Jaden brushed the snow from her boots, her hair falling in her vision to obstruct it, with a tierd huff she curled the hair around her ear, the braids catching on the crook to rest in place. This wind was starting to get to her, she had tried her best to ignore the normal wind speed that whipped around Avanthal on a regular basis, but in these moments it was to press on her last nerve. She was trying to look her best after all, it wasn't everyday that a girl tried to get a job working in Frostfawn, or at least it wasn't the norm for her. Straightening up she heard her back crack, her spine popping through out reminding her of her slouching shoulders. Can't do that, she thought, pulling her shoulders back proudly. Her grandmother had always told her that the first impression was the one that mattered, even if you presented yourself as a perfect lady every moment after the first image was the one that stuck. Raising her hands to her head band she felt the beading, each groove placed just so to create the designs found in the hide.
Jaden's eyes gleamed violet stricken with nostalgic memories of her childhood, puppy Vindur and her racing each other up her grandfathers lap, climbing at his worn pants until reaching the cushioned lap, nuzzling at his chest while the sound of the fire crackled near by. The sound of his hearty voice filling her youthful ears telling her tales of the days he cared for a herd of animals, the young years of a young man. Then her grandmother would come in shaking her head at the old man, eyes bright with pink love for her husband."She's heard that story a hundred times,"[color=black]she'd say, before sitting down with her hot drink and working on the headband.
The sound of sharp twigs cracking behind her brought Jaden back to her senses, turning around she scanned the white sheet laying before her, her eyes fixed on the snow carefully surveying the landscape. At first she saw nothing, the glare of the sun blinding her eyes because of the snow, than she saw it, a sight that made her laugh more than she could help; there face in the snow tail waving in the air was her Vinduir, his muzzle jammed eyes deep into the frozen land smelling something that had tracked through there."Brother! Brother come on, we're going to be late," Jaden smiled, raising her hands to motion the sled dog to her, waiting for his light trot to her she gave him a stroke to the head, his long white hair wrapping around her fingers lightly. Moving forward she found her breathing picking up again the sight of the White Elk Stables coming into view, it seemed smaller to her somehow. The last time she'd been this close to the stables had been when she was a child with her grandfather, though the feeling was different than. Now she was nervous beyond compare while before she would have been overly giddy to see the brown structure.
Searching the fields she noticed a few horses here and there, their heads shaking up and down, snorting as they flew across the white terrain. Soon she would be cleaning the snow off their brilliant coats, or so she hoped. She wasn't sure what sort of experience they were looking for in the groom of these stables, but she did know that this wouldn't be her first time around horses, her grandfather having trained them when he was younger. She just hoped that the owner would take that into consideration. Taking another deep breath Jaden made her way into the stables, the smell of hide and straw filling her senses. This is how she remembered it, cool but warm in feeling. Allowing her eyes to scan the inside of the barn she searched for Lusina, the owner of the barn. "Hello anyone here?"
