Upon hearing his words she lifted dead eyes to meet his, then out of nowhere she attacked him. Her fist went for his chin, while another went for his stomach. Rage boiled in her, it had to come out, and when it did she usually she attacked the first being that was in her reach, be it friend or foe. Now that her rage had been unleashed she was relentless, she tried to get more hits in but they were clumsy. Due to her state of mind she had little coordination.
''I killed them! It was my fault, don't you get it! It. Was. Me! I can't change that!'' Tears polled in her eyes, she shook her head as her blows began to weaken, soon she just stood there and was staring. Her eyes were now lifeless, her expression, well she had no expression. Her face was a mask. |

Khal'iah had anticipated a negative response...but he did not foresee a flurry of fists rising to assault his person. Fortunately, unlike the foreign female, the Akalak had his wits fully about him, as well as some decent experience in the art of hand-to-hand combat. His arms moved in a neat, fluid motion, blocking both of her initial strikes and pushing back as to afford him room to step back; a step he quickly took in order to dance out of the way of of the subsequent blows. The Akalak blocked, ducked, weaved, and exercised many of the steps he had learned throughout the years of his training...but he never raised his fist to counterattack. He noticed that her assault, albeit full of rage, was clumsily launched and therefore relatively simply for him to block and evade.
"Wallowing in despair isn't going to change anything either. I get it, believe you me, I understand. But carrying this burden upon your shoulders is going to get you nowhere. You must free yourself from this and live."
His words were as calm and collected as he could muster: an honest attempt at placating the rage that had consumed her. Soon, she seemed to wear down, then halted altogether; her face bearing...an empty expression. Khal'iah dared not speak, he only listened and observed: staying on his toes lest something else be thrown his way. |

She sighed, drawing a heavy breath into her lungs. Closing her eyes, she visibly relaxed. Then she stretched, lifting all six arms above her head, then clasping palms together. She then bent to touch her feet, all the while she was doing this she was breathing evenly.
This action seemed to be a sort of meditation, or calming exercise, but which ever the case it helped. After a few more moments she came to stand straight, her arms resting at her sides. She opened her eyes, the dark depths held a sense of peace, as if she was finally beginning to forgive herself even if only a little, it was still something. She was about to speak when her stomach grumbled, an embarrassing blush coated her dark gilded skin in a matter of moments. She then adverted her eyes. ''I think all of that grieving has made me hungry, shall we? |

Khal'iah honestly didn't know how to respond at this point. In one instant, the woman was a perfectly fine conversationalist...the next, she was literally attempting to take him apart. The vast majority of him, including Ha'lik, wanted nothing more than to just cut his losses and come back to the tavern at a different point. This was just way too high above his pay grade...but at the same time, he felt sorry for the foreign woman and part of him wanted to help her; especially since he had been in her shoes, more or less. In order to decide his next course of action, the Akalak's hand dove within his pocket and produced a single gold miza. He gave it a flip, let it twirl through the air, and swiped it into his hand. 'Alright Ha'lik, call it.'
The darkness was silent for a moment and then chose his side. Khal'iah opened his palm and Ha'lik uttered an exasperated sigh: he had lost the coin toss. With that decided, the Akalak opened the door for his foreign acquaintance in order for her to enter before him; once more, acting like a true gentleman. "I'm starving as well, so, after you!" He plastered a warm grin upon his face and motioned for her to go ahead through. |

"I must apologize, I can only imagine the trouble and misfortune I have caused you, if there is by some way I can make it up to you I will. Perhaps paying for your meal?'' She asked him softly, she did feel as if she was burdening this man. Yet she didn't want to leave him with out trying to pay something back for the trouble she had caused him. If any one lesson her Mother had taught her, it was that you always repay those are kind to you. And in time, the Fate's will smile upon you and bring you fortune.
She smiled as she remember her Mother's teachings. They were now in the tavern once more, the Eypharian adverted her gaze to the floor and weaved through the crowd until she was at their table. She shrugged out of her cloak, then settling the garment over the back of the wooden chair she settled into it. Bringing her first set of arms to rest on the table as the other two sat comfortably in her lap. With the cloak gone it revealed the dark henna and ink designs on her skin, she had done them herself. A craft she loved all in itself. The designs covered a majority of her arms, as well as her shoulders. |

