming to a stop just as he stood up on the 35th. He carefully moved one then both arms down underneath the log and with one swift movement bent his head and body down and threw the log away from him with his arms, it splintered slightly against the floor and rolled to a stop at the base of a tree trunk.

Luradin locked the bones in his legs together as he leaned his body forwards and braced it against his knees, he let his calf muscles relax by placing the strain on his skeleton instead like this. Luradin then slowly lifted his feet up from the floor and reached his hands down to very slightly touch the tops of them, he felt a sharp line of pain running up from his ankles through the back of his knees and up to his upper thighs and then as he slowly eased further down the pain resided into the icy tingling that had graced his aching body the last three times he had stretched.

Moving sluggishly to the water Luradin sank into it and swam home at a very leisurely pace to have a snack and then go to bed soon after.