"There's no need for you to repay me Tlazotinya, especially not for something as simple as this." Khal'iah stated, warmth begining to bleed into the smile he wore upon his countenance. He took a pause for a moment before continuing. "However, if you truly wish to repay this 'kindness' of mime, then simply refrain from roaming about the Denvali Quarter. That will make my life so much easier..." He chuckled aloud immediately after stating thus, as if the entirety of his statement was meant to be humorous. However, the Akalak was dead serious. If she were to get into an altercation within that particular region of the city, with one of the members of the faction that employed him, he would have to make the tough decision between doing the right thing and eating.
That being said, the warrior followed his acquaintance into the tavern once she walked past. As they traversed the establishment in order to return to their seats, Khal'iah noticed that the fisherman from before had returned to his chair and took it upon himself to shoot the two a murderous glare. The Akalak rolled his eyes and ignored him, sliding back into his seat across from his foreign acquaintance. They didn't have to wait long for their orders to arrive, although the waitress carrying their meals was noticeably shaky in the presence of Tlazotinya. However, Khal'iah was too busy focusing upon the platter of succulent meat that was soon laid before him to pay any mind to the waitress who retreated immediately after serving them. Immediately, he raised his flagon of ale to his lips and took a hearty swig, then gripped his utensils and tore into the meat. He ate hungrily, but with enough tact to not draw attention to himself or seem repulsive. |

''Humans hate me, in fact most races do, you are the first out of my race. Other then the Dhani that has been..... pleasant to me. I find it very refreshing, and quite to my liking. Thank you, Khal'iah.'' She smiled at him, and then once her food had arrived she squealed like a small exuberant child. Her platter was covered in fruits, sweet meats, as well as a few pastries. She took a piece of succulent fruit and popped it into her her mouth. She chewed slowly, and gave an appreciative sound. It was delicious, as she ate it was easy that she was one to savor all things, she ate each piece of fruit slowly. Tasting it as much as she could, she loved the sweetness that exploded over her tongue.
''This is delicious, I haven't had fruit like this in ages! Is it always this sweet and succulent, it feels as if my mouth is exploding with flavor......Oh I am rambling.....''She blushed again, then reached for her ale, as she had asked, it was their strongest they had. She took a sip of the beverage and her eyes widened, a slow smile came to her lips. She then took a long drink of the ale. Nearly draining it half-way. |

Khal'iah Vojak was a man on a mission. He was focused, driven, and his resolve unwavering; so much so that he did not even pay attention to the antics displayed by his foreign acquaintance whilst she ate. All that mattered at this point in time was filling the void that had come to occupy his stomach. The meat he had torn into was fantastic! The flavor was exquisite, and the meat itself was moist, tender, and succulent. Khal'iah was thoroughly enjoying his meal, especially the strong ale he washed it down with. Delicious all around! He was well pleased! After a small eternity of silent consumption, Khal'iah finished his last bite of meat and swallowed down the final drop of his ale.
"AH! That was excellent!" he exclaimed, leaning back in his chair with a satisfied grin. The warrior's hands came to rest upon his stomach whilst he rested. "Tlazotinya, I don't hate anyone based upon the blood that flows through their veins...well, except Zith...so there's no need to thank me for that. I'll continue to treat you with respect and courtesy until the day you give me a reason not to...Now then..."
Once the words had left his lips, the Akalak ascended from his chair and gave his arms a stretch. He stepped away from the table momentarily and pressed a single, gold-rimmed coin into the hand of the waitress. She immediately set about attempting to make change, as he had ridiculously overpaid for his mean, but he waved a hand and motioned for her to keep the change. Khal'iah then stepped over to the table once more and offered the foreign woman his hand to shake.
"It was a pleasure to meet you this day, I do hope that you'll have the opportunity to see the better side of Zeltiva. Unfortunately, I cannot tarry. I must return to my duties, lest my employer decide to dock my pay!" |

''Would you mind if I tagged along? I have yet to see much of the city, as well I enjoy your company. I also plan on figuring you out. I am a curious being, as you may have figured. I find you fascinating, as well as a respectable male.'' She had finished her meal, she stood. But not before placing a copper coin on the table top. She retrieved her cloak, covering her shoulders again. She then re-wrapped her hair. Her eyes were serious, her voice was strong.
''I need to stop wallowing, I have leads. Although they are not much, they are still something. As well, you are headed in the same direction as I, you could always use an extra set of hands, or in my case six.....'' She smiled at her own humor, then was thrown into a fit of giggles. The sound was musical and childish all at once. |

When the foreign woman made her request to come along, a silence overcame the Akalak. He pondered the possible repercussions of allowing her to accompany her during the remainder of his patrol duties, but made a sound call when he realized where said patrol would take them. This day, there was a particular shipment that needed his attention: a shipment of arms that would be going to the Denvali Quarter to bolster their coup effort. It was Khal'iah's job to be certain those arms made it to the Denvali without drawing any attention...though Khal'iah had no problem with the woman, it seemed as though he sailors of the town were attracted to starting altercation after altercation with her.
A sigh escaped him and he shook his head. "My sincerest apologies, but there are certain matters, confidential matters, that my work today will have me attend to. I cannot allow you to accompany me, especially since I do not know you outside of this afternoon...so, this is where we must say goodbye, for now." He offered an apologetic bow of his head before stepping back and turning on his heel, his heading for the door of the tavern. In earnest, he did not have much more time to spend at his leisure and had to get back to work as soon as possible. |
